Yes!
If I was to buy a Simon shirt, it would be this one :)
If someone had told me that I would so thoroughly enjoy watching someone play an RPG solo, I would have laughed. I have a few dozen shows in my queues on Netflix and Amazon, and yet I'm here watching this.
Yup!
me too brother. I have SO MUCH in my queues!.. And yet, I'm here..
I like that when we play RPG's we have REALLY good days, and there are some plays that are just: "Really?? I have 75% of chance to make it right and I miss 4 times in a row?"
It's a Christmas miracle!! "Simon sucks......until the dice explode!"
It was a great episode, not only because "The Allies" finally had some things go right, and not only because Simon finally found his father (sort of), but because it was so much fun watching YOU get excited for YOUR characters. It was clear that you were having a blast, and that was great to see and to feel that energy come across to your viewers. Keep up the great work ( or is it play).
So much to love about this episode. The “dark Druid” concept, Simon’s three-shot show, and of course, his father’s phasing in and out of existence. Wow.
This is better than critical role. No script everything random created on the fly, more active, more imagination.
Btw where do you find your music? I'd like to use in my own campaign.
That's one helluva compliment, Vincent, thank you (and for the record, I love those Critical Role folks! I work with them in animation all the time!). As for the music, I have a license with Digital Juice through my co-producer (the credits are shown at the very end of the videos).
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG no problem. I've watched critical role, yes great thing for dnd but after watching how they play it felt more predetermined in play, unlike how you do it which I believe is more genuine to how someone would actually play an rpg. There's a Facebook solo group for dnd, and you have inspired others on their too. This show has a lot of potential, and you've put a lot of energy into making it enjoyable. Can't wait to see further adventures for simon and friends🤙
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG I love MM but CR has never made me cry. 36:35 #Imnotcryingyou'recrying
Absolutely! This is the best darn thing on RUclips 👻
Just want to say that I also think these videos are absolutely awesome. Gotta love the roleplay of the characters and the production value of the show is just top notch. Been thoroughly enjoying all the episodes and am always excited to watch the next one. Keep up the good work. :-)
I loved it when Simon finally got to his old village. The mood of the narration and choice of music went so well together, it was better than a scene from a really good film - and there's a shortage of really good films.
my dad bought the mythic gm emulator book for me for christmas because i tried to explain it to him some weeks ago. im psyched as hell to try to get into it. god jul and a happy new year to all of you
@Jonatan Lindqvist, I hope that you have fun trying it out. Please let us know how it goes.
there are many others good solo engines but I usually suggest to start with Mythic GME because it teaches a lot about this type of games
Heyyy, how did it go? It has been over a year so you should have had ample time to try it out. I used mine a couple of times. Good so far! Just trying to get used to it hehe.
@@wowdevon1893 it was a lot to get used to in the begining and my first game went from a sci-fi spycraft game to feudal slice of life in just a few sessons. it's very fun like that. i take it out once in a while when i think of a story i want to try.
"His is shaken. but not stirred.... "
Who needs Netflix, this is better :D
The improv work, character/narrative development, voice acting and energy is top notch! Awesome job! 👍😊
The idea of a mercenary kill team is always cool.
Brilliant as always! Love it. You inspired me and my friends to start a new journey to the unknown.....with no GM choosing our fate. Everything is possible now my friend. Keep up with your brilliant show.
Wooow, you never fail to amaze us with your ideas during the game!
Wow! Those dice were crazy! And I loved the plot twist with Simon's father at the end. I didn't see it coming at all. It's amazing what things Mythic can throw at you!
Clearly that temple quest was a master class in combat for Simon.
It’s crazy this only had around 1k at the time!! This has been better then 90% of TV
30:13 I love how glasses spawn on your face and gets immediately removed again.
How about “Simon Succeeds ... Sometimes.” or “Simon succeeds?”
This was an excellent episode as always.
"Simon Sucks-eeds!"
Those 'cold openings' are great. It's like "What the heck has Simon gotten himself into this time? I mean, it is Simon so we know it's probably something very bad, and death is imminent" Love it 😂
I like simplicity, how about “Simon Sucks?”
I love what you do here, great energy, and loving the scatter you made.
I really dig this series. It' such a nice change of pace from other group RPG shows, and it has this wild energy that carries it through each scene and setpiece.
What an exciting fight!!!! Team Simon Doesn't Suck prevails!!!!!!!!!!!!
Arne has to write a 1000 times: "I must not fire into melée". Also #YsabelsucksbutFaneblows. Another cracking episode, Trevor.
Simon couldn't shoot fish in a barrel without Stonebolt #StoneBoatRocks
Great episode! The father reveal at the end was such a good twist.
Tears in my damn eyes for the reunion
I imagine the face that Isabel made when the caster cast the baclash🤣
Such a change of pace from the last 15! Another great episode! I think we should wait another to change until we see if his luck holds out before changing his catchphrase.
