Secluded affordable old town in the mountains, quiet night life, indigenous culture, organic market, creative and kind people - I think I might have found the place! Thank you, Mariana.
I'm watching this from Ohio (USA). Your presentations are excellent, Mariana. I've already experienced the kindness and friendliness of the Mexican people. I think I could live anywhere in this beautiful and welcoming nation.
I spent several months in Pátzcuaro about 10 years ago. It really is a wonderful place. There are also many historic sites in the villages around the lake including indigenous as well as colonial period structures and museums.
Hi Im watching from South Africa. We are starting our slow travel around the world next year we’ll definitely visit this town. Thanks Mariana your videos are always full of info.
Hola Mariana, thank you so much for your wonderfully done video, you have cover many of my questions. I am in theSeattle area. My wife and I are moving to Patzcuaro by the end of July 2024. Thank you again!!
My parents and I always make a trip to Patzcuaro as we are from one of the pueblos surrounding the lake. I think your video is very well put together and sold the town beautifully. One suggestion, DO NOT go to the Hospital General de Patzcuaro. There a private DR next door called DR DINO and he is recommended as he saved my grandfather's life.
I love your beautifully shot and detailed videos. I’m patiently waiting for a video on Oaxaca City😌. I fell in love with the city sight unseen and will be visiting next year 😊
thanks!!! I passed thru, spent the night, in Patzcauro 30 years ago, heading to Uruapan, graduate school -1 month, living w families. It left fond memories, despite brief visit. I'd like to go back, and I thin k of living somewhere in Michoacan. questions: are there lots of street dogs? How noisy was city, car alarms, house alarms (power failures, go off? Crime,,,,,safety :single female. is the lake real polluted? Wonderful video.
Watching from South Carolina, USA. What is the latest on the water levels and pollution of the lake? There are several news reports about the lake drying up and pollution to the point where you can’t even swim in the lake.
Hello Marianna Being a lakeside town at altitude I cant help wonder how this town seems to resemble Ajijic or Chapala and might be a good alternative. Clearly the size of the expat community is one large difference but that aside from that are there any other key differences? Thank you, J
This is a great video. I'd be interested in making an exploratory visit and making contact with fellow expats for a "boots on the ground" perspective. Any ideas on how to connect with expats would be most welcome. Gracias!
Watching for the second or third time 🤔(I lost count 🤣) from Southern California :) Have seen many of your videos, Mariana, all great sources of insight into the various localities around Mexico. Compared to Lake Chapala this town looks better for my taste mostly because it seems to have a cooler climate. What strikes me the most attractive about PATZ is the meaning of it's name and the abundance of water. Oh! and it's walkable. I wonder how are the rental prices closer to the lake shore? Thank you Mariana! Can do you a live interview with a local please?
Hi Allen! Thanks for supporting the channel. Yeap- I'm always looking for more locals who want to do interviews with me. It's harder than you think to get people who want to be on camera. But I will keep trying to find others :)
@@MexicoRelocationGuide really, I had no idea 😲 Ok, that's it, "I'm moving to Patzcuaro and then other places" and I'll be willing to get on camera and talk about these many beautiful places 😁 so you don't have to work so hard trying to find willing interviewees 🤓 and other people like me who want to know more things get the info they are looking for from a local. (wow I said it, may the Universe and stars align for my Mexican Dream to come true).
Your video was nicely done. But I have lived in Patzcuaro for 5 years. I found that your monetary estimations for average rent and utilities were greatly inflated. I’m sure there are many homes that are elaborate and may reach your estimated rent but myself as well as all my expat friends pay far less. And utilities such as electricity and internet are also far less then you said. For instance, my electricity averages about $20 USD for 2 months and internet is $47 USD a month. Maybe I live in a bubble😏
@@MexicoRelocationGuide I posted a comment, but apparently RUclips deleted it. About using Booking app to find the best houses or hotels in Patzcuaro or Janitzio.
The video is correct, the term "chichimecas" doesn't refer to a particular tribe or people. "Chichimecas" can refer to a wide variety of nomads from diferent cultures. Before the P'hurepechas, there were chichimecas coming from the Bajio who stablished around Patzcuaro's lake, and then became P'hurepechas. You can see the immigration process depicted in "El lienzo de Jucutacato", there's a copy of it at Casa de la Cultura in Uruapan.
@@MexicoRelocationGuide Tampoco estigmatices Uruapan. He visto tus videos y claramente no conoces bien el estado.
The cartel are indeed in some places, but if you are not into drugs or any criminal activities they won't bother you, get that straight if you are not into drugs cartel will leave you alone

Is there a lot of parks nearby to go hiking?. Is there gyms for weightlifting in PATZ?. I like the low cost of rent!. 😁👍🏻

That is awesome @sebastianlujan8872 I'm considering moving there as it looks a lot more refreshing with the lake nearby. How is the internet?
