  • Why drive to the enemy when the enemy can come to you?..... with a firing range of 10km the SU 122 can destroy any target without the enemy even knowing who's firing at them, or where they are.
For the record I do not play Tank crew in VR as it involves looking at very small things from a great distance, which in VR is tricky due to lower resolution, not to mention the excessive head shake when using binoculars which makes it impossible to spot any distant tank watching you. Tanks in VR is fun, but you are at quite a disadvantage when your target is more than 1000m away.

If only I had binoculars I’d be even more accurate at that distance. SU122 is the only tank where the commander can’t open a hatch and look out. A very restricted view when using this. So the magnification in the gunsight is at about half of what you get with binoculars making it hard to tell if you’ve hit the target or missed. With the SU152 all is well, commander can pop out with his bins and check the target and range, but a lot of the time in Finnish you don’t get the SU152, only the 122. The 152 can shell targets up to 12km away but the 122 is only good up to 10km. Need a spotter plane, but what I do is fly the area in an IL2 and take screenshots of the target areas or airfields to get a better idea of how far spread out the objects are.
