Besides some very obvious bands, like Venom, etc., I've never been a big black metal fan. A big part of it is because bands either seemed to try to copy Venom - or - they just sucked and there was just way to much of it. But, BUT! I know your blood is traditional and so I'm going to keep watching these and try to get inspired to check out some really good releases I've missed! BioCYTE1 Yes, you had some bad copies but also a lot of bands like DARKTHRONE, BEHERIT, BURZUM etc...doing some creative stuff during the early 90s. Check out some of the stuff i show Lj, maybe you like some of them. Thanks for your comment.
Great video, do you know any old Czech BM bands (Crux, Root, Master's Hammer, Entrails…)? Old Greek BM is really different form anything else also because of the goth influence, I have Nightfall, The Elisian Fields, I'd like to hear more...
Martin Knap Yeahh, i have bands from CZECH. Have ROOT, MASTER´S HAMMER, TORR (they were more thrash but still great) and CRUX but they were more thrash too, i have a re-release by them on cd. About NIGHTFALL, i own their debut album on vinyl. All great stuff. I will show some of this records in my next black metal videos for shore. Thanks for watching.
holspa metal Early Root is also kind of black/thrash, but I like the different sounds that bands from various places had at the time. Crux was kind of a predecessor of Root, it was Peter "Blackie" Hošek's first band, when he left Root he started his own band Cales (interesting, but very mellow music), now he's got back to black metal under the name Blackosh, he released a split with Master's Hammer and will release a full album this summer (you can check out his website for details about his releases www.blackosh.com/ )
holspa metal As to Nightfall: I have Athenian Echoes (1995) and it's a very interesting record, almost experimental. I love Their new sound from Lyssa on, Astron Black is a marvelous album; but it's not what people usually call black metal.
