    That's crazy. His last position isn't just a check, it's obliterating her.
    Rxf7+, forcing Kg8, Rxc7 threatening Rxc8, pushing her bishop to the edge of the board, afterwhich he wins yet another pawn with Bxe6+. Then only a couple moves away from check mate using the 2 bishops, the knight, the queen, and can even bring the rook back in. Mind blowing position.

      There's no way to know for sure. Engines and databases have allowed for rapid advancement. For the top competitors in particular. With the same access there's not much reason to think the past elites wouldn't be comparable to today's.

    If you are one of the regular, everyday good chess player, Alexandra Botez can probably easily beat you. She is that good. Intimidating and confident in person.
    I saw her before she joined Stanford University, some ten years back.
    This is interesting to me as it shows how a great player, a world champion no less, plays against Alexandra Botez. The tables are turned!
    Also shows how good a 2850+ player can be if we are lucky to play him in person.

      nevertheless, noone has ever been as dominant as Fischer at his peak (with the exception of Morphy perhaps, but that predates chess as a professional discipline), even in the short run.
      the guy was rated 125 points higher than the world's #2.
      that's a bigger difference than between Carlsen and #32 right now.
      calling Fischer "overrated" is as ridiculous as comparing him to JFK (???).

    When i analyzee this game with Stockfish 16 lite (depth 20 moves), it failed to find 12, g4 in the first place. Only after i input g4 stockfish realized that it was the best move. Unbelievably amazing!

      10 seconds is a fair title. If the opponent takes 5 hours to make the first move against Carlsen , then they can claim it took Carlsen 5 hours or 5 hours 10 seconds to beat them.
