Who on your team has HARD CARRIED another player?
Part 1: ruclips.net/video/O6alcghFeRI/видео.html
crosby has carried every linemate hes ever had, most notably tho chris kunitz! carried him all the way to Olympic Gold!!
Matthews carried hyman and marner
@@miken8889 Facts!!!
Tavares made Bailey an All-Star
@@williambennett5989 no maybe Hyman but not marner
Markov helped many of his partners to get a big pay day. Sheldon Souray, Mike Komisarek, Alexei Emelin, even PK.
I didint see your coment made the same lol
That's the first thing that came to my mind as soon as the video finished loll
ya komisarek did more work behind the bench for the leafs then he did on the ice after his payday
True. You’d think the coaches and managers would realize the real reasons.
Emelin got paid for hitting though right?
Zach Hyman is also blessed, goes from playing with Matthews to McDavid…
Literally swaps between Draisaitl and McDavid, like dream job for a winger imo
The 007 goldeneye pause menu music is an instant classic. Should be in the background of every video moving forward lol
Kunitz and Dupuis were definitely carried by Crosby. They were respectable players, but they definitely wouldn’t have had as many points as they did in 2012-13 without Sid.
kunitz got carried by crosby to the olympics
Rob Brown in 88-89, played for the Pens on a line with Mario Lemieux, got 115 points in 68 games. Pretty insane. Brown never came close to those totals after that season.
Was just about to mention him
Warren Young
Rob Brown was the first guy who came to mind when seeing this video thumbnail, lol.
He was on the first list
Kevin Stevens
To be fair to Abdelkader: his tenure in Europe was very successful. He joined at the end of my teams regular season and played 9 games, scoring 4 goals, 4 assists, for eight points, 1 game winner. Playoffs 13 games, 6 goals 3 assists for nine points, 3 game winners... but even more importantly he brought the much needed grit to a team who was a bit lacking in that department... our team won the title after a 23 year draught and I am of the firm opinion he was an important part of that success...
Definitely! He’s still a great player, especially with his gritty playing style which is instrumental to any playoff run.
@@RobTalksHockey here a little sneak peek from one of the final games in the Playoffs.... ruclips.net/video/VL_NrexoXso/видео.html
Meh he was still mediocre
Are you guys gonna sign him to a 7 year 30mm contract?
@@swinkmibby no. only nhl and khl grow money apparently on trees. And our market is too small for such amounts. 30mm is probably the total yearly budget for the whole team for most of our domestic league. And that includes not only salary of the roster players but also stadium rent, youth teams, scouting, coaching and medical staff etc.
This setup > any previous setup
Love the background every video 😂
What’s the story behind holding the mic? What’s the upside?
fun fact, only thing burke said he did wrong with the twins, was draft them in the wrong order!!
lol
How can there be a wrong order when he drafted them tied for 2nd?
@@aralornwolf3140 on paper, one is drafted 2nd, the other is drafted 3rd, im positive you can figure out the rest!
@@miken8889 ,
Pfft! Mere Technicalities. :D
@@aralornwolf3140 pft, why you getting upset with me, when Burke was the one who said it?
Datsyuk and Z carried the whole team for the last few years of their careers. Literally!! That’s why Z had to retire early, his back gave out after carrying the team by himself after Datsyuk went home.
Kronwall too!!!!!!!!
U could name every linemate i played with in nhl21.
Obviously 🤣🤣
A 80 overall became a 89 playing 1 season with me in NHL 19 I believe
Brad Boyes was carried to a 43 goal season by an aging Paul Kariya, I'm sure Kariya did similar things for other players as well
Matt Moulson who owes Tavares his entire career.
I loved moulson. To this day he was the only player to have chemistry with Tavares. Sad to see how hard he fell off after he was traded
Actually I just fact checked it and he never really fell off. In his first 3 seasons in buffalo he put up 41points then 21 then 32 and in his 4th season he only played 14 games and didn’t get a single point and Buffalo pulled the plug on him. He was 34 then so they prob thought he was out of juice
@@AMan_629 the only islanders player maybe but definitely not the only player. He set career highs since leaving
A prime example of this is Joé Juneau, his rookie year in Boston. Playing alongside Cam Neely and Adam Oates, he scored over 100 points, finishing second in rookie scoring to Teemu Salanne. Partway through the following season he was traded to the Capitals and his production for the most part steadily declined the rest of his career.
