If I relied on just my or any other government propoganda I would be a fool. I was told that a Israeli pilot was treated for spinal injuries by my family friend Dr Yousf Mirza at Chaklala Air Base Rawalpindi. He had blonde hair and without dought he was of European decent. Second pilot body was burnt to ashes with only major bones partially intact. We presumed second pilot was Indian. It is not of any propoganda value to hide or publish this back in Feb/2019 or now. It is satisfactory that we protected our air space. What weapons system we used is of no importance using catapult, crossbow or a hypersonic missile or a pea shooter. Results are matter of survival for our nation. We save service time of F16 by using cheaper JF17. Aqusation / operating cost of F16 is 2 to 3 times the cost of JF17. So we use JF17 which we have plenty of and save F16 for major conflict should they begin. Many of our F16 have been converted to carry nuclear munitions and we will only use them if forced to do so. JF17 designed by pilots and engineers who had thousands of hours on F16s. That's the reality and it's manufacture on latest machine tools and jigs. Considering all the financial limits PAF /Chingdu have produced excellent weapons platform, may not be World's best, but if used in organised manner can destroy any intruder by using smart high performance missiles. We know our opposition will be working hard to find counter our weapons, we don't intend to sit still either, we will continue to up skill and overwhelm any weapon system any existing or new enemy threatens our nation.

Indian here. Even though I am totally glad that we have achieved this feat with ASAT missile, but come on man, is that even a comparison. Like yes, if you're kidding your way through, and was a light hearted comment, then totally cool, but if you're really comparing a satellite with a F-16. Man come on, that doesn't even stand as a comparison. On one hand you have a satellite which has a pre-determined path and whose path is not altered in any way (even if you know that you're going to intercept it). The only thing that needed to be done was seek it, and intercept it and that's it, you have blasted a satellite. But coming to F-16. It isn't even close to that, these are fighter jets. They can, sense an on-coming missile, counter it with their, make quick manoeuvres, fire flares, use their afterburners to rapidly change their altitude while the missile loses their trail and many other. So basically, there are just too many permutations and combinations that a F-16 pilot can use to escape from an on-coming missile. Brother, as a fellow Indian, the only thing I would say is, I'm extremely proud of my country making great advances. I wish and truly hope that my country becomes a superpower in the coming decade. But at the same time, it will really be unappreciative if we demean other marvels of engineering such as F-16. Peace.

We have always had that problem. In 1971 IAF used a far inferior Folland Gnats were flying against far superior F86 Sabre (Canadair Sabre Mk6). IAF overwhelmed PAF then, and will crush them every time! The reason - tactical and conditioning superiority. IAF may have been a financially constrained Airforce... but our pilots are one of the best trained and disciplined soldiers of the skies. Traditionally west has always tried to stop India from getting advanced technology and equipment. May it be our space program, nuclear science, medicine or agricultural research... India has always found direct or indirect resistance from UK-US and their allies. This is also the very reason of India's dependence on Russia for defense technology. However, the result is that today we are among world's top countries and probably the only developing nation in the league of nation when we talk about Space, Satellite, Medicine, Infotech, Military etc. domains... and we are getting better each passing year! As for why Mig21Bison and not Su30MKI ... the answer is in tactics. Mig 21 is till date the fastest interceptor at top speed of Mach 2+ and an unmatched climb rate. With that, it is also one of the smallest in size and has a very small radar cross section (RCS) - that is, if it is flying high and is detected. Su30 on the other hand will be easily picked by radars because of its RCS. So this is what I think happened: PAF had the intention of bringing down Su30MKIs and that is why the F16s were lurking, armed with BVR missiles. However MIG21 was sent in to intercept and shoo away F16s instead. 2 Migs flew in low and fast, reaching within the kill radius distance of the armament in use - that is Vympel missiles... then they must have climbed up at top speed from right underneath... popping up on enemy radars and making the PAF greenhorns shit in their diapers ;) With such an element of surprise and at such close proximity, a skilled pilot can easily bring down a superior enemy aircraft. BVR capable, Gen5, Gen4+ blah blah blah... will count for nothing if the enemy is in already in cross-hair and gets to know a second later. A fraction of a second is the difference between life and death!
SU-30 MKI was used in the fight but it did not get chance to fire missile the Pakistani fighter jet turned around and crosses the LOC and the SU-30 were ordered to turn back and return to base but the mig 21 bizon pilot abhinandan did not obey the orders and chased the F-16 in to Pakistan and after shooting down F-16 he tryed to return to india but was shot down by a ground to air missile
Indian Mig-21 is not "old", it was modernized in 1998 and received an excellent radar "Kopyo" and new avionics allowing the use of modern missiles. In fact, the MiG-21 "Bizon" was upgraded to the 4th generation of fighters. This plane could well have shot down the F-16.

