HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses.

@necrotic666 What are you talking about? Sorry you don't like the game but I've played 25+ hours so far and have enjoyed every second. Fair enough if you don't like horde shooters, they aren't for everyone but this game has a really fun and compelling gameplay loop in my opinion and that sentiment just so happens to align with the vast majority of players and people in the comment section as you can see below. Sorry if that opinion makes you sick though... Wishing you a speedy recovery 🙏🏼
The shot of the napalm on the automatons, with it reflecting on the river and them walking out the fire shooting at you was so epic.

It feels much more intense than most first person shooters. The lighting, tracers, explosions, trees exploding, air strikes. Its amazing.
The music on this game is some of the most epic I’ve heard, one of my favorite games right now

This game isn’t without its issues but the attention to detail is astounding. You can tell the majority of the devs had a really great vision for this and executed beautifully.
the first Helldivers, from 2015, was playable on PS Vita.

honestly for the horde game that it is it looks amazing, compared to a first person linear story game, it still looks great. im impressed by this one, maybe it'll hold up longer

Helldivers 2 is honestly the best coop game I have played in a decade. I have played a dozen missions with friends and it's been a long time I haven't laugh that much playing video games.

People who actually saw a nuke reported it was brighter than the sun. If you hold your hands in front of your eyes you will see the shadow of your bones inside, that bright just from light.

Back in the day I was a huge fan of Lost Planet on PS2. I have searching for decades to find a game that gave me the feelings that Lost Planet gave me so long ago. Helldivers 2 is the only game to come so close to giving me that feeling back. 😢
I love how punchy the weapons sound, it’s very satisfying
this game feels like its from the future... everything works so well, the balance the visuals are just incredible. im hooked, hope they make much more content since it was such a success.
They've said there will be monthly content patches.
Also the return of an enemy faction from the first game is teased in game.
Honestly there is so much room on that map for at least 3 more enemy factions

Man, I got overconfident after some tough bug missions and tried a bot one, it was an experience. This game can really make things feel like a battlefield; and it can be awesome.
I really hope they work out the issues. It’s really fun, and that’s really rhetorical only reason I’ve put up with the crashing and connection issues.
Be careful as vs the bugs the cyborg faction is slower but way tankier with looks holding shields and even actual fucking tanks
Fun fact: The music is composed by Wilbert Roget II who worked on Destiny 2: Forsaken! Most notably the Vault encounter theme for the Last Wish Raid “Watchtower” 😍

the matchmaking It's working very well, I met several players who played to the best of their ability and it's been an incredible experience.

I was teamed up with my buds right, was about to throw the 120mm and got killed mid throw by an automaton. I was screaming my heart out for my buds to run and the insuing chaos was abosultley hilarious of the screams of terror and laughter of utter disbelief they survived

Watching the machine planets makes me want these guys to make a full on Terminator game so much. AND I've always wanted games to make you feel like a small part of a huge battle and this game just nails that so much. You still DO the things, but the scale of everything else going on and seeing all the other ships in orbit and such. Finally. So sick of just being the chosen one who has to do EVERYTHING.

This game is awesome and having a blast testing with different stratagems, quick tip: with the robots try and use smoke grenades/mortars, its breaks line of sight and stops them from spotting you for a few seconds. Great vid!❤

Easily the best money I've spent on a game since BG3. Takes me back to the days of Lost Planet 2 online sprinkled with a little Star Wars Battlefront (classic). Helldivers II is it's own game through and it owns this completely. Every time I hop on I am having such a blast with other players. The atmosphere, the gunplay and the total chaos of battle, not to mention the comedic undertones, are so well done. Every mission I have been on has been it's own adventure. Normally I'll be upset in games when I die but here it's almost satisfying because the game makes you feel like your sacrifice is counting towards something greater. Fighting the bugs, I was thrown by this large armored one and I hit this building. Getting up, I just managed to pull the slide on my gun when it rams me into and through the entire building, killing me. It was awesome.
