My heart sunk when you called over 40 old 😫 I’ll be 42 on Monday. The best part of growing older is being alive and still embracing life. I have so many friends that didn’t make it to 40, 30, hell, 20 even. It’s such a blessing to be able to get older.

I’ve done “girl dinner” for a while now without knowing what it was. I started when my kids were much smaller and we just call it a snack plate. My kids knew that if I asked them if they wanted a snack plate, they were just going to get a variety of several things it satisfies all the taste buds and makes you feel like you’re eating snacks but you’re getting all of your nutrition, win-win!
I read a quote about aging that hits harder since my dad died: “Don’t worry about growing older. It is a privilege denied to many.” I turned 40 this year, and trust I don’t feel 40 at all. It’s been a tough year for me, and there was a lot of turmoil in my personal life around my 40th birthday a few weeks ago. But it was like I could hear my dad whispering this to me on a soul level.

The worst part of getting older is the way younger ppl talk about it being such a horrible gross thing. The best part of growing older is.. being older. Oh Kendall... When you talked about dreading going through Holly's clothes i INSTANTLY teared up. Nobody talks about those parts of motherhood. My husband literally had to do it the first time because i attempted to do it once, and started bawling my eyes out. Just like you i attach memories to a lot of his outfits. My husband was great though. We both had the same certain outfits that we REALLY loved, and he folded them nicely, and put them in a cute little box. Personally, 40 is the absolute BEST for a woman. We are at our prime in every way. By the time we hit 50 we don’t care what ANYONE thinks about us at all. It’s freaking awesome! We are free to be ourselves and love ourselves and we know exactly who we are. The people around us are only people we love and value and trust and feel are worth our time and energy. If we are lucky enough to have a life partner they are clearly established as our Ride or Die. Life is good. No more unnecessary drama or anxiety over things that really don’t matter. It’s truly a privilege to grow older that not everybody gets. My cousin just passed away a couple weeks ago at age 21. I’m 31. He was such a bright person and I was so excited to see what the future held for him and suddenly he was gone in an instant. With each year you are still here, remember that it’s a blessing. ❤
The Amazon River is the largest river by volume but the Nile River is definitely the longest. I’m sure thats what Janelle thought the question was asking lol
Kendall, everyone told me terrible twos were the worst. my daughter is 2 years and 8 months and it has been so fun!!!! don't let people scare you! two is an awesome age! their speech really booms, they develop senses of humor and start telling jokes and do things to make you laugh. they develop their own interests and really just blossom as a person. It's so great!
This game had me dying. Did I even attend elementary school?! What 1st grader is learning about the Arizona corkscrew thing?! 😮 This was SUPER humbling 🤣
I agree with Sydney and Karelly about eating plants! The example of eating cherry or avocado pits would be eating the seed. We can’t eat those seeds, but humans can eat seeds.
@@makeupbyjulesI just interpreted the question to be more broad, not specific to a certain plant. Rose petals are technically leaves, and there are leaves humans can eat. I’m thinking of the parts of plants as a whole, not a part of a particular plant.
@@makeupbyjulesI just reread and realized you said stem. But still, I just think of it as being broad. There are stems we can eat. Asparagus, celery, broccoli, etc are stems.
@@Ell12776 didn't they say ALL plants though? Like they said I get that you could literally eat anything but would you be injured or get sick or die? Idk the question is just too confusing. I'm not good at test taking though lol
@@makeupbyjulesI believe the question was “humans can eat all parts of A plant” , not ALL plants. So according to google there are 20 parts of plants. We can eat some of all 20 parts.
In the UK we call "girl dinners" a "picky tea" or a "picky dinner", we would have them growing up when my mum couldn't be bothered to cook or - on reflection - probably when we were strapped for cash. "Girl dinner" sounds more sophisticated and intentional though 😅
These dinners were my favourite dinners growing up. Mu family are massive meat and pasta eaters so any chance I got to make my own food from random healthier ingredients was bliss. 😂
I just want you all to know how much joy you bring to your viewers. I in particular am going though a semi-difficult time right now, and every new episode you guys put out brightens my day. I just know that if we lived in the same state we would be besties lol. Keep up the amazing work, ladies! ❤
This episode highlights why standardized tests can be so messed up! Everyone comprehends the questions differently and sometimes they don't make sense at all. I was cracking up at the plant question, that was so wild to say y'all got it wrong 😂😂😂
Josh and Kendall what a wonderful interview about your parenthood and relationship, growing up together basically. 🥹 what a lovely thing to share with your audience. It’s great to see yalls marriage flourish over the years. And it’s very beautiful to hear Josh say he loves being less selfish and putting his wife and daughter before himself. He is going to be a great male role model for his future son! (And for Holly to look up to as well) Kendall , you’ve been radiating so much lately. Motherhood suits you very well. It’s obvious. May God continúe to bless you guys!❤
I love being older! I feel more comfortable in who i am with all the years of life I've had and learning myself and I'm excited for more of it! I'll be 34 in November. I'm also so thankful for life and how long I've had. I have lost many friends who never made it to 30 heck even 20. Growing older is a blessing.❤
I had lasik surgery and I'm so happy with it. I was legally blind (my vision still had color but everything was a giant blur of color I couldn't see anything). It was so bad they almost didn't approve my level of prescription needed, but they did approve. For the first time in my life I've been able to actually see. Even if I have to wear reading glasses down the line, I will never regret getting my surgery. And there's no pain when they open your eyes. You also don't have to worry about moving your eyes or anything the technology is advanced enough that it tracks your pupil.