Pat maroon went from a good scorer and playing with mcjesus and won 3 stanley cups afterwards
Carried****
I'm a lifelong Wings fan and I love Abdelkader, he was a great player at Michigan State but that contract was way overvalued. Ken Holland had some horrendous contracts towards the end of his time in Detroit.
Players who were hard carried: anyone who ever played with Lemieux
Not Jagr, or Crosby?
Except Ron Francis. He put up points everywhere he played. The guy had 90-100 point seasons with the Hartford Whalers before Lemieux and 70 points seasons with Carolina after Lemieux.
Rob Brown
Not Jagr or Stevens tho.
Kevin Stevens is always in the middle of this for me. 408 points (190 goals) in four years in the early 90's, playing with Lemieux. Still a point per game player in the lockout season (94-95'), then never topped 43 pts after that. But he had also turned 30 by then. How much of the decline was age/lesser talent in general around him, and how much was Mario specficially?
wouldnt mind more of these, this was so good
Bernie Nicholls 150 points in 88-89... thank you Wayne Gretzky
Nicholls was a legitimate star before Gretzky. Not a superstar, but pretty good.
Nicholls put up 40 goals and 100 points before gretzky
@@chrisuncleahmad look at the years after he would never score 70 without gretz
@@ronaldwayne7092 150 tho... 70 goals... come on
chris kunitz, carried all the way to an olympic gold!
and some cups as well.
to be fair, Crosby and Kunitz were kinda partners in crime and great buddies. Pretty sure i remember hearing Crosby wanted to have kunitz on his line in the Olympics too.
@@yoru4441 yeah that's how kunitz got carried all the way to a gold! He should have never been on that team canada roster, but he was
Kunitz had success in Anaheim prior to coming to the pens though…
@@michaelgruss1272 not enough to get his ass on the Olympic roster!! I don't consider him being carried in Pittsburgh, I consider his Olympic roster placement a carry, cause he wouldn't be in that spot without Crosby!!
Abdelkader clicking with Datsyuk was a very unique phenomenon. "Pulling Datsyuk's piano" somehow worked, and the line had good production. Take away the specific chemistry and Abby unfortunately falls off a cliff offensively. I was a fan of Abby's, actually got to meet him after a Griffin's game. Wish he could have kept somewhat serviceable 2nd line production going after Pavel left, but it just didn't work out.
Honestly favorite hockey u tuber
Love the setup lol
Jonathan Cheechoo went from a grinding 3rd line winger and turned into the NHL goal scoring champ when Joe Thornton arrived in San Jose.
My favourite Saskatoon Blade growing up instantly comes to mind. Devin Setoguchi getting carried by Big Joe in San Jose
Did you know that the earth is also carried by a star
best comment so far
Wooo look at that BACKSPLASH son, Rob's moving up in the world. And special mention to the soundtrack. Love me some 007
Saw the thumbnail and instantly knew this would be about Datsyuk banking goals in off Abdelkader.
As wings fans we still loved Abby all the years he was here, and still respect him as a long-time Wing. He played a good role when we were a winning team still in the playoff streak years. He was just getting older as the team started to decline. When it was clear the rebuild was near, and it was time to move on.
McDavid was carried by 3 time Stanley Cup champion big rig Pat Maroon
Antropov and ponikorvosky were both carried by Mats Sundin
All respect to Pav, but Hank was also on that line and deserves some respect for it
Datsyuk and Z carried the whole team for the last few years of their careers. Literally!! That’s why Z had to retire early, his back gave out after carrying the team by himself after Datsyuk went home.
In fact, it was mostly Zetterberg and NOT Datsyuk that contributed to his success. He was rarely on a line with Datsyuk, and when he sad, Z was also on that line.
Henrik was on Pavs line let's not get carried away here
@@unklemute1187
Shockingly Zetterberg and Datsyuk were only on each other's line 18.6% of their ice time in 2015-16 (when Abdelkader was putting up points.)
