Love decluttering videos, my goal is to start again in January. I declutter all through the year and more so because I’m 70 and I don’t want my children to have to do it when I’m gone ! My husband and I have had to do that for parents and siblings, it’s a daunting chore! Funny how just 15 minutes is all it takes, one drawer or closet at a time. I’ve donated so much in the past. Good luck growing your channel 😊❤
I have one of those under the bed bins under my bed with my wrapping supplies. I had it under my bed for years, along with a bunch of other bins but a few years ago, I decluttered enough that it was cleared out under my bed. Recently though, I brought my wrapping bin back because it was just so much more convenient under the bed. Also, one of my kitties likes to hide under my bed and it gives her a nice little wall, something to hide behind. 😊
For all my holiday supplies, I ordered a cart off Amazon that has a space on the back for wrapping paper, a couple drawers and shelves for storage and rods on the side for ribbon. I absolutely love it!!!
Hanging organizer might help❤❤❤ I might need 2 hanging organizers. Separating Christmas from other occasions could work at my house. Thanks for motivation.
I have myself been on decluttering journey and have a desire to help others. I have offered my help to my friends and neighbors to gain experience for myself. my desire is to become a decluttering coach, if you will. I enjoyed hearing your journey to youtube. I'm unsure about going that far, but I am excited to get into to helping others live a more comfortable life. I hope to inspire and give hope to overwhelmed people that need direction and encouragement. I really found a common ground with the comment that you lost yourself in your kids and you needed to find yourself. I also have been questioning myself and struggling to be passionate about what brought me joy, decluttering and organizing. Any tips for me on this journey?
That’s a hard one! I love that you want to help others. You could start a RUclips channel where you go to other peoples houses to help declutter. I know those type of videos for cleaning are really popular. In fact, I have wanted to do the same thing on my channel, but I’m not sure how to find people. I was going to start with friends and family, but what I am already doing is overwhelming! Maybe once I get more into a routine with this RUclips thing. It’s a lot of work and time!
Thanks for sharing about your personal life and some of your struggles. I like “real life” home decluttering videos the most. I just cleaned my wrapping paper organizer and got rid of quite a bit. I have one of those standing organizers and have hated it for years but kept it to keep all of the supplies together. I never thought about an under the bed box. I have an empty one and am going to use it for wrapping supplies and donate the other container. Thanks for the inspiration!! ❤ Happy New Year to you and your family! 🎊 ✨🎉
So inspiring!!! I like to keep the wrapping paper and bows in one bin, so that I can take the whole bin to where I’m wrapping. Makes it easier. And I also tend to only buy brown paper bags and wrapping paper because it can be used all year long. It’s very versatile. ❤
Best wishes on your RUclips channel! I’m so glad I found you! Being a perfectionist is a double edged sword - it’s my super power but also a big source of my anxiety. I also don’t miss the things I’ve decluttered. I’ve had to repurchase a $20 work light for a painting project but overall no regrets on getting rid of the excess.
I had trouble hunting for bags amongst the wrap. So I got a container and stood them up largest at the back. Now I can see the size & have used most of them up. I also made an advent calendar for ladies/girls a couple of years ago & used up most of scrappy pieces & got rid of what was left. Now i only have large pieces/rolls. Yaah! lol
I set a 20 minute timer 3xs, 3 x 20 = 60 minutes, with different alarm sounds. Check progress & it's usually trash. After 60 minutes go for a walk, eat, do some kind of exercise or errand & start again. I prepped my dinner while watching your vid. But honestly, you're a perfectionist. If so, you wouldn't be in the same boat as the rest of us
I know I’m a perfectionist! Haha. I do what you do sometimes. I will set a timer and work on something like laundry or chores and once that time is up, I stop and move on to another thing like working on my computer. I really like doing that so that I don’t go overboard on one thing. I tend to do that a lot. 😬
You did a great job within that 15 minute de-cluttering session. The closet looks good. I hope you and your family had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year.
Great job! 👏 I have my gift bags hanging on skirt hangers in a wardrobe and the rolls of paper in an ikea plastic bag holder. I try not to keep too much of anything.
Great job! Amazing how much you got done in 15 minutes! Thanks for being so transparent, especially about your struggles in the past. As an almost 73 year old mother of one, I do understand. Having a child is wonderful & exhausting. I also had elderly parents who were ill, & I had a demanding full-time job. I felt like a crazy person part of the time & definitely went through depression. I tend to keep far too much & wind up with messes. I spend time cleaning bc I’m a germaphobe to some extent &, like you, a perfectionist. I’m enjoying your channel! I also have thought of starting a channel but came to my senses bc I realize a bunch of time is involved, editing, etc. Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Just found your channel. Identify so much with you. I love that you keeping it real. There were so many things that you said that I could relate too. Family, emotions etc. It's so important for women to relate to other women and know that we are not alone in our challenges. Thank you for your honesty, your genuineness.
Love this! I'm going to set a timer right now and go declutter my fridge! My son, who's 19 (almost 20) and a college student, is having Friendsmas at our house on Friday. I'm cooking dinner for him and 3 close friends. I needed motivation to get the kitchen cleaned and ready. Thanks Ali!❤
@reallifewithali my hubby and I got rid of an entire garbage bag of stuff from the fridge and kitchen in 15 minutes! Plus 2 pans went to the donation bin! Woohoo!
I did the same items yesterday Ali! Wrapping paper and bags seem to multiply over the years and now the children are grown it's just not necessary to keep it....I open my cupboard now and it's great!
Hi Ali! I hope you and your family had a Merry Christmas! I decluttered two bedrooms yesterday! They weren't horrible but, we are getting ready to paint them so it was the perfect timing! Great job on the decluttering of the w er buy either! I hope you have a wonderful New Year!
Hi, I just found your channel recently, and I'm really enjoy it. Have you tried the gift wrapping organizers that hang in the closet? Maybe that would work for you.
Thanks! I have lost quite a bit of weight. I am pre-diabetic so my dr recommended Wegovy. It’s a weekly injection to help with diabetes, but also weight loss!