I told my mom what girl dinner was and she goes “ummm we invented girl dinner?!” My dad works out of town so during the week we would never truly cook we would just do a bunch of random things 😂😂
It’s so funny to hesr Janelle talk about how the end of summer is depressing because she hates the cold - i’m such the opposite. fall&winter are my absolute favorite seasons of the year. I get so much dopamine as the summer ends, and often find myself irritable in august because I want it to be over already so we can get to October :) lol Happy Birthday Janelle!!
SAME! Summer gets me all depressed, it’s to hot for me to actually go outside so .. I’m still stuck inside , I hate 90° heat touching my skin! I sweat so much and feel smelly and gross .. fall is absolutely amazing !
And I guarantee you, that saying is absolutely so true-"The best part of having children is watching them grow up" "The saddest part of having kid's is watching them grow up". My beautiful, talented, and precious son is absolutely WONDERFUL, and I am so very very proud of the young man he's become. But what I wouldn't give to have him be a toddler again, even just for an hour ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏💐💐💐
Seeing Josh and Kendall talking about what theyre proud of in each other, themselves, and in general almost made me cry! I wish I knew THAT kind of love! ❤️ My birth and parenting journey has honestly been awful solely because of the 'other entity'. (*My sweet girl more than makes it all worth it though!) I wish i had half the partner Josh seems to be! What a keeper! Good job Kendall! ❤️
Kendall I thought it was just me struggling with throwing away their clothes as they grow 😢 I’m glad I’m not the only one. It’s so hard and I have gotten bashed for struggling with such things but it’s just such an emotional thing for me 😩
I love each new decade I enter. As I look back at the past decades I find joy in what I have accomplished and I look forward to what each new decade brings me.
Hello y'all, I'm 46. I don't feel old and it's amazing! Where does Time go so fast!!? It's hard to explain but the wisdom from all your experiences is very nice to have. I'm gonna grow old gracefully, every wrinkle, gray hair and scar I have I earned! So enjoy life, not everyone gets to grow old❤
Once my kids hit 2 it was like a switch was flipped. They started talking all the time! Those little voices are the best. We have 4, my first three are 20 months apart. Our 4th was a nice surprise 4 years later. My older 3 LOVE their baby brother. I have 2 girls and 2 boys. ❤ Good luck on your family journey!
We just came out of the toddler stage, and it was a crazy ride! If I’m being honest, it was harder than having a baby, but every experience is different. It’s so cool watching them go from babies to kids in just a couple of years. Every time they learn something new you’ll feel so much excitement and pride! You have a lot to look forward to.
the part where you're talking about being adults and getting your shit together hits me hard because i'm smoking at 10am on a random Thursday I took off lmao
Kendal! My daughter is turning 2 in September and I completely understand the pain of letting go of baby clothes. I have a little keepsake box of the clothes I just can not let go of. Eventually I will turn them into a quilt for her to take away when she’s grown up. It’s ok to hold on to those memories ❤️
I am 63, and I'm so happy at this age. You just don't worry about things like you used to. And you just SAY what is on your Mind, it's absolutely freeing! I can say any damn thing I want. LOL I just say the truth instead of holding it in, and I do it with a smile. I like growing old.
Both my kids had birthdays on the 3rd and 6th and when you said the quote about the best and worst part of having a kid is watching them grow up I teared up a bit. My oldest is 11 and I’m 31 I feel like she has made me grow up and she is a sassy beautiful girl 🥹🥲
Not me crying when you & josh were talking about parenthood. You guys make me hopeful that I will get my rainbow baby soon. Lost my second pregnancy far along this February and I hope I get my baby soon too. ❤
I rarelyyyyy comment but the back and forth about eating every part of the plant is KILLING ME OMG 😂 No, you cannot eat *every part* of *every plant*, but the plants you can eat, you can eat every part. Like Karelly said, the roots, the fruit, the stems, etc. It won’t kill you. Dog shit probably will though 🫤😂 Times like that I wish yall could hear US 🤭
My kids LOVE our version of girl dinner which we call “platter plates” they go through the fridge and pick all sorts of things and really get a good variety.