Zetterberg was on a line with Abdelkader 69.1% of his ice time whereas Datsyuk was on a line with Abdelkader only 13.5% of the time.
So yeah.... Let's get carried away!
@@Bravelittletoaster1914 I was just making a joke that Pav carried Zetterberg. I believed you the first time my friend.
Those Datsyuk highlights against the Sharks hurt lol
Rob, I always remember Bernie Nichols being carried by the Great One. Could be a good one for part three
I wouldn't say he got carried. He played 1.5 seasons with Gretzky but averaged 1.07 points per game over his whole career
I live in Kimberley BC. I think you’re in Van, and ya dude this year it’s been hot as balls indeed!
in the 90s - Gino Odjick (fighter) played on the same line as Pavel BURE, and Pavel would sometimes feed Gino easy goals as he had a bonus clause in his contract. He went from a 3 goal scorer, to a 17 goal season that year.
Adam Oates (passit) and Brett Hull.
Love how you commented on your sweat as a Canadian myself I know the feeling bud! 😂
Not enough people realize that Canada in the summer gets unbearibly humid. I have an american aunt who thought "oh ill just come visit you guys in ontario in July cuz itll be cooler than virginia". She wasnt pleased when she got here 😂 humidity is fucked. Friday in Ottawa was nearly impossible to breathe in
Abby was scoring goals just standing where he was told to. Datsyuk was banking shots off his big ass! Lmao
I smiled outloud
I was having a good day why you gotta remind me of that Abdelkader contract.
Jonathan Cheechoo when Joe Thornton came to the Sharks. Thornton single handedly turned him into a 50 goal scorer in 06. He was out of the league by 2010.
He already covered that in part 1
Great video
Nice topic 🤘
Pretty sure Jonathan Cheechoo was carried to that Rocket by Joe Thornton.
Part 1
8:35 I think the word you are looking for is respectively.
Respectively - separately or individually and in the order already mentioned (used when enumerating two or more items or facts that refer back to a previous statement).
I don't know why the Sedins got so much hate they Had some of the best character the game has ever seen they seemed like great Guys off the ice, Even when the Canucks had that hated group of players form around 2009 to 2014 I always loved the Sedins
a) Because they're on the canucks
b) Because they were pretty soft players
Part of it would probably be their style of play. The cycle stuff they liked to do was extremely effective but it didnt make for terribly exciting hockey to watch.
@@siddiq106 they were some of the toughest guys in the league. Henriks Ironman record speaks gor itself
they also look kinda creepy
I remember thinking Abdelkader was a steal when he got signed again. Gota laugh at it now how hard Datsyuk and Zetterberg carried him.
I havent watched the first one yet, but if they werent mentioned there: Mike Krushelnyski playing with Gretzky comes to mind
That gray and red wings jersey is sick. Gotta see if I can find one
Can’t believe none of Crosby’s linemates are here… sheary? Kunitz? Dupuis? Rust? The list goes on and on…
THANK YOU!!
Rust was actually very good two seasons ago when crosby was injured. Underrated player for sure
If I remember correctly, Kunitz was in the previous video.
BJ MacDonald 79-80 Oilers played with Gretzky and had 94 points. After that highest NHL point total was 43 and then played minors and Europe. Afterwards heard quote that a fire hydrant could have gotten that type of production playing with Gretzky in that era.
It’s true, I was the fire hydrant
Yep, I was thinking about that fire hydrant comment when I posted about McDonald.
"there are guys that play the piano, and guys that carry it" -Pavel Datsyuk, on Abdelkaeder
It's been really hot in edmonton too, We've had a couple heat waves this summer. Thank god for air conditioning
Dude isn't it awful? Roastin here in Calgary for weeks on end. I'm sick of it. I'm moving to Iqaluit.
Really any winger who played with the Sedins over the years. At the same time, I remember how hard it was to get someone to stick with them. Burrows scored 30 goals with them and then never scored another goal the rest of his career.
The most famous carried player remains Rob Brown.
i wonder if jake guentzel and bryan rust will make future editions of this video
A big example of being carried by a star is Warren Young. In the 1984/1985 he has barely played much in the NHL with the Penguins but they drafted Lemieux and Young scored 40 goals and 72 points playing in a line with 19 year old Mario Lemieux. After that season he managed one more somewhat full year in the NHL and scored 22 goals and then couldn’t make the league when he got signed by Detroit.