I have studied this topic for last 1 year based on the evidence that are provided by the government India has given some coordinates on radar and debris of Amra missile whereas Pakistan did not provided any radar coordinates or any related to proof. In the initial time it has been confirmed that there are two pilots which are capture one was hospitalised and one was with them so this statement they were sure on capturing 2 pilots and the one who is hospitalized got death in latter time so if it was an Indian pilot then it would have been dis closed that your pilot was dead. Since it was not disclosed and already on social media Abhinandan sir videos got viral so they cannot hide who was a pilot, secondly as per Geneva convention act you cannot disclose or portray the pilots details in public but it got publicised due to fragile security. Hands with the close proof it has been agreed that f-16 was used and it was shot down by mig 21 with no doubt.
The evidence provided by India was insufficient and the Radar imagery presented by India was labeled as "circumstantial" evidence by international experts. The AMRAAM shell only proves that an F-16 fired a Missile at an Indian Fighter. In no way does it prove that an F-16 was shot down. 2ndly there is no confirmation of any pilot other then WC Abhinadan. This statement u made that a pilot had died in the hospital is not based on evidence. The Pakistani spokesperson in a separate press conference clearly explained how the 2 pilot confusion was caused due to a duplicate reporting and sighting of WC Abhinadan's capture by 2 different Pak Army units. Since India has not provided any conclusive evidence to counter the retract in statement. Therefore there is no evidence that a 2nd pilot even existed. With no evidence of a F-16 wreckage or its pilot this claim by India remains "unverified" and in the international community this kill is "unrecognized"

Nowhere does the DG ISPR say a pilot in the hospital is dead. Infact nowhere does he give a location or say that the pilot was in Pakistan custody. Their delegation came and checked even engine part no and made it official that none of the F16 were missing as It would violate the treaty with US. Pakistan didn’t change her statement from two aircrafts being shot down to one aircraft being shot down. It changed her statement from two pilots being captured to one pilot being captured. PAF still claims that they have shot down two aircrafts. The MiG-21 and the Su-30 Mki which was shot down across the border in the Indian side. Moreover, the Su-30 being shot down was reported by the Indian media herself. The video of that report is on youtube. Later on, the Indian media covered it up and didn’t talk about it. Get your facts straight. You don’t even know what Pakistan’s official statement was and you’re sitting here analysing a video.

This is credible evidence that another aircraft was also shot down that day in the encounter. We know that the IAF parachute canopy is always in orange therefore this is not the Mig 21. Which concludes that this is an f16.

it's very clear, the aircraft in the first video is that of su30 which was shot down that day along with Mig21 by PAF. Both these videos were caught by local Kashmiris in PHK. The first video was caught from quite a huge distance which make it clear that the Indian Sukoi fell inside IOK & the second video is very clear which is that of MiG 21. I'm a resident of Azad kashmir currently living and studying in lahore. My hometown is the same area where Mig21 fell and I was home that day because of spring break. I saw myself There was only 1 plane which fell. There were 2 parachutes, we all thought there are two planes and two pilots but when the parachutes came down. One parachute was of abhinandan and one was attached to the ejection seat. And those parts of plane which were falling down were of one plane only. We didn't see any other plane or parachute that day. I'm an eye witness and uncle also made video of the whole incident. My request to indians is to stop making a fool out of yourself.

