Auburn has been criticized for playing games too close to home. Cal has a good record vs SEC so its understandable why they wanted the game. Plus, this matchup made the cash register ring.
Not really. In an ideal world, every team would play every team in division 1. Cal has played Ole Miss, Tennessee, and now Auburn. The first two teams listed, they have also gone to their home stadiums as well.
Cal was tough! We were fortunate to get out of there with a win. Defense won the game. Offense seemed totally inept at times. During the first half it seemed like Cal’s linebackers were in Auburn’s huddle before every play. They were always exactly where they were supposed to be! Huge, huge win. I’m not looking forward to playing em again next year! The call that took 3 points from Cal before first half ended!!!! I guess it was technically holding!!!!
@@mcchulogan91 Cal always gets robbed, but that is not excuse. Cal needs to be one step ahead. Make sure they play so good that one TD would not matter. Auburn earned this. Isaiah needs to be cut and the kicker needs to be cut. Will Wilcox do this? No. Because he has NO IDEA what he is doing.

@kobebrady some feedback, to tell the actual story of the game, you need to included the missed field goals by Cal, as well as Cal’s failed 4th down conversions/interception at the end of the game. Otherwise we are seeing random 2nd down plays with no context.
@@jesseflores9087Auburn beats Oregon everytine they play Auburn hasn't been a good team in about 4 years, this was one of the worst Auburn teams of all time.

California had so many opportunities to win this game and put over the way earlier. The referees were atrocious against California, giving them four points (California did get a field goal) and the holding call in the field goal that halftime was 95% of the time not called. I give Auburn credit for hanging in there and having a good defense but neither team looked good.
I think the only bad call was Cal's fumble return for TD. It should have been a TD, but unfortunately the ref was too quick to blow the play dead. Whistle blows are not reviewable because it wouldn't be fair to do so (since most players stop playing when they hear it).
They were getting pressure from the edge on FGs all night and I saw Coach Freeze working the officials after a borderline hold on the one they made. So the refs were watching for it.
I didnt see the first auburn fumble but as I saw it the refs called it square. Cals first fumble couldn’t be overturned, if they called him down first there wasn’t enough to give it to auburn, it just so happened to be in the reverse. That hold on the fg was awful, took the defender off off his feet, yea most of the time the hold gets missed there but not when it’s so blatant. Cal definitely had a chance to win, they should’ve had 12 to 15 more points but that’s on the kicker🤷♂️
Our defense improved but I am still concerned with the D. @1:39 I have been seeing a lot of this and I don't understand why. 3&1 and obviously the formation and scouting report should have said this would be a run. So wtf are our LBs staying at their own level waiting for the RB to get to them? This is the same crap we have seen the last 2 years with the zone defense. smh

California didn’t do themselves any favors. They were 1/4 in FG’s. One FG called back by a holding call. As for the TD that was called back, to be honest I don’t know what to make of it. It actually looked liked the QB was out.
Basically, Cal has to make do with what they can get. They get these no star and one star players and they just feel lucky to make a football team every year. The coaches absolutely suck because anyone can be hired on and the athletic director does not have strict enough standards to fire them and so they are like one of the high paid employees in CA. Well, CAL needs to step up and play good games, win by at least two tds so if one gets taken away, they are still ahead.
The refs literally gave Auburn four points (they did get a FG) with that call at the beginning of the game, and then later took three points off the board with that usual no call on the holding call with the field goal. So the referees were directly responsible for seven points. California did not look great on offense but Auburn didn't either.
