Really? Where can you guys point to with timestamps for where it is different in the revised version, compared to the original version? I have only just listened to the concerto for the first time on the version by Gil Shaham (I suppose that is the revised version?), so I don't have an idea of the differences between this original version and the revised edition.
@@Checkmate1138 Listen to 1'04-1'54 in this version, then notice in the Shaham recording how that entire section was cut. Also, compare 3'11 in this version to 2'06 in the Shaham one - Williams greatly revised the orchestration in the latter. Those are two big divergences I hear (among others)

I like this original version better than the revised one. Particularly, I feel it gives the opening exposition the time it needs to breathe.
You are right. The original version is more subtle, broader in the opening yet the development is tighter.

Well, I do not have this concerto, sorry. The only recording I know is on RUclips, a poor live recording of the first performance.