Thank you! I’ve thought about helping my mom, but she’s already gone through most of her stuff and is good at letting things go!
It was so satisfying when those storage boxes fit on the shelf perfectly!! I didn’t think they were going to but hooray they did 😁
I know! I was sure happy they did!
Just declutterred my Christmas supplies also. Feels good to get that done. I also declutterred my Christmas decorations to get ready for next year. 😂
It’s a good time to declutter Christmas decorations! Good job. 👏🏻
Thank you for your videos! I really enjoy hearing you talk through the process of why you are letting go of items.
Thank you! I appreciate your feedback. ❤️
I buy brown paper bag-looking wrapping, so it goes for any holiday or birthday, and I only buy it when I am out.
Great idea! I need to do that.

It makes my brain happy to see when something like those bins fit perfectly on a shelf.
Thanks for the dopamine and the motivation! 🤩
Me too! 😆 Thanks for watching!
My wrapping station is brown craft paper, gold, silver, Xmas ribbon, Kraft paper gift bags - DONE.
Perfect! I need to do that!
I really like how you explain while you're decluttering and then in between tell a little about yourself. Thank you, nice video ❤
Thank you! ❤️

@@gaild9003 👏🏻 Yay!
I just set a google calendar reminder for Thanksgiving 2024 entitled “Don’t buy wrapping paper “. I forget every year and always buy more.
🤣 That is genius! I’m going to do that right now!
Thank you for your videos. They are so real and inspiring. I hope you all had a lovely Christmas x
Thank you! You too. Happy New Year!

Hi! New subscriber. Was sent by Midwest Magic Cleaning!
Welcome! Thanks for being here!

Good job on decluttering two rooms yesterday! Happy New Year!
I did 5 minute quick cull if my tea drinks area. Which I've been doing once a year. Still found a 2019 best before date of speciality tea 😂
Haha. It happens!
Hi, I just found your channel recently, and I'm really enjoy it. Have you tried the gift wrapping organizers that hang in the closet? Maybe that would work for you.
Thank you! No, I haven’t seen those before. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks!
Enjoy your videos and relate a lot, mom of 4 and thought the same things with same videos. Also you look like you have lost weight? Please share how 🤩
Thanks! I have lost quite a bit of weight. I am pre-diabetic so my dr recommended Wegovy. It’s a weekly injection to help with diabetes, but also weight loss!
I would label those shelves so everybody could put things away in the proper places.
Good idea! Thanks.
🎉
Thanks!
Labels might help everyone in your family know where things go :)
It’s true, it might! Although about half of them won’t pay attention. 🤪
