Correction : Emulating Games is legal as long as you own the games legitimately and use them for your personal purposes, pirating the games is the illegal part
I check that all the time to make sure the game in my PS2 work and it is the right game and make sure that it is not modded either. Cause, I don't want this screen to pop up when I am going to use the Emulator.
This didnt fool me at all without looking at the desc since it says “very odd”, im pretty sure itd say unknown, plus the texts font isnt in place with the ps2.
I have to appreciate that this feels genuine and doesn’t do the entire “ you pirated the game so here’s some disturbing sound/images “ aids to the idea of this being real.
@@DaNoob2789 Yeah I love it. I really loved the Dolphin and PCSX2 emulators the most, and I've been playing them for years now. There should have been a mod chip option in the Hardware Checker menu, because you can’t run home brew on a stock PS2. You need a mod chip, and I do own a fat PS2 with a Matrix mod chip in it.
Hey, I saw your comment in my notifications, but it seems it didn't appear in the comments section for some reason. But holy crap, even PCSX2 isn't safe from the Antipiracy measures! This video is pretty good, but there are some things that could be improved upon. Maybe use different PS2 BIOS sounds and maybe use images of the X and Triangle buttons by using a screenshot of the main menu. Overall, it's a pretty good video.
Really interesting how a version of the bios with a 2000 copyright would recognize an emulator that wouldn't be released for another 2 years. But it probably helps my PS2 is modded via FreeMcBoot on a memory card so I have experience with mods and ps2 emulation
At the beginning I dislike how the warning is worded, perhaps you couldve said "An irregularity has been detected in system settings. Is this Playstation 2 modified?" But its pretty good none the less
I've heard reports that the BBN memory card update was known to cause false positives. (As a preemptive strike against anyone who "hates to be that guy", I am just playing along.)
PS2: 2:35 screen appears Brazilian of all ages: nooooo, my childhood 😭😭 Yeah, here is quite rare to find some original/region-locked PS2. It was the easy way of piracying and modding its games a big reason why this console is so popular until nowadays.
Who presses triangle on one of these screens, they should just check the console forcefully and if something is wrong it turns off until service helps.
I'd like to state that it isn't exactly illegal to emulate hardware or software. It's the means of getting that hardware and software that can be illegal.
This is good, but not great. For one reason, the BIOS sound effects (Like scrolling through things and selecting things from a menu) have clear static, and can be distracting. Second of all, the serial key picture (used as an example right before entering the serial key) looks extremely amateur-ish. It looks like it was taken in 2 seconds to meet a 5 Minute Deadline. Third, PCSX2, the emulator used as an example of Software Piracy, Did not release while the PS2 was in development. That would be impossible. And while I may be wrong on this point, The Copyright date for the hardware checker shown in the video is incorrect. The PlayStation 2 was (Allegedly) Released in 2001, the same year as the GameCube. Fourth, the fonts used for the whole video are extremely generic. I'm not looking for a high class font or something to impress someone, it would be better if it replicated the text used throughout the actual PS2 BIOS. And another thing, the text at the beginning (There is some odd data in the PS2) has no Outline. This can make it hard to read, considering the VHS filter used here makes a lot of things here brighter. Also, the text is not blue. There are a lot of strings in the PS2 menu that are blue, such as when the system is turned on. (Browser, Settings and all that) I can tell you worked very hard in this, and I commend you for that. But next time, it would be cool if videos like these put a lot more attention to the fine details.
