Love the haul. Great stuff! I have to some day go to Palmer. Im looking for the perfect Tolumnia to place on the mount you made for me. I’m on the hunt now for one. Hopefully I’ll pick one up at the Fairchild Gardens Orchid show.
Thank you, Nelson! Yes you definitely need to make a trip to Palmers and Plantio sometime. I am glad you love the mount and are looking for the perfect thing. You will know when you see it. That Fairchild show always looks so amazing 😍.
Hello! A new subscriber here!A great haul you have there! Been wanting a #707 tolumnia as well, but the only tolumnia availble in the Philippines close to that is lady in red. They're practically almost the same, only that the Tolumnia Lady in Red has a yellow edge on the skirt/lip and the #707 is a solid red skirt/lip! ❤ Lookinh forward for the tolumnia updates! I hope you can make a tolumni care video soon as well! I'm getting into them recently hehe.
i could not grow tolumnia's mounted. If you think about it theoretically a neofinetia falcata is more suited to being mounted than a tolumnia being reclassified as a vanda now too. I'm sure people mount vanda falcata's but generally the advice is to pot it up in a moss mound. So if nobody even mounts vanda falcata's I don't think it's that suitable for tolumnia's. Anyway I just bought a lady in red this month too and it's roughly the same size as yours so this is ideal for me to compare how your mounted one does vs my potted one. Hoping to see when yours ends up flowering.
Yes I see what you are saying I think it depends on environment and type of care that dictates what is the best way to grow for the individual. I agree Will be interesting to see. And as far as Neo Falcata it just depends if you want to grow them how they are traditionally grown or like a vanda.
@@BlueJays_Orchids Having debunked more myths about ochids than Missorchidgirl I have just concluded that orchid grower like to believe in what others tell them and I have concluded that orchid growers like to lie more than anyone else. It's not your environment that dictated the best way to grow them. It's what you have been told by other growers that dictates how you will grow them - correctly or not. There are people that will justify growing them badly. If the orchid ends up dying and I have concluded most people do not end up successful growers then you cannot justify that there are lots of different ways to do it. Of course there are but not all will work even if you have been guaranteed they will. I can guanranteee you have been told how to grow them badly. IT would be like telling a blind footballer where the ball is just the ball is somewhere else. He could be the best footballer in the world, he would still miss the ball every time because he was given information that would make him more likely to fail. Anyway it's all up to you, and I will be following the progress. I do want you to succeeed after all. But the lies orchid growers spread to make others fail.. I bet you will be tempted to let this one dry out between watering.. They do not like that if you ask me... But I am a newbie in many regards like all the other growers telling you how its done. Remember it is easy to debunk any orchid myth, the longest it takes is one year, or one season to debunk or prove it right. Hardly any grower does. Only the ones that do end up becoming good at it.
Such a great haul!!! They really do have amazing beauties. Great mounts too!
Thank you yes it was hard to only leave with just these ones. I want so many more lol 😂
Love your tolumnias and your beautiful mounts.
