  • THANK YOU, EVERYONE, FOR 5K SUBSCRIBERS!!! I hope you guys enjoy this special!---------
    Just because I do this doesn't mean you should, but I'm not saying you can't. Unless you know EXACTLY what you're doing, I don't encourage key usage. Many elevator enthusiasts frown on this, but that's because there's a line that people often cross when using keys. Know your limits. I don't want this video to cause trouble, but if it gets to that point, I'll just delete it.

    1:55 I've never seen that before. Independent service requiring a key, but inspection is a toggle switch. Usually it's the other way around and it should be as inspection service is strictly for technicians only.

    Congrats on 5000 subs, man! Today I've got to ride some classic 80's Atlases in perfect condition (even the bells work) and they are not going to be modernized soon!

    Are the door safties still in effect during independent service or do you have to release door closed if someone runs through the door (like a freight elevator)?

    • @dl-aufzugsvideos
      @dl-aufzugsvideos Год назад

      I don't know how it is in the U.S., but here in Switzerland, the door safeties are still intact during independent service. For example, if you trigger the light barrier in the door, the call is canceled to prevent you from locking yourself out of the elevator if it goes to a floor that is inaccessible to you.
      You also don't have to hold down the door close button, as it is disabled to prevent you from locking yourself out of the elevator.

    What is independent service?

    • @g-Elevators675

      Independent service is a special mode on elevators that disables calling of the elevator and makes it where you have to hold down either the door close button or the floor button to make the elevator move.

      Independent service Mode is a special mode on elevators where the elevator will run independently of other elevators in the bank, The doors of the independent service elevator stay open until you select your floor and hold the door close button, but on some elevators you have to hold the floor button for it to close.

    Is there a way to do independent service on compass elevators?

    • @TechNerdNolan
      @TechNerdNolan 4 года назад +1

      Joshua Bodenstein It’s the same as this. But you have to open the compartment where the buttons are

      @@TechNerdNolan I forgot which key it takes, I think BGM30

      It may also take CAT30 because it is the same key. I have a teacher who has that key.

    If you ever go onto an older elevator, can you demonstrate the inch up/down buttons?

    • @Jowevator3219

      atomicjellydragon there are barely any old elevators around here but if I do find some, sure. There’s videos of that already though

      Elevation Station Productions They are basically buttons to move the elevator car very slowly, about an inch if it doesn’t level properly. They are often seen on 1970’s and older traction elevators.