I know I’m late to the game-don’t know if your still reading the comments to your old videos, but absolutely love this series! It’s my new favorite thing! I’ve been binging for the last few days and can’t get enough! Keep it up
What a rollercoaster, this show! Much more entertaining than Mercer. I started clapping when all those 6's hit the table.
The weave = Backlash
Love the minis and terrain. Great episode!
Wow, fantastic episode...I am so excited to see what happens next!
I stop watching TV at night before go to sleep. I just turn on this amazing channel and watch until I sleep. Amazing! I hope season 2 starts fast :)
I swear that was one of Gru's minions casting that spell
Oh! That twist at the end was fantastic! Well done!
There is an Arcane Background Edge in Weird Wars II that pertains to individuals being haunted. Also, there is both necromancy and ritual casting in the Horror Companion setting book for Savage Worlds. The book is a great resource.
Unbelievable twist! These scenes have been wild, nothing less than amazing!
I know it's probably tiring to edit, but watching you go through combat gets me hyped! Thanks for introducing me to Savage Worlds too! Looking forward to next season!!
Very fun episode.
Nice, was waiting for the notification that this weeks episode was up!
What an incredible episode. So many great ideas and what an amazing twist! This is by far the best “live” play out there.
Really enjoyed the episode!! Great energy coming from you Trevor. Maybe this was the episode of ‘Simon Luck(s)’
nice cliffhanger
Thank you for the work you’re doing here. It’s an inspiration to get my own solo RPG running.
I need a Fane shirt. His time was brief, but oh so bright lol.
I’m so shocked at how much I love the way you do this, the characters are so well done and you keep every part of it exciting
Great ending! 👍🏻🍸
This is a fantastic channel! I have been binge watching since I found it yesterday. The ending of this episode gave me chills and gooseflesh! Keep up all the fantastic work Mr. Devall!!!
TWIST!! Amazing!!!
The new T-shirt should say "I do not in fact, suck"
It's all coming together holy crap
It keeps getting better and better! This is the most engaging play I have ever seen!
Dead-eye Simon!
What a great episode!!!
THIS WAS A GREAT EPISODE! Please keep 'em coming.
AAAAARRRHHH!!!! This is awesome!
Newcomer here.
And I must say this must be the worst ambush I have ever heard of!
But I'm so happy to have heard of it XD XD XD
Best episode yet!
I don't know how you do it but this just keeps getting better and better! I can't believe that Simon is a god of markmanship now, haha! Happy holidays, Trevor!
Awesome game! Simon is absolutely killing it (literally!) for a change!
This episode is amazing!
What a heck of an episode! After such a long run of difficulty, it's great to see Simon & Co get some real success-not just against the mercenaries, but in finally finding Simon's father! And that twist at the end... oh boy, this is getting epic!
You've probably already heard this, but have you thought about trying the Game Master's Apprentice deck? It's another Mythic-like solo aid, but it's a deck of cards instead of a chart with dice. Since you already use poker cards for initiative, it might be a fun addition to your arsenal. Each card has a ton of great prompts (I particularly like the sensory prompts). Personally I like it better than Mythic, but it would work great as a companion for it as well.
Anyway, eager to keep up my marathon! I'll be caught up before long, haha.
Hi Trevor,
Really loving the show!! I've been following since episode one and it's been a great adventure. :)
I just noticed in the battle you forgot to add in The Drop bonuses for the two ranged attackers in the merc group.
4:14 - The ranged attackers had The Drop (+4 to hit and damage)
5:31 - The archer had +4 for The Drop, but you only counted it as 1 (Rolled 2 - 1 = 1) and missed the +4
6:41 - the spellcaster should have also got +4 but you didn't mention it
Sorry I know it's too late now, but could have turned the tide of battle.
Awesome episode as always and great surprise at the end. :)
Yup, mistakes sometimes happen when running a big battle by myself - and six cameras too! ;)
...and you're right about the archer, he should have got the +4, which would have scored a regular hit in that case. That might have altered the beginning a bit, *if* he had shaken Arne (or worse), but Fane's roll exploded to a 12 - and neither Arne nor Edbert came anywhere close enough to beat it (so a 16 with the +4 wouldn't have changed anything).
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG Hey no worries at all Trevor. Sorry, I can get a bit details-orientated so I pick out things like this.... hope it's not annoying. :)
I'm absolutely LOVING the series.... it's definitely my favourite roleplaying series on youTube. I normally do GMing for Savage Rifts so this series has inspired me in my games. I've bought Mythic GM Emulator and have been playing some solo games myself, as well as using the Mythic system to generate some encounters and side-missions for the game I run. It's been good fun!
Not sure if you've seen it but there's also the Adventure Crafter which also suits for solo roleplaying to generate more detailed encounters with some really interesting plots (kind of like Mythic Emulator but more detailed): www.drivethrurpg.com/product/261479/The-Adventure-Crafter
And Creature Crafter is good for interesting creatures to create: www.drivethrurpg.com/product/62850/The-Creature-Crafter
I've used both and they're quite good.