If I relied on just my or any other government propoganda I would be a fool. I was told that a Israeli pilot was treated for spinal injuries by my family friend Dr Yousf Mirza at Chaklala Air Base Rawalpindi. He had blonde hair and without dought he was of European decent. So we use JF17 which we have plenty of and save F16 for major conflict should they begin. Many of our F16 have been converted to carry nuclear munitions and we will only use them if forced to do so.
JF17 designed by pilots and engineers who had thousands of hours on F16s. That's the reality and it's manufacture on latest machine tools and jigs.
Considering all the financial limits PAF /Chingdu have produced excellent weapons platform, may not be World's best, but if used in organised manner can destroy any intruder by using smart high performance missiles.

Indian here. Even though I am totally glad that we have achieved this feat with ASAT missile, but come on man, is that even a comparison. Like yes, if you're kidding your way through, and was a light hearted comment, then totally cool, but if you're really comparing a satellite with a F-16. Man come on, that doesn't even stand as a comparison. On one hand you have a satellite which has a pre-determined path and whose path is not altered in any way (even if you know that you're going to intercept it). The only thing that needed to be done was seek it, and intercept it and that's it, you have blasted a satellite. But coming to F-16. It isn't even close to that, these are fighter jets. They can, sense an on-coming missile, counter it with their, make quick manoeuvres, fire flares, use their afterburners to rapidly change their altitude while the missile loses their trail and many other. So basically, there are just too many permutations and combinations that a F-16 pilot can use to escape from an on-coming missile.
Brother, as a fellow Indian, the only thing I would say is, I'm extremely proud of my country making great advances. I wish and truly hope that my country becomes a superpower in the coming decade. But at the same time, it will really be unappreciative if we demean other marvels of engineering such as F-16. Peace.

We have always had that problem. In 1971 IAF used a far inferior Folland Gnats were flying against far superior F86 Sabre (Canadair Sabre Mk6).
IAF overwhelmed PAF then, and will crush them every time!
The reason - tactical and conditioning superiority. IAF may have been a financially constrained Airforce... but our pilots are one of the best trained and disciplined soldiers of the skies.
Traditionally west has always tried to stop India from getting advanced technology and equipment. May it be our space program, nuclear science, medicine or agricultural research... India has always found direct or indirect resistance from UK-US and their allies. This is also the very reason of India's dependence on Russia for defense technology.
However, the result is that today we are among world's top countries and probably the only developing nation in the league of nation when we talk about Space, Satellite, Medicine, Infotech, Military etc. domains... and we are getting better each passing year!
As for why Mig21Bison and not Su30MKI ... the answer is in tactics. Mig 21 is till date the fastest interceptor at top speed of Mach 2+ and an unmatched climb rate. With that, it is also one of the smallest in size and has a very small radar cross section (RCS) - that is, if it is flying high and is detected. Su30 on the other hand will be easily picked by radars because of its RCS.
So this is what I think happened:
PAF had the intention of bringing down Su30MKIs and that is why the F16s were lurking, armed with BVR missiles. However MIG21 was sent in to intercept and shoo away F16s instead.
2 Migs flew in low and fast, reaching within the kill radius distance of the armament in use - that is Vympel missiles... then they must have climbed up at top speed from right underneath... popping up on enemy radars and making the PAF greenhorns shit in their diapers ;)
With such an element of surprise and at such close proximity, a skilled pilot can easily bring down a superior enemy aircraft.
BVR capable, Gen5, Gen4+ blah blah blah... will count for nothing if the enemy is in already in cross-hair and gets to know a second later. A fraction of a second is the difference between life and death!
SU-30 MKI was used in the fight but it did not get chance to fire missile the Pakistani fighter jet turned around and crosses the LOC and the SU-30 were ordered to turn back and return to base but the mig 21 bizon pilot abhinandan did not obey the orders and chased the F-16 in to Pakistan and after shooting down F-16 he tryed to return to india but was shot down by a ground to air missile

Indian Mig-21 is not "old", it was modernized in 1998 and received an excellent radar "Kopyo" and new avionics allowing the use of modern missiles. In fact, the MiG-21 "Bizon" was upgraded to the 4th generation of fighters. This plane could well have shot down the F-16.