Another good example with Mario carrying someone is Rob Brown. Brown was in his second year in the league and playing with Lemieux helped him score 49 goals and 115 points. After that year Brown was a fringe NHLer
I was about to comment Sedins and burrows then I watched the video haha
LOL if I had to guess, I'd say you made this video during the heat dome.
Brent Fedyk
Before the Philadelphia Flyers had the Legion of Doom, they had a line known as the "Crazy 8's". At Center was #88, the Big E himself, Eric Lindros. At Right Wing, you have #8 and fellow Hall of Famer Mark Recchi. And at Left Wing you have #18... Brent Fedyk.
A first rounder by Detroit in the 1985 draft, Fedyk didn't see a full time spot on the Red Wings until the 1990-91 season, and during his time in Detroit tallied just 24 goals across 162 games. While he had one season with 16 goals in 90-91, he never finished another season through 91-92 with more than 5.
Moving to the Flyers just in time for the arrival of Lindros and Recchi, Fedyk saw the most production of his career, seeing three seasons with 20+ goals, including the season he was traded to Dallas. It was this trade that more or less showed his true colors: with Philly in 95-96 he scored 10 goals in just 24 games, but with the Stars, he added only 10 more goals in 41 games.
The year after his exodus from Philly, Fedyk was away from the NHL for two seasons before he landed in New York with the Rangers... where he returned to his pre-Flyers production of 4 goals in 67 games in the 1998-99 season.
The next year, Brent Fedyk was out of the NHL entirely, but not without his place in the hearts of Flyers fans as the third member of the "Crazy 8's" line.
Matt Moulson was the king of getting carried. He was a good player, but Tavares made him a perennial 30-goal man. The shine really came off once he went to Buffalo.
Honestly everyone plays like garbage in Buffalo
When did you move the set to anywhere in Canada right now 😂🥵
Hey rob what was the music you used in this video
The two guys in my description. However, my buddy “Ryli” makes a lot of my beats!
There could be a whole video on just players who did well because they were on McDavid's line: Maroon, Kassian, Puljujarvi, Archibald, Rattie, Slepyshev, Lucic...
Nikita kucherov and Brayden Point carried by Pat Maroon
Matt Moulson by John Tavares, Kyle Okposo by John Tavares, PA Parenteau by John Tavares.
Back when I was playing I remeber one season. I played on the third line for the first 6 games and for game 7 our left winger from the fist line was injured. And i scored 4+1 in that game as a netfront presense on that first line. I would just fight in the screen while the other 4 ran the game and then take a step out and get a pass on my stick and score a onetimer. Then my coach tried me on the second line and i thick i was like -5 in 2 games. Then back to my third line and the rest of the season like 10 games +1 2+6. I was alsways a grinder. And i really liked it. It was more fun to get the opponents star player focusing on me than me scoring 4 goals in a game
I really miss Abdelkader. I know Holland would overpay him but he was one of my favorite players on the wings
Your next video should feature Hyman being carried by matthews and Marner 😂
Rob has clearly been working hard at practice. He has the sweat as proof
6:33
Boone Jenner put up 30 goals in 15-16 and then signed a 2 year 2.9 mill and has since been on 3.75
It was a little while ago but Warren young playing with Lemieux and putting up 40 goals one yr and scoring 32 total in 6 years before and after
John Leclaire came up with Montreal and was then traded to Philly. Soon becoming Eric Lindros' linemate he scored 50 goals 4 years in a row. Before and after Lindros he couldn't even get close to those totals. I remember when Jan Hrdina became the center on a line with Lemeiux and Jagr. He did a lot better there than the 4th line.
I thought for sure when I saw Datsyuk that it was going to be about Damien Brunner. Tom Wilson was carried by Ovi
You have to do this video but with defensemen
I have been watching since 5k
A current example is definitely Tyson Barrie playing with McDavid/Draisatal.
He was great on the avs too though.
Damn, it must be a hot one up there eh? My buddies up in Ontario have said it's been hot af this year there.
Heatwave in Toronto for the past couple of weeks!