But keep the videos coming.... they're really great. :)
Yeah, I've got those too. Really good supplements! I wanted to keep things fairly simple for the show, though, and not use *too* many randomizers - as I've said, there's a lot to handle for one guy as it is. I'm glad you're liking it!
When I imagine Edbert, I see Bronn.
This is fantastic 😎
Great episode. I was amazed by Simon's prowess. How about #Simonsucks FTW, with strikethrough font on "sucks"? And I hope you have a cool Yule!
Awesome
love it!
Good Day to you,
I love your terrain pieces did you make them yourself? if so is it possible to maybe do a video on how you made them , for instance I am really interested in the Rocks and tree pieces what did you use for the base? thank you so much for making these videos.
Check out Black Magic Craft and the Terrain Tutor, both on RUclips.
Simon sucks, a little bit!
I absolutely love this, so good :)
Man what a great Show. I am years late to it but it is so good. And i just love how you come up with these interesting Twists just from rolling for 2 words....amazing.
My interpretation of the mercenary attack was just that these mercenaries are extraordinarily unlucky, not that Simon has improved.
Great episode like always!
Holy moly!
DAD'S A GHOST??????? I DID NOT SEE THIS COMING!!!! AND YOU ENDED IT ON THAT??? I AM SO GLAD THERE IS MORE NOW BECAUSE IF I'D HAD TO WAIT!!!!!! HOLY CRAP DUDE! That's a bloody plot twist!!!!!
I was as surprised as you :)
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG Doesn't that mean you have to ret-con the trail of blood droplets?
epic!
Another awesome session, every new chapter is simply amazing! I think we need "official" Simon & company minis, or at least character sheets with stats? Maybe??? :-)
I would *love* to have some miniature company sponsor the show. As for the official character sheets... I have plans for a few "companion videos" to help with that.
First let me just say, what an ending , just when I thought it couldn’t get better their it goes. Second, after watching that extraordinary fight play out I would love to see Simon and company to finally get some recognition for their deeds. I mean they bested what was said to be a bounty hunter of renowned skill, cleared out a temple for necromancy, Saved a what I assumed to be a “on the map” town (since it was booming) and then showed his mercy to said renowned bounty hunters, who I’m sure if they live to tell the tale would have to mention how Simon killed with such precision and could of took their life if he wanted to. I’m just saying he should have some stories about him floating about, even if they don’t mention him by name they should know of his actions at least.
Keep watching…. ;)
What a shot...actually Simon doesn't suck HAHAHA
Holy crap there's a lot of double sixes in this one. Gonna have to start calling him Simon the Sometimes Sucky Slayer or Something...
...yes, the 'Something' part is in the name.
New shirt should be #SimonReborn
You could say his father ghosted him.
*eyeroll* 🙄
He was tracking ghost blood?
I love a beefy villainess. Too bad the dice murdered her 🤣 I wish she'd done better at least for a couple rounds.
Simon says… I’m lucky
Well, I would chime in with my suggestion of a new slogan for Simon, but I doubt it would still be relevant 2 years and 5 months or so after this episode aired lol
I’m still here, so slogan away ;)
@@MeMyselfandDieRPG By the gods, after watching the entirety of this episode's combat encounter in which he utterly demolished the group of bounty hunters with ease, and considering that, by now, with the help of his companions he has saved a town from a tidal wave *and* destroyed an evil necromantic temple, I feel like the "simple is best" approach fits this man perfectly: #SimonSucksNoMore !
(Also, I'm sure I speak for all of us who arrived late to the party by saying that we really appreciate you interacting with your viewers even on your older videos, that's super cool!)
18:42 - so, Fain is shaken and cannot stir, is what I'm hearing... 😜
Awesome intro haha
Missed opportunity. Could have said, "I think in this case he is shaken, but not stirred"
#simoncharacterprogression
How does a ghost leave a wound trail behind?
It will be explained in the next episodes.
I'm the first to notice the Willow reference?
Happy coincidence, I suppose. Fane Rizzata = Fin Raziel
Sometimes, when you talk, you, speak, like Captain Kirk.
#SimonPOWPOWPOW
Few plot holes in the story, most noticeable ones are the time span between Simon’s parents capture and his fathers escape. Assuming that it’s been a few years, it mean his parents has to have been in the necromancers crypt as a captive. However it could have been for more than a couple of years cause it wouldn’t make sense unless the necromancer was experimenting on them and only managed to turn his mother while the father remained resilient until his eventual escape.
Still I wouldn’t put their capture for more than 3 years. So we can assuming that Simon is only 18-21, considering his last saw his parents as a boy. Another thing was the father escaping with the sword, if he was a captive for sometime, how did he manage to get his blade to escape?
As far as I remember Simon is 26 🎲
Can confirm, on episode 1 it was stablished that Simon is 26
"Sometimes Simon sucks less"
