- Hi everyone this is a reupload from my old channel. In this video we change the Wish bone bushes on the MK5 Golf GTI.... then thing's don't go to plan!
Many thanks for the heads up and excellent demo as to how straightforward the job is - it was scary how that cheap casting fragmented under the pressure of a torque wrench - dread to think what would have happened if it shattered when driving "enthusiastically" ! As others have said, Lemforder are a high quality manufacturer - I had a pair of drive shafts for an old Mk2 Scirocco and they were very well made and a perfect replacement. Nice one fellah!
i was looking for a video because i need to change front and rear on my golf, and dam man this video is just what i was looking for, ill be on road side me and my laptop you will be with me brother...
my golf is also red, i think you also have like me halfords stand jack and socket set, thats the way man haha
i want be ordering off ebay now man thanks, that rear block thickness and rubber is crazy... cracking video
Haha no problem glad I could help!
Lool
You may not realise, but you've bought lemforder parts for your car. The rolls royce of car parts, engineered for quality and O.E.M for most brand new cars, how about an update to let us know how the new parts have affected the ride, better or worse ? There's an old, but very true saying......."buy cheap, buy twice". Its the same when buying tires, discs or pads,
Cheap tires "may" seem attractive, but they will be NOISIER, won't grip as well, will be worse all round, love the channel.
Very true. Mkv gti owner as well
I did change the bushings, but i didnt need to remove the wishbone. Just the three screws under, hammer it out, newmon and screw back.
For the same car? I have just finished watching his video and i am wondering if i can't take out the bushing without removing the wishbone?
@@gofaonetirelo1066 I have passat, but in this thing, they are the same

Oh and have a ramp or safe jackstands wherenyou can be under the car safely, or you will suffer
@@gofaonetirelo1066no need to remove the wishbone.
Use a small crowbar to wiggle the bushing of.
Lube the hole in the new bush with dw40 and it will go easy.
Lucky man that you didn't snap any of the 16mm bolts from the wishbone. They are prone to seizing and snapping
Happend to me
and to me ;(@@jahblitz9
The universal joint your using isn't designed for an impact driver.
Bought cheap ones and the hex part freely spins on the hex part of the control arm instead of the bushing itself twisting its prerry ridiculous.
obviously man it not gonna be easy and have all 3 same size
You have waist a lot of time, also now you need to do alignment.
The three bolts on the bushing was enough to take it of the wishbone. 😂
Just don't buy Volkswagens, Horrible cars to work on.
