Me and my grandson would love a video on rigging up lures please rob, we love your stuff. We want to explore fishing with lures in the Murrumbidgee river in Narrandera NSW
A good one not mentioned, it's the Halco poltergeist. These work well for cod. Additionally, there are large lures that sort of are shaped like a large freshwater shrimp, meaning the head faces in the opposite direction that it's swimming, these essentially look like big freshwater shrimp, but could also be confused for a Yabby possibly as well by a fish, these work very well for cod or even yellowbelly, because they highly resemble their most common food item. Then you have the ones that paddle on the surface left and right in a swaying motion, often with a large aluminium bib that angles upwards, these work well and probably look like a large insect that fell into the water, or a small frog panicking and trying to swim to the bank. Those 3 types I think are good types.
Thanks for the advice Robbie. I am keen to get into cod fishing and have spent the day trolling the net looking for lures though am not fully settled on what to look for. It is great to have some solid direction to follow. Love your videos. Keep up the great work mate.
I’m a bit sick today but this video made me happy. Very informative, might have to grab some. I’m just hopping on not sick next week because I have a school camping and fishing trip 👍🏻
Hope you don't mind Robbie, but 2 great Australian companies that make lures that are top value are Whacked Lures and Basko Lures both on Facebook. Honestly I've used both and they are fantastic to deal with, can't recommend them enough
Just wanted to get some advice are the oar-Gee lures good I have a yellow and green one and a pink and purple one??ps I'm going to invest in some from old mate as well just wanted to know about oar-Gee lures thanks Rob 😊
Would like to see you do more of the fishing challenge where someone sends you the weirdest lures they can find & you see what you can catch with it......
Totally agree with every lure you picked I’ve got every one of them and I rate the old mate and koolabung the highest and you can’t go cod fishing with out a stumpy either great selection
Hi mate I use mine with a Mustard Fastach line-clip. If they are rigged up perfectly symmetrical that will automatically flip over. Even mine come in upside down occasionally./ They will still catch fish like that, the only issue is that the chances of getting snagged are increased.
Have an awesome Christmas thanks for helping everyone and I know I asked the tip on dog food you probably can't name a brand but can you message me a general suggestions I'm in South Australia and yeah I want to get back into it when I'm I'm I've got someone who can help me with the driving to with post-traumatic stress they're not as good as you but you got a mate thanks for helping everyone
Hi Wayne thanks for your kind words mate. I'm sorry to hear that you are suffering from PTSD mate. Its a real bastard that is. I use Goodo's dry dig food for menyabby bait, it's my favourite yabby bait.

Great video robboe. Hahah i thought you were going to mention spinnerbaits. But otherwise, pure quality. 👍
The 09 old mate “the exact one in your video” is easily the best lure for its price especially for those who fish the broken river and Goulburn river🎣
My biggest Murray Cod on a surface lure is about 85 to 90 cm

Lures, often catch fishermen/women, not fish!
Haha very true. BUT..... these ones catch fish too.
