No one should be guilt tripped into being friends with someone or helping them. If that was a child who didn’t have special needs then they wouldn’t care, they’re just trying to force someone to be friends with her and making her feel bad if she says no. It’s unfair as they’re trying to make her look like a bully.
As someone who works with children with special needs in inclusive classrooms, you'll know when a child actually WANTS to help. It's a child who always jumps at the chance to help, not a child who only does it because the teachers say "she must". Shame on the school for expecting a child to always help out with this girl rather than doing their own damn jobs :U It's frustrating being the parent of a child with special needs, I have seen parents of such kids literally have break downs because of small things piling up or because the parent genuinely can't take it anymore and has come to hate their own child for existing. There's a reason why a lot of these kids live with their grandparents, their parents couldn't take it anymore having their entire life permanently uprooted for a child they will have to care for even into their elderly years. But that's why you find support groups NOW when the children are young. Many middle schools have programs to ease children with special needs into inclusive classrooms, and many high schools have programs now that teach children with special needs how to perform simple jobs at supermarkets (so that way they have a simple little part time job for when they graduate). The support is there, but that damn mother needs to find it not treat OP's daughter as a suitable replacement for a caretaker.
Getting a certified assistant/aide is likely a headache for the school… that doesn’t make this ok. The kid needs professional help in school? Then for heavens sake give her access! The other child isn’t just stuck as the de facto friend, she seems to have more responsibility than that- none of it asked for. I hope everything works out. And I hope the troubled girls older siblings wake up and get involved. They could help immensely.
First pin pls and thanks for the video❤
