Diane, I agree! That was the Groove! This cut is Lit and should have debuted and done well both on the Pop as well as R&B charts. You know what's up! You know good music.
Carla Linton. I love Ms. Diana Ross. She is one of my favorite Female Soul Artists of all times. One of my favorite songs by Ms.Diana Ross is called. Let's Go Up.this is one of my favorite old school jams back in the day.
I remember when she had her concert in NYC in central park. Diana was so beautiful in that Orange diamond stunned body suit. She opened with let's go up. With her singing and the excitement of her fans the concert was electric with the joy and excitement of day. Unfortunately the concert got rained out that day but Ms. Ross promised she would be back the day next day she kept promise her to fans. The success and smash hit. I enjoyed myself Diana Ross didn't disappoint.
This album came out in Germany after the album "Baby it's me" (1977 / 1978 ???). But without “Pieces of Ice”. The cover photo is even older. I was super happy. I found the "Baby it's me" album to be very retro - old-fashioned. And the songs on the new album ("Ross") were very modern and I loved them (I was enthusiastic). The fact that this album (without Pieces of Ice) came out in Germany much earlier than 1983 has now been completely forgotten. Years ago I still was able to find a clue on the Internet. Not anymore.
Comin' back on Comin' back strong Turnin' back on Takin' the heat out in the street Baby too long Can you tell me how much fire Will it take to get us higher Hearin' the news, singin' the blues You gotta choose Stand up and fight, do it tonight What can you lose In a world of fading treasure Love is the greatest pleasure So let's go up, forget about down 'Cause in this town, it's gonna get rough And what goes down, is up to us So let's go up, baby let's go up When it gets hot, like it or not You wanna run Though it's so warm here in my arms You won't get burned In a world of fading treasures The pleasure of your treasures Can not be measured up I can't free a person from their chains But I'll tell you this for sure If nothing is ventured Then nothing is gained, let's go
Diana Ross performed the song she is maniac with a famous dance instructor. It was a hot steamy dance number. She didn't sing the song but she danced to it that day. I never forget that day in central park it was a blast. Michael Jackson is right I believe the song he wrote was inspired Diana Ross called naughty Diana because she was certainly naughty that day during that performance. They might have filmed it for RUclips catch it on RUclips if you are fan.
THIS is the jam that should have led off the sales campaign for this album. LOVE this song! Diva is SANGING!!!

Awesome!I had forgotten about this song but I still love it!
One of my favorites as well. This was simply the Jam. Very positive message. She put her Angelic voice into this and brought us the Message.

Comin' back on
Comin' back strong
Turnin' back on
Takin' the heat out in the street
Baby too long
Can you tell me how much fire
Will it take to get us higher
Hearin' the news, singin' the blues
You gotta choose
Stand up and fight, do it tonight
What can you lose
In a world of fading treasure
Love is the greatest pleasure
So let's go up, forget about down
'Cause in this town, it's gonna get rough
And what goes down, is up to us
So let's go up, baby let's go up
When it gets hot, like it or not
You wanna run
Though it's so warm here in my arms
You won't get burned
In a world of fading treasures
The pleasure of your treasures
Can not be measured up
I can't free a person from their chains
But I'll tell you this for sure
If nothing is ventured
Then nothing is gained, let's go
