Rammstein do not typically play songs off of the Rosenrot album live. They usually play Benzin and one or two others, but most of the album is neglected live. I think its a shame, this album is truly amazing.
This song inspired one of the best stories I've ever written, and I listened to it profusely while I started writing it. Interestingly enough, when I went back to look at the translations here, I found out that the lyrics fit the main antagonist PERFECTLY...just wow.

My computer isn't working right now, so I have to use library computers and my phone for internet use - but I will try to publish and share it. ;) But in summary, it's about a woman from one of the Allied countries during WWII, who has been captured by the Germans, and the leader of the group has an intense devotion to the Nazi party (as expected). He rapes and abuses her physically, verbally, and emotionally, and it may seem as though he purely hates her - but one of the reasons he tortures her is because somehow he finds himself attracted to her, and he's angry with fate that she has to be "a mongrel." And of course she gets some kind of Stockholm syndrome, because she finds that she herself might be attracted to him as well. It's arguably one of the most screwed up stories my brain has ever produced, but I can't help it. XD

She looks beautiful, but he cant reach her (kann man nicht binden=cant be bound). He tries to catch her but he is burned in the water (Im Wasser verbrannt) where his women is swimming. So this song is about relationships...

i listened to it a few times and it never dawned on me that he raped her, what i got was that he grabbed her(got her attention), but he had slippery hands and was cold(but she slipped from his grip when he wasnt doing great on getting her to like him), in other words he tried and failed and now hes broken, thats what i got from it p.s keep in mind this is germany, ppl swim naked in public there
