Your reviews are head and shoulders above any others. Hitting all over the face is what testing should be about because that's what most of us do. Thanks for doing another real review and hope your channel grows this year mate.
Appreciate all of the swings you put into your efforts. Your my # 1 reviewer! I’m still hitting my 900 Forged set. Like the feel. I can tell you where on the face I miss it.
Great review! Would love to see a comparison between the forged and the 225. Not only to see the stats but to also see how the golfer (you) likes the feel of which more.
Hi Luke, I'll add that to the list 👍
Thanks. Similar loft so the forgives and feel would be key to getting one over the other.
Looking forward to another cracking review
Nice review. I own the 921 Forged. I like em. I will say, theres absolutely a difference in sound and feel with the Chromoly milled 4-7 irons compared to the solid, soft 8-GW. The 4-7 are snappier and springier. Regardless, I like em and just don’t see enough to upgrade.
Great review, Love to see a comparison with the Mizuno Pro 225, JPX 923 Pro and The JPX 923 Forged.
Awesome review as always Jay ! In 2017 I was custom fit for JPX 900 irons the early predecessor to this iron. Had 4 iron to GW. Just over 1 year old the grooves on the 8 iron collapsed. Wound up selling the set after replacing the 8 iron.
I’m now into 2021 T100s’s (6 iron to GW) and 2019 T200 (4 and 5 iron)
Would love to see you compare JPX 923 forged to T100s. Lofts are off by 2 deg in 7 iron but still would be a good comparison
I’ve been a Mizuno fan for many years and have gamed MX-23, MX-25, MX-200 and now JPX-900 Forged for last 5 years. However, as a Left Hander, I don’t feel Mizuno have rewarded my loyalty exceptionally well. Many of the clubs I’ve most wanted to try were RH only, like MP20 HMB, ES21, Pro 225, JPX921 Forged, T22 Copper. So, while considering a new set of irons lately, I’m looking very hard at Ping, Cobra and others who include their whole product lineup for left handers.
Pro 225 vs JPX 923 Forged vs JPX HM Pro
Another great job with the review, been waiting on this one! Since they are so close in size, I'd love to see a head-to-head comparison between this Forged and the 923 HMPs for sound, forgiveness, and workability. Thanks for all you do.
I'll defo add that to the list 👍
@@AskGolfNut Hi Jay I am really enjoying your Videos👍,Would love to see you do a review on the New ST-230 Mizuno Driver’s “please” + Fairways & Rescue’s 👍Thanks Jay, Dickey 9hcp 75year Senior Golfer
Hi Dickie the STZ230 Driver is on the channel already, released this evening 👍
@@AskGolfNut Brilliant Jay👍Reading it now👍Thanks Dickey 😁TS-230 Driver review
@@AskGolfNut I have 2022 Calloway rogue 5 wood..Is it worth switching to 430 or paradym 5 wood??? Not much difference?
Thanks for the reviews. I can’t wait to try the new Forged irons. Also, I love my 4 iron as it is one of my favorite clubs.
All of those "miss hits" most amateurs would be happy with the results of where they ended up 😂, I've ordered the jpx 923 pros and can't wait to get them, hoping there going to transform my game
I’d like to see you review the JPX family of irons against the Srixon ZX family and at the average golfer swing speed. I’m considering these along with P790 and I525 which you have already done great reviews.
Coming from the speed blades it’s quite a change to the feel of these irons. The good shots are butter
Definitely will feel a difference moving from that class of iron to these, and especially in a Mizuno due to the amount of emphasis Mizuno put on the sound at strike aspect of their design.... Some care, some don't, its very much individual.. Personally I'm one that likes the feel of a softer iron 👍
Just got the JPX 923 Forged irons today.
Cracking content as always. Won’t be rushing out to replace my 921s with these… not the biggest fan of the visuals… doesn’t appear to be much between them both performance wise either. Also you’re brave with that 4Iron, I avoid a 5 most of the time 😂
Great review! Spot on with feel slightly better over the HMP. I enjoyed hitting both irons the other day and decided on the Forged. I carried farther with the HMP, but it’d leave weird gapping in my wedges. I suppose you could drop the HMP 5 iron that’s lofted like a 4 iron and add a wedge??? Hence the Forged purchase.
I tested these recently too against my current gamer. While it came close my current gamer felt better, had better accuracy and tighter dispersion and did not have the odd flier. Also unfortunately did not have a shaft offering that I liked also compared to mine. But the first club that came close to me thinking it would be an option to consider had I not had my clubs that work very well.
Need to get dinner if these. Currently running og jpx tours but not nearly as playing often 😂
Great review … I love your forgiveness review all the time: a Beacon. Can you please do Ping i230 vs 923 Forged ? Ping should be more like the tour version of the Mizuno but I am expecting to be as forgive as the Forged 923
Very informative and entertaining...going out to hit them!
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻
Love Mizuno irons. Just an observation...you stand a long way from the the ball
How do you feel that it compromises club head delivery? 👍🏻
Many golfers actually stand too close to the ball - after they've hit it!
Thanks fr your great review. compared with pro 225 what do you think? im in doubts between them...