I'm 35 and love every year more as I age. I feel like I've grown so much as a person and every year has brought with it life improvements. Looking forward to more years and aging to come.
Hi Ladies! Y'all are the best! My favorite time of parenting is birth-2. We have 9 kids (from 16yr-30yr now because I'm old at 52😂.) I like to call that the honeymoon phase of parenting. Next comes tantrums and opinions. Then parents are dumb because teacher knows everything. Then it's fun again until the terrible teens start. Hormones make it like the terrible 2s all over again with louder voices and bigger bodies. It's really a balance between "I'm big now and can do it myself" and "mommy/daddy do." They fight for independence "me do" but are a bit scared and want you right there but not in their way. Love hearing you guys being real and laughing together, and enjoy the balance between the sesh and the true crime. Keep up the great work ❤
3:07 I don’t know if this applies to babies/toddlers, but one sleep cycle is 90 minutes (or an hour and a half) so you can plan to wake up at the end of that cycle and feel more rested/awake. I’ve been doing it ever since I learned about it and I personally think it works. I’m not a parent so I don’t know if it would work with Holly but I thought I’d share!
I live in Sweden, and we have this tradition called "Lucia train", based upon the legend of saint Lucia. The train is being led by a girl wearing a crown with candles on it, and after her comes the "maids" wearing leaf crowns or silver glitter in their hair, and the "star boys" wearing what looks like a dunce hat with stars on it. Dunce hat is actually a thing here too, called "dumstrut", and some guys complain they need to wear a dunce hat for Lucia every December.
Y’all literally inspired me to ask my fiancé what he’s most proud of as a parent, he told me he’s proud of his patience and knowing he’s not like his father. He teared up and said, “thanks for that’s because I feel like I don’t do enough and I see that I’m doing my best.” So thank you guys for that. It was a beautiful moment we both needed.
We’re all trying to do better and live a better life. It’s good to see our wins❤❤❤

You guys were all really gaslighting Kendall with that Kingdom Animalia question without even knowing it! Kendall picked the right one!
I could listen to Kendall talk about Holly allllll day ❤
It’s truly a privilege to grow older that not everybody gets. My cousin just passed away a couple weeks ago at age 21. I’m 31. He was such a bright person and I was so excited to see what the future held for him and suddenly he was gone in an instant.
With each year you are still here, remember that it’s a blessing. ❤
JOSH! It was awesome seeing him randomly today lol You should def have the guys on again soon!
Kendall got it right!! plants have cell walls, animals have cell membranes and so kingdom animalia wouldn't technically have cell walls...
Just got home from the gym this'll be great to watch & relax with
The Amazon River is the largest river by volume but the Nile River is definitely the longest. I’m sure thats what Janelle thought the question was asking lol
Came here for this. They taught us distinctly that Nile is longest, Amazon is widest
It’s terrific two’s, not terrible, enjoy the heck out of her ❤️
Yes it is terrific twos! But then it’s terrible threes and f*n terrible fours 🤣
@@ouzi88184 is my favorite age
What about the middle of an artichoke? Or Rose stems or something or just straight up poisonous plants? I agree the question was very weird
Yelling at the video “ANIMALS DONT HAVE CELL WALLS! NO CELL WALLS!” 😂😂😂
I was looking for this comment!!
nothing like working and listening to the best podcast in the background
(And for Holly to look up to as well)
Kendall , you’ve been radiating so much lately. Motherhood suits you very well. It’s obvious. May God continúe to bless you guys!❤
y’all always manage to put a smile on my face despite the shit day i’m having ❤
Karelly "this mugshot kinda slays" LMAOO
Super stoned and eating a quesadilla 👍🏻 good timing
I love being older! I feel more comfortable in who i am with all the years of life I've had and learning myself and I'm excited for more of it! I'll be 34 in November. I'm also so thankful for life and how long I've had. I have lost many friends who never made it to 30 heck even 20. Growing older is a blessing.❤
Love the energy of this podcast so so positive and just happy so happy to watch!
Omg when Janelle sang the build-a-bear happy birthday song it brought back so many memories 😭🥹
I told my mom what girl dinner was and she goes “ummm we invented girl dinner?!” My dad works out of town so during the week we would never truly cook we would just do a bunch of random things 😂😂
I love watching The Sesh each week because it feels like I’m getting a weekly dose of hanging out with my friends. 💞
Same! I like summer for about 2 weeks and then I’m miserable and I just want it to be autumn forever! 😅
And I guarantee you, that saying is absolutely so true-"The best part of having children is watching them grow up"
"The saddest part of having kid's is watching them grow up".