I have studied this topic for last 1 year based on the evidence that are provided by the government India has given some coordinates on radar and debris of Amra missile whereas Pakistan did not provided any radar coordinates or any related to proof. In the initial time it has been confirmed that there are two pilots which are capture one was hospitalised and one was with them so this statement they were sure on capturing 2 pilots and the one who is hospitalized got death in latter time so if it was an Indian pilot then it would have been dis closed that your pilot was dead. Since it was not disclosed and already on social media Abhinandan sir videos got viral so they cannot hide who was a pilot, secondly as per Geneva convention act you cannot disclose or portray the pilots details in public but it got publicised due to fragile security. Hands with the close proof it has been agreed that f-16 was used and it was shot down by mig 21 with no doubt.
The evidence provided by India was insufficient and the Radar imagery presented by India was labeled as "circumstantial" evidence by international experts.
The AMRAAM shell only proves that an F-16 fired a Missile at an Indian Fighter. In no way does it prove that an F-16 was shot down.
2ndly there is no confirmation of any pilot other then WC Abhinadan. This statement u made that a pilot had died in the hospital is not based on evidence.
The Pakistani spokesperson in a separate press conference clearly explained how the 2 pilot confusion was caused due to a duplicate reporting and sighting of WC Abhinadan's capture by 2 different Pak Army units. Since India has not provided any conclusive evidence to counter the retract in statement. Therefore there is no evidence that a 2nd pilot even existed.
With no evidence of a F-16 wreckage or its pilot this claim by India remains "unverified" and in the international community this kill is "unrecognized"

PAF still claims that they have shot down two aircrafts. The MiG-21 and the Su-30 Mki which was shot down across the border in the Indian side. Moreover, the Su-30 being shot down was reported by the Indian media herself. The video of that report is on youtube. Later on, the Indian media covered it up and didn’t talk about it. All things being equal - and that means competent pilots of equal skill in both aircraft, the Mig 21 is going to lose to the F-16. This encounter is, in reality, a tribute to the training and quality of the pilots in the Indian Air Force.

its a weak analysis. Video didn't show planes clearly. If the plane had really shot down, it cannot be hidden like mig 21 and helicopter were seen. It is not possible to hide destroyed plane for anyone.

This is credible evidence that another aircraft was also shot down that day in the encounter. We know that the IAF parachute canopy is always in orange therefore this is not the Mig 21. Which concludes that this is an f16.

it's very clear, the aircraft in the first video is that of su30 which was shot down that day along with Mig21 by PAF. Both these videos were caught by local Kashmiris in PHK. The first video was caught from quite a huge distance which make it clear that the Indian Sukoi fell inside IOK & the second video is very clear which is that of MiG 21. India accept the downing of MiG b/c we have a wreckage & a pilot while your country deny to save their asses from embarrassment. You hit your own chopper not an F16. F16 is a nightmare for Indian Air force.

Pakistan retracted from their earlier statement that two IAF pilots were captured but they never retracted from their claim that two IAF planes had been shot: One fell on the Pakistani side while the other on to the Indian. So the second aircraft( according to Pakistan) is also an IAF one...perhaps a Su 30 MKI.
If pakistan claims on shooting down our Su 30 which is the costliest in our lot . The media has crosschecked our inventory and no su 30 is missing. Do you really think if we had lost one of our most costliest aircraft the media would be quite in this one or any one else present in our airforce

I'm a resident of Azad kashmir currently living and studying in lahore. My hometown is the same area where Mig21 fell and I was home that day because of spring break.
I saw myself There was only 1 plane which fell.
There were 2 parachutes, we all thought there are two planes and two pilots but when the parachutes came down. One parachute was of abhinandan and one was attached to the ejection seat. And those parts of plane which were falling down were of one plane only. We didn't see any other plane or parachute that day.
I'm an eye witness and uncle also made video of the whole incident.
My request to indians is to stop making a fool out of yourself.

Khoti k bachy US officially counted Pak f16 inventory and none of these were missing. Yet Pak have terms of agreement with Lockheed Martin that any incident or combat loss must have to be informed to LM in this case no such communication have been made. Yes there were two air crafts were hit or I would say 3 were hit one was IAF mi17 v5 the poor guy was hit by friendly fire. One was clear mig 21 which Pak retrieved with its full armament ie 2*R73 and 2*R77 missile which were not fired the other one was su 30 or mirage 2000. In the fog of war it was hard to determine types of air craft but surely it is an Indian plane.