Awesome stuff Jay. Thank you. I'd be interested to see the forgiveness with this and the i230 Power Spec. 1.5 degrees difference in loft and seem to chase the same golfer.
I just got fitted and it came down to the 923 forged and i230 power spec. The 923 was a tad more forgvinning in what I found!
That would make sense, power spec only makes the ball go longer, but without changing the CG of the head or changing head design, all power spec does is lower peak height and descent angle slightly. D Plane also increases which means curvature increases also. Most of the time I've found it best to run as close to stock lofts as possible as that's what the club technology and forgiveness design was built around. Good choice in the Forged 👍
I notice you only show the miss hits below average. Why not the bombers that are higher than the std dev. above the average as well?
Hi would you say these are better than 921 forged which I have is it worth upgrading?
Cheers
Jay, Please do a comparison of the JPX 923 and MP-225. I have the 919 forged and think that a move up to one of these would be an upgrade. I am going to get fit and would prefer the 225 looks but I am going to go with the better performing iron. Thanks
It's defo on the list 👍
I would have no problem having a 4-iron in the bag if I hit it 210+ yards. The dispersion is surely better than a hybrid?
Hi Simon, very much a horses for courses on the dispersion. Personally I have a much tighter dispersion front to back with a hybrid over a long iron. Left and Right there is next to nothing in it 👍
As a 25/30 Handicapper I just did a fitting today and got fitted into the 923 Forged. Was doing research and am shocked I was not put into the Hot Metals the fitter had me test and he said either are good for me and I choose the Forged. But now from everything Im reading, my handicap I should have been more into a Game Improvement Hot Metal?
I'll put your mind at rest a little and say that in all my time custom fitting, I have never selected the correct iron choice based on handicap. The handicap is a number of how many free shots you get! How those free shots are made up are purely down to the Golfer's own skillsets within a multifaceted game. So initially it will be on strike consistency, peak height requirements and ball speed needs. You only need the most helpful irons if you struggle with contact, or hit the ball too low. Only then, like for like lofted, will a GI iron help you.
If you don't need that help then the slightly, only slight less forgiving and helpful 923 Forged will be a great choice for an iron for now and also the future 👍🏻
@@AskGolfNut Thanks, I do think my high handicap was because I need clubs + .5 inch longer and 2 degree upward lie angle. As good as I was hitting the proper length club I suspect I will half my handicap in no time. Thanks for the reassurance on the clubs
Would like to see your comparison of the MP 223 and the JPX 923 Forged
Not quite the natural bridging option but I can see why it would be a good video 👍
Would you replace the gap wedge in the 923 F with s23 wedge? I’m switching from Taylor made speed blades. Noticed that the speed blade 50 degree looks more like the S23.
Only if I needed the forgiveness from the more centred CG of the S23 or the bounce and grind options you have which the GW doesn't offer. As a general rule the less able ability wise the golfer is the less likely they are going to need Specialist wedges although that's a generalisation. The more abled short game players, the more versatility they need in a wedge to be able to produce shots 👍🏻

With the 7 iron the middle strick was 186, should the toe and heel strike deviation be calculated off that rather than averages?
If I could guarantee to swing exactly the same speed, deliver the exact same path and face to path, the same dynamic loft etc then yes you would be right. However unfortunately for me I'm human so going by the averages (what all golfers need go know as a measure of the normal performance not just their peak) it enables a comparison between the good and the miss strikes 👍
@@AskGolfNut Absolutely understand but we are not testing your ability right, the best unique point of your Vids is testing the performance of the club on various locations on face which some may refer to as forgiveness. Not sure if i'm coming across the right way.
Sorry I think I must misunderstand what your question is then, my fault. Can you rephrase or contact me via instragram 👍
This line is a huge upgrade for lefty’s.
I am left handed in nearly everything I do. I'm lucky though to have switched to right handed when I was a junior. Equipment is much more difficult to get hold of and at sometimes disadvantaged to the right handed player due to restrictions of custom fit.
Thanks for the comment and for watching 👍
@@AskGolfNut yeah luckily Mizuno is offering the HMP and Forged this year in LH. I find the most disadvantage in the used market.
IS it worth switching from 225 to 923 irons, for 923's forgiveness and distance?
I'd say probably not if it was for the Forged, those and the 225's are the same loft and the technology works fairly similar. Obviously no harm in testing and you might be surprised, but on paper I'd have to guess no real difference 👍
@@AskGolfNut what about the non forged 923's...Is the difference minimal between 225 and non forged 923? say a few yards?
@@AskGolfNut Also do you do zoom lessons?
@@giomusah2155 I do, have done many. More so during lockdowns etc. Best contact me either on email askgolfnut@gmail.com or contact via instragram 👍
Scratching my head a bit. I thought all you brits liked to play the ball low and, out of the wind. You know, links style golf. For me my 4 iron goes as far as my hybrid. I play a links style course and am getting rid of my hybrid for a 2 iron this year.
I think the general consensus is that everyone thinks it's always windy here on mud island and we all play links golf 😊 in reality links golf in the UK isn't as common as people think and it's more parkland courses. Being able to utilise flight is an important part and also to control flight if needed as we are always into the wind on some occasions 👍🏻