Idk if rob is from the Vancouver area (I assume so cuz Canucks) but yeah were going through a scorcher, hest waves and fires throughout the province, our first massive heat wave ended with a death toll of nearly 600 people
Currently in Alberta. And it’s about 35 degrees in my office lmao
Jonathan Cheechoo, he beat Jagr for most goals scored in 05-06 cause he was carried by Big Joe
Can’t believe you said “reminiscent” of Zach Hyman & Pat Maroon hahaha
They are both big bodied wingers who play a power game, who earn their money in front of the net. They are by no means the same player, but "reminiscent" is not a stretch
For anyone thinking Burrows was hard-carried, he wasn't (and I'm not saying Rob Talks said that). No, he wouldn't have scored 30 goal seasons without the Sedins but he was the heart of the team. If Burrows had an off night the team could be lethargic as a whole. When Burrows was on fire the team followed his lead. "So Burrows goes so do the Canucks." And now his leadership abilities are on further display as he seems to be on an express train to head coaching in the NHL. He was undrafted.
Kevin Stevens witht he Penguins. He went from a 110+ points per year to a nearly 30 points
Keep in mind though he had a terrible injury, so who’s to say the injury isn’t what caused his numbers to go down.
datsyuk carried the entire team not just ab's
Literally everyone who ever played with David Krejci.
Craig Janney carried Ken Hodge Jr to a 30 goal season in Boston then a foggy end. Something could also be said of Daniel Marois in Toronto but I can't recall who his center was. Ed Olczyk? Gilbert Dionne in Montreal is another.
I can't remember the exact line but I think Jonas Höglund was hard carried by Mats Sundin. He went from 6/8 goals a year to 30
2BC would be proud of the Connor McJesus reference.
I’m a Michigan native just now getting into hockey as a spectator/fan. I knew the Red Wings were successful but I had NO idea to that extent.
They had a 26 year streak of reaching the playoffs...
@@aralornwolf3140 Well damn
@@JawaPenguin16 ,
They traded too many prospects and draft picks to keep that trend... but they realize that the end was near when they didn't have draft picks and prospects in their program, lol. They tore their team down and are nearing the end of the rebuild. Look for future playoff success in a few years or so. :)
Poor guy, I started watching the Wings back in 98’. So I’ve seen three cups and the entirety of Datsyuk’s career. Hard to watch them at the moment but Stevie is going to fix it hopefully.
You should add some bronzer to your sweat setup to make it pop more, and make it part of the persona.
The buffalo sabres were carried by Hasek and Miller
Maroon's points might've suffered from not getting easy rebound/tip/dump in goals, but he plainly lifts the morale of his teams. The guy is a pure enforcer, and he keeps other teams from getting chippy with his team, which is why the Oilers had their best season in decades with him around, and were desperate enough to pull in Kassian to fill the role unsuccessfully after he was gone.
I think the present bruins jerseys home and away are too busy... I think I'd like to go back to the white and black 68/69 jerseys with a minimal touch up.... as well as the 1961 bruins yellow jersey as 3rd with minimal touch up
i looked at anson carter #77 and immediately thought of jeff carter
Love the shirt as much as the content. But I have some unfortunate news, please, come to the gazebo.
No. Anything but the gazebo zone…
Maroon took at least a 1-2million pay cut to play in STL. Look at how late in the off season he signed. Dude literally waited to see how much was left under the cap and was the last player to sign. Took a home town discount and it payed off.
Not only Datsuyk, he played with Zetterberg aswell lol
Sedins also made Jannik Hansen a 20 goal scorer
Jonathan cheechoo got carried by Joe Thornton
In the first video.
In Montreal, Carey Price is pivotal in any success they have had since he was drafted by the team. Last year is no exception if I am being honest.
Go Habs Go!
Yeah without price they wouldnt have got out of the 1st round.
*The worst part about the Justin Abdelkader scenario, was that he was also chosen as Captain for the 2013-14 WC. He isn't even a preferred Top 6 forward there, and thats like 60% of the league. Kevin Bieksa as Canada's captain was an odd choice, too.*
#CountdownTo60K
i had no idea pat maroon ever had a season with more than 15 goals wow
