The neck on this particular dragon is all newspaper covered with tape then paper mache. My dragon trophies is a paper mache shell that I fill with great stuff foam. Oh, there is coat hangar wire running down the middle of the neck also.
Aside from the awesome dragon, what I like about this video is that he created a big terrifying realistic fire breathing lizard while playing a background music that I would use to make a baby sleep. All in all, great video progress

I freakin' love this Dragon. I'll have to admit that doing scales not only it's pretty challenging but it takes FOREVER to make the scale patterns. When I first started sculpting my Dragon mask back since the December of last year I had no problem doing the head shape & all but the scales on that Dragon I did took me three freakin' months to do. It was worth it, molded it & cast it with latex, then did all the paint job looks exactly like a Dragon, Heck it even looks like one of those Traditional European Medieval Dragons. Other than that, the Dragon looks beautiful. Great job.
That was riveting! TY SO much for sharing this! Your style is very Dan Reederesque! :) What did you make the eyes out of or where did you buy them from? What did you use for the scales...were they papier mache or were they some sort of clay or both?? I luv the colors and the amazing amount of detail! Excellent job! I hope to see many more from you! You're truly an inspiration! :)
Thank you. I did buy Dan Reeder's book and learned most of this from him; he is awesome. I bought the eyes from Etsy from this guy: www.etsy.com/shop/artistJP?ref=notif_nfyfs&order=date_desc I bought a bunch of eyes from him. The scales are paper clay and the teeth are sculpey clay. I have videos on my channel on how they are made and other dragon videos on this channel. I do have more to come also. Thank you for watching.
The fingers are wire core covered with aluminum foil then tape then shop towels dipped in glue. The base and the joints of the wings are reinforced with paper clay for strength, The membrane is a cut up old bed sheet dipped in elmers glue.
The white paper? I assume you are referring to the material I used on the wings. That is not paper, it is a cut up old bed sheet dipped in elmers glue. Any other paper I use is news paper.
It is a wire armature covered with foil and tape. The covered with cloth mache and paper clay. The membrane is cloth dipped in glue then spread over the wing fingers.
When I make the tongue, I build it over a wire and leave a bit of wire hanging out the back of it. I glue this wire in the neck then glue the lower jaw onto the tongue and neck. I then use tape to hold the jaw in place. I then glue and tape the upper jaw to the neck. I glue and tape a small piece of wire to the neck and the upper jaw to help hold it on place (there is sometimes a gap between the neck and jaw. I also use a small wooden dowel to keep the mouth open; it is just propped in the mouth to hold it open while I tape and glue everything together. Last step is putting cloth mache on the neck to strengthen it.
Damn 50 hours for this work and I have already used like 3 months and got less than a month left for my art project. I really don't like my procrastination lmao
I just counted up all the hours I worked on it over the 2 months it took me to make it. It was not 50 continuous hours. Because I filmed the process it was easier to count up the hours it took. Keep at your project, you will get to the finish line.
@@RaysDragonLair You got great talent. I wish I could do something like that for my daughter. Previous music spoiled the experience. Now is perfect. I watched it again with great pleasure. Kind regards.
Your cat looks like a tweeker with the fast play setting, a very cute tweeker. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. Yeah the scales take forever, but they are worth it in the end. I would like to see your mask.

Отличная работа !!! Красиво !!!
Just amazing
Thank you
Very nice work!
That's awesome. I've been watching since you started. Each new video the projects get better and better. Please keep going!
Thank you for the support!
A truly stunning piece of work. How long did it take you to create it?
Thank you. This one took about 50 hours.
Oh I see in details that you used sculpey and paper clay. But if you used sculpey….how do you dry it?....just air dry?
That is awesome 👍
demasiado espectacular.....
That's great!! Have you considered sculpting with air dry bondo to be weatherproof and an outdoor ornament.
I may have to try that. Thank you.

Beautiful! Reminds me of another RUclipsr- GourmetPapierMache’s work.
Thank you. I learned how to make these dragons from Dan Reeder, the gourmet paper mache guy.
so cool...so many hours, i know.
Amazing! How long did the whole process take?
All together about 50 hours.
Great job!, I am interested to know how do you weather protected I will like to make one of myself 😊
I didnt weather protect it. It is an indoor dragon. I think you may be able to weather protect it if you use all weather glue for the mache.
Amazing and inspiring! I refuse to buy props for my dnd games so I’m going to attempt to miniaturize your techniques...wish me luck!🙏😆
Good luck. Let me know how it worked out.
Will do!
Wow
Espetacular, amei.

Pakai lem apa ya itu untuk celup kertasnya
Where do you get your eyes from they are stunning
I buy them from an artist through etsy.
Fantástico 😍
what company of beige masking tape do you use?
it is 3M tape
thank you!
When attaching the tail you used what type of clay ?
That is paper clay on the tail.
Do you have a link of where you got those teeth brother?
I sure do. Here you go: ruclips.net/video/RYeEruDazrg/видео.html
What is the name of the white paper you use?
The white paper? I assume you are referring to the material I used on the wings. That is not paper, it is a cut up old bed sheet dipped in elmers glue. Any other paper I use is news paper.
what type of fabric do you use?
It is an old bed sheet. The older the better. I go to good will or other second hand stores and buy sheets there. They are cheaper.
Ahh okay, tnks an congratulations, amazing you creations.
Gostaria de saber se é cola branca ou gesso isso q vc usa
Eu uso cola branca. Elmers glue all.
@@RaysDragonLair obrigado
Maravilhoso!
Can you name all your materials you use?
They are listed in the description.
How did you make the wings
It is a wire armature covered with foil and tape. The covered with cloth mache and paper clay. The membrane is cloth dipped in glue then spread over the wing fingers.
I’m up trying replicate it now . I have the book but when it comes to the mouth piece , I’m not quite sure ?
I am not sure what you mean? Attaching the jaws to the neck?
Yes attaching it is what I’m looking for .... sorry
