I'm staring at a pear on my counter. A tiny ding in it's surface reveals a much darker "pit" which has an upper edge darker than the pit, which is the interior upper shadow inside this tiny crater. The lower right hand edge is lighter, where the pit rises back up to the edge. This lightening is reflected and diffused light hitting that angle that's bouncing the light back to my eye. So, I think a chip should have all these ingredients. You may think you don't need the darker part on a flat top surface, but only on the sides. I'd try a more subdued version. But it's time chipping went to another level. Otherwise, literally chip into a layer of paint and drop a dark rust into it. The broken paint will supply the lighter lowetr highlight and the upper shadow.
Excellcent!!! Thansk for your teaching! My Master! Could you show us: 1) how to paint & weather tools on scale model tanks & armor? 2) how to paint a "Gray" german model tank? 3) how to paint model soldiers?
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost my account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Devon Arthur thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

These videos are always amazing and I learn a ton! BUT......Where do you get the small square panels for practice?
im confused because with model airplane vids they say to spray a gloss coat of varnish before any weathering
