For the square tires to work the best, the triangles of the road have to be half the width of the tires. This way the points of the tires fall exactly into the trough of each triangle. You essentially have a linier gear.
I'm sure the physics isn't perfect, but the foam blocks would be a lot like the kid's science demonstration where you lay a wooden ruler flat on a table with half of it hanging over the edge, lay a single sheet of paper on top of it and whack the ruler where it sticks out. It breaks because the paper can't get moving quick enough. It's actually not the inertia of the paper, but the inertia of the air on top of the paper. The foam blocks would behave similarly.

No, a quarter of the tires will be better, that way it wont have a small amount of contact on the point of the wheel and every point on the tire will have some contact as the wheel spins instead of just 2 points of the wheel. Your way would work. But with the amount of force coming from the wheels it will just slip out.

If you want a smooth ride with square wheels use half circumferences on the ground. There’s a mathematical proof to that too if you are interested

Drae solution to you having to reset all the cubes, there's a button that resets everything. Idk what the config is for controller if you use one

When you want square wheels you need repeating half circles. The reason that it seemed to work on a repeated triangular surface is because it hits tiny bits each time. So it pushes it forward, on the ground it needs to push itself up so that's why it's so slow.

I guess there's validity to "flying over speed bumps".
The rectangles on the square wheels are right angles (90), while the speed bumps are equilateral triangles with acute angles (60). they don't mesh as well.

I love seeing these beamng videos! I wish people posted them more often. Also try some of the apps in game for the speedometers. the in game regular one doesn’t show the exact speed like the apps do. any way keep it up Drae love you man ;) you’re great at what you do.
Also do some crazy modded cars and just destruction at slow mo. That’s all we want. There’s a lot of mods and new things to find.

If you're dragging a car with the nodes you should use a frame node instead of the flimsy body panels

Shift R to reset everything and use fly mode to get out of the middle of the cubes and F to walk, it will put the character in the location of the freecam

I think speed is best for crossing speed bumps
Drae, you can press shift + r to reset every vehicle and prop, so you have to manually reset everything. Sometimes it generates some visual glitches though
