EXPLORING INDIA GATE IN DELHI 🇮🇳

  • While walking around India Gate, this lady got me good! A whole ten rupees! 😆
The main topic and the majority of this video I talk about another RUclipsr's video on how she was ashamed that India was doing these things for so long after India had gained its independence from Britain. I mention just 3 or 4 of the things she mentions in her video so if you want to see her video and her explanation, please watch it here. • It's a shame that we h...
At the end of the video, I offer my two cents on why I think events unfolded the way they did and the reason you didn't necessarily see a complete cleansing of all things British in India. The biggest reason I believe there wasn't a "clean house" moment in India is because there wasn't a war fought between the two sides. Also, I think the British were trying to protect their economic interests and try to leave India on as good of terms as possible. That might have worked.
In comparison to the Dutch and how they handled things post WW2, they tried to come back to Indonesia and reclaim their colony. A bloody 4-year war ensued and in the end Indonesia won its independence. Other than the old crumbling colonial buildings, you'd be really hard-pressed to find any trace of the Dutch colonial past in Indonesia these days.
In the end, both countries gained their independence and now are free of their colonial oppressors, and that's all that matters.

So, what are the chances she was a real teacher for orphans?
On a serious note, would love to hear your thoughts on the main topic in the video, which is why it took so long to remove statues and change street names, etc.

12:55 I said there really wasn't a war in India. Here I was referring to the time directly following WW2. But to say there wasn't an independence war like Indonesia's isn't entirely true. There was the Sepony Mutiny, also known as the First Independence War, fought in 1857 against the British East India Company. It was because of this mutiny and attempted revolution that brought about the end of the British East India Company and the beginning of direct British Monarch control in India.

There was a mutiny even prior to Indian Independence in the Indian navy which then spread to Indian Army and Indian Air Force as well.

Biju Patnaik and his wife Gyanwati, flew to Java, dodging the Dutch guns, he entered Indonesian airspace and landed on an improvised airstrip near Jakarta. Using left-over fuel from abandoned Japanese military dumps, Patnaik took off with prominent rebels, including Sultan Sjahrir and Achmad Sukarno, for a secret meeting with Nehru at New Delhi and brought out on a Douglas C-47 (Dakota) military aircraft reaching India via Singapore on 24 July 1947. For this act of bravery, Patnaik was given honorary citizenship in Indonesia[5] and awarded the 'Bhoomi Putra',[6] the highest Indonesian award, rarely granted to a foreigner. In 1995, when Indonesia was celebrating its 50th Independence Day, Biju Patnaik was awarded the highest national award, the Bintang Jasa Utama.[7]
In 2015, Sukarno's daughter Megawati Sukarnoputri recounted how it was Patnaik who suggested she be named Meghavati or "daughter of clouds". She, whose full name is Diah Permata Megawati Setiawati Sukarnoputri, later became Indonesia's first female president, serving from 2001 to 2004.
In 2021, the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi designated a room in the name of Patnaik. On the walls of the Patnaik room are photographs, newspaper clippings and letters that document Mr. Patnaik's secret assignments to fly out Indonesian leaders, as well as his relations with the Indonesian leadership.

India is a big and diverse country, but most foreigners tend to visit the same cities. The most beautiful places in India aren't found in these big cities; they're in the Himalayan valleys and villages, Indian islands, the northeastern part of India, the Western Ghats and Eastern Ghats, the Sunderbans, and the Thar Desert.
If you're still in India, I can suggest some historical and beautiful places you can search online to see how beautiful they are. Ladakh, North Sikkim, Meghalaya, Lakshadweep Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Aru Valley, Sonamarg, Pahalgam, Spiti Valley, Sangla Valley, Parvati Valley, Kalpa, Dharamshala, Dalhousie, Kerala, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Auroville, Nagaland, Jaisalmer, Gokarna, Rann of Kutch, and Hampi are some of the best places you should visit in India.
Additionally, here are some of the best historical buildings India has ever produced: Phugtal Monastery, Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Khajuraho Temples, Key Monastery, Tawang Monastery, Badami Caves, Konark Sun Temple, Rani Ki Vav, Barabar Caves, Living Root Bridges in Meghalaya, Harihar Fort, Prabalgad Fort, Dharmarajeshwara Temple, Karnala Fort, Raigad Fort, Gwalior Fort, Basgo Monastery, Mahabodhi Temple, Nalanda University, Sanchi Stupa, Brihadeeswarar Temple, Mehrangarh Fort, Amber Fort, Statue of Unity, and Jaisalmer Fort.
If you're looking for a relaxing island experience in India, then consider visiting the Lakshadweep Islands or Andaman and Nicobar Islands. They have crystal-clear blue waters and white sand beaches that are much better than any other beaches in India. My top 5 recommendations definitely include Ladakh, North Sikkim, Meghalaya, Andaman Islands, and Pahalgam or Spiti Valley.

nearly 4 million Indians fought in the two world war because of Gandhi who was loyal servant of the colonisers. in the both World Wars he told Indians to fight for the British. because of him about 200000 lost life and more went missing. for him fighting violent war for the British is Indians duty but fighting for independence violently is wrong. whenever there were serious freedom movement in ind Gandhi told everyone to give up arms and do non violent movement. because of Netaji's INA and World War 2 when India got its freedom the distorted history written by the British which includes giving all the credit to Gandhi was made the official history and still it is taught in the the schools and colleges.
