Sold my 78 a year ago And I miss it I’m starting a ground up restoration on a77 it’s amazing how much money and time you can put into a project but there’s nothing better than hearing it. Fire off the first time after you get done.🤘
@ update I split the cases and replace all the bearings was like pulling teeth to find a gasket set. I’m financially upside down in this deal, but I still love doing it. definitely never gonna sell it now. I get it why they get a lot of money for good trikes
I had 1979 ATC 110, it had that same light switch but I didn’t have to switch in on to start. High range was mostly unusable. Kept it in low range all the time. I had a blast on mine. I used to pull my friends on their sleds in the winter.
The ATC90 headlight switch had three positions as shown in the video. Ignition kill, ignition on, and on with lights. The Headlight socket had high and low wires (blue and white). But you couldn't select between high or low beams. One wire is connected to the switch and the other is just dangling in the headlight case. This can be verified in the wiring diagram. This was changed for the ATC110s and the three positions were lights off, Low beam, High beam. Both the blue and white wires are connected to the switch.
I am traveling all over picking up hondas. I play your videos before and after i get them in the car.Picking up a 78 90 very clean but the timing chain is loose.Partizilla for parts?.I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS YOU ARE FULL OF KNOWLEDGE AND PATIENCE 😅
Man, that really means a lot! Thank you for that! I have a couple other videos talking about where to find parts. Regarding the timing chain, I can't recall if that is still available through Honda or not. I have not bought through Partzilla though because I have found them to be more expensive than the other OEM parts sellers. I use Rocky Mountain ATV for my OEM parts. They have free shipping on orders over $75 too. With anything 90 related, it's also good to check out Mike Palmgren's website shop.vintagemotorsports.net/ I see he does have timing chains listed on there, but they may also be readily available from Honda too.
The 1975-1978 Atc90 & 1979 Atc110 are the same nobbie tire. 1980 Atc110 is a 1 year only nobbie, 2 ribs on the sidewall, but otherwise same as 75-79. Then in 1981 Honda changed the nobbie, they had plys woven into the tire for puncture resistance, they also did not stretch out easily, also the wording/verbiage on the sidewalls is larger. Yes the look narrower, not as tall, it’s the plys that reduce the size a bit.
The tricycle guy has a lot of info. on the trikes, for sure. Im in the middle of putting my '83 110 back on the trails. Have a stripped shift shaft to deal with but othewise a very " respectable " machine . Thanks ! 👍
Awesome video! More info than my little brain can contain! That rhymes, lol. Love the little trikes too, got a 1979 110 that is all o.g. love it to death! My very first three-wheeler. Hope your doing well.
Thanks brother! Doing great over here! Just trying to live my best life... Winter/Cold temps are coming fast... so I'll have to start prepping for what's coming and get things tucked away very soon.
I owned one atc90 from1975 to 1978. As far as I can remember, the tires were much diferent from those in the video. The rear tires were trctor like, with W protuberances and the front one had linear protuberances along the perimeter of the tire! I' m from Portugal, perhaps diferent countries had diferent models of tires.
i need to somehow find a head light switch for my 79 110. mines broken off and missing but luckily i guess it broke off when it was on lol so it could still run.
Listen there Mr. Buysall... you need to re-watch my balloon tire 90 video and you'll see on the VIN that they're stamped with US90 through 1973, and in 1974 they start stamping the frames ATC90. HOWEVER, on the fender, even in 1970 they were branding them the ATC 90. So... make of that what you will, but thems the facts sir...
Hi Preston, I have a question, I was just reading a 1974 owners manual and it was talking about using 91 octane leaded gas or higher, What would be a good substitute with the gas we have today? I have a 78 ATC 90, a 74 90 and a 82 110, just wondering about this because I remember most engines before unleaded gas that came out, later had to be converted to hardened valve seats as far as cars and truck go to prevent any damage.
2:35 I know that guy he don't have a clue, hahahahahahahah, I have very little to offer here id have to read up on it, I have a 73 Ballon us90 and absolutely none non balloon atc 90, compiling the archive brother your correct on the 110 change over to pro-am..... ertl toy Co. Made a scale model of the 78 I believe, those toys do pop up on ebay periodically..... never heard that about the headlight switch doubling as a kill? Interesting, THAT NUMBER 1 DECAL ON THE 85 200M TRUNK LID??????? That looks like the 83 accessories brochure 250r fairing number plate decal
I had recorded this video (the first part) back in August... and that SP vs. FR question stumped me and I couldn't find anything. And that video you did answered it for me and I was like THERE IT IS! So, I tucked that little tid bit under my hat and knew I'd be including it in this video. I've seen the Ertl ATC 90's and would like to get one at some point. And yes, the 3 position switch on those headlights need to be on for the machine to run. Very weird set up. And I'll have to get a close up of that #1 decal! I think you may be right!
@@ThisOldTrike Bruce and I can't seem to find that number one I wish I could send a pic of the brochure through RUclips comment but I don't know how...i don't think the stripe kit had a big number I gotta check the "honda bible" and see what was in a stripe kit

I’m currently restoring a 77 as well! Can’t wait to get it done. Good luck!!

I’m also doing a 77…it’s my wife’s year she was born
I bought a used one in either 77 or 77 when I was in 7-8th grade. So much fun and few scares, a few cops warning and a lot of smiles.
That intro of the Honda wing made of 3 wheelers is a powerful sight!! Love it
Thanks brother!
I need to buy one of your 78 90s.
I realized i need one in my life.
Check Facebook marketplace. They do pop up for sale.
Yes , they do .. but i want one of yours. You fix them up right.

Interesting. Maybe my facts are wrong, or maybe they changed it up at some point because it was dumb...

your knowledge of these runs deep, awesome stuff bro!

I wish I had started doing that 5 years ago!

Yes. Every 90, 110, and 1st gen 125M is like that.
I have my father's original 1975 ATC 90. still in the family
i need to somehow find a head light switch for my 79 110. mines broken off and missing but luckily i guess it broke off when it was on lol so it could still run.
Question. I thought only the 1st year 1970 90 was the US90 and '71 begins "ATC90"? Care to clarify?

Do you have any Christmas special 110s?
Just Halloween 185's.
Never owned a 90 or 110... But the 110 was popular around here.. 👍
#makeatcsgreatagain
Yes sir! I think they were popular just about everywhere. There was nothing else to ride! That was the big dog of it's day.
I used to have a 1975 90