My birth and parenting journey has honestly been awful solely because of the 'other entity'. (*My sweet girl more than makes it all worth it though!) I wish i had half the partner Josh seems to be! What a keeper! Good job Kendall! ❤️
This is such a fun podcast ❤️
The plant convo brought back flashbacks of debates in my logistics class 😂😂
Happy bday Holly and happy 1 year and 9 months of parenthood Kendall and Josh!!!🎉🎉🎉what a blessing ❤
Omg! I died when Josh came in Love having him join! Because I watch all your other shows too. Cross overs are the best!
The way Janelle instantly said Kendall was gonna pay for it was so funny. And the way Charlie was not having it 😂
I’m literally listening to this as I’m cleaning our Airbnb we run 😂 I was wonder how we still have people booking with these crazy stories!
Kendall I thought it was just me struggling with throwing away their clothes as they grow 😢
I’m glad I’m not the only one. It’s so hard and I have gotten bashed for struggling with such things but it’s just such an emotional thing for me 😩
I love each new decade I enter. As I look back at the past decades I find joy in what I have accomplished and I look forward to what each new decade brings me.
I had always loved the toddler phase. They say the cutest things and you get to see their personality blossom in real time.
Listening to you describe Holly’s personality is so sweet. I’m also an Aug 2 bday and she is spot on a Leo.
Hello y'all, I'm 46. I don't feel old and it's amazing! Where does Time go so fast!!? It's hard to explain but the wisdom from all your experiences is very nice to have. I'm gonna grow old gracefully, every wrinkle, gray hair and scar I have I earned! So enjoy life, not everyone gets to grow old❤
I would watch this all day!
Janelle technically got two answers wrong so she probably didn’t even win. Kendall wins in my eyes
Watching Kendall get heated with the hat on is killing me😂🤣🤣
the part where you're talking about being adults and getting your shit together hits me hard because i'm smoking at 10am on a random Thursday I took off lmao
I wish this was me today I’m struggling getting through the work day. Embrace your day off and relax! Love days like that ❤ life is hard.
“I had a dream she came back” Jenelle is a prophet
Been watching Kendall forever for true crime but I loveeeeee y’all together ❤🥺🥰
Kendall, you should have your daughters clothes made into a quilt! I make them and it’s the best!
I have such a routine with the sesh now, Friday morning walk to drop my boy off at nursery so saving it till then ❤️ can't wait xx
yay!! i’m always so happy that y’all post on my off day😍
Sydney trying to say "Durham" was hilarious lol. That's where I'm from. 💙
Kendal! My daughter is turning 2 in September and I completely understand the pain of letting go of baby clothes. I have a little keepsake box of the clothes I just can not let go of. Eventually I will turn them into a quilt for her to take away when she’s grown up. It’s ok to hold on to those memories ❤️
so "Girl Dinner" is basically a quasi charcuterie board 😋 gimme all that and the tapas and pakoras!
Kids went back to school today, and my favorite podcast will be playing. Simply fabulous 🎉 It's the little things in life ❤❤
I used to cry whenever school was starting. I never wanted my girl to back to school
THAT IS THE CUTEST THUMBNAIL EVER OMG💕😂
Janelle’s Stanley with a mini Stanley on the straw is so cute x
Kendall and Josh are such couple goals 😭💕
The audio was off, not synchronized. But I absolutely love The Sesh!
Why is no one talking about Janelle’s amazing preposition performance 🤩🤩🤩
I was so impressed! I need to look that up
Janelle, I need to bring you to my writing classes when looking at prepositions!
I am 63, and I'm so happy at this age. You just don't worry about things like you used to. And you just SAY what is on your Mind, it's absolutely freeing! I can say any damn thing I want. LOL I just say the truth instead of holding it in, and I do it with a smile. I like growing old.
Please do a csi of three criminals robbing a dispensary in south Beloit Illinois. They drove their truck through the glass walls. I love you guys!
What, I used to live in south Beloit! 😯 almost forgot that place existed lol. I’ll have to try to find articles about this. 🧐
Janelle needs her own podcast.
Agree!!
Kendall if you find yourself having a hard time trying to part with some of Holly's clothes (a lot of us can relate), get them turned into a blanket!
Big Brother is the greatest thing to happen to me too Janelle! I count down the days every single year lol
Ophthalmology girly here. Loved the lasik moment 🤣🫶🏼🤍
So excited for this!! - Also! Hopefully you guys can cover the Lizzo scandal going on right now!! Much love to you ❤️
Both my kids had birthdays on the 3rd and 6th and when you said the quote about the best and worst part of having a kid is watching them grow up I teared up a bit.
The after party is really good!
Living in Michigan hearing janelle say the Michigan commercial made me SO happy wtf
Kendall’s hair looks amazing btw 😍
I kept all of my daughter's school shirts. I cut them into squares and turned it into a pretty awesome quilt. I gave it to her on her 18th birthday
