I also completed about a year ago, or whenever legendary edition came out i played. Damn, just damn. Ive never wished to be able to re play a game for the first time ever until now.
+Kaldwin Its so awesome how we all get different interpretations.. for me, this song evokes a very deep, almost primal sense of exploration within me.. I imagine scuba diving or in a submarine and exploring the very depths of the ocean.. the synth-work, guitars, and drum samples have a very "underwater" feel to them, I can't really explain it.. it's like deep under the ocean with sunlight reflecting off the surface to deep below..
I remember finding this song after becoming a fan of Faunts after playing Mass Effect. I remember thinking it would make a good credits theme for one of the next games. Lo and behold when ME3 comes out I am pleasantly surprised!
This! I just LOVE that they brought faunts into the last game. M4 part 2 got me hook to this band when it came out and I'm just really glad they brought them back.
I just wanted to listen to this song again. I read your comment and wanted to like it.... and couldn't. I had liked it years ago already. I'm commander Shepard and tlotpwist3417 is the best wingman on the Citadel.
I discovered this music with mass effect, it has a strange impact on me: makes me want to cry even if I'm happy and makes me wish to listen it again, even if I am malinconic, to cry more. The feelings born with the game don't help me to forget this song.
M4 part 2 at the end of Mass Effect 1 told about a amazing epic story, which you had completed, but promised a more and best yet to come. Das Malefitz is returning you back in time to the moment when you completed Mass Effect 3 the first time, at the strange ending, when you realising that the Shepard's story, the hero you were playing through the ages, are now ended one way or another. The crew, friends, Joker, the LI - you are never to see them again. Earth in ruins, mass relays are destroyed, you achieved a victory, but it's all over, and it's the end of story came through ages. Your real life ages. You feel like large part inside your soul are now empty. That empty space, of course, get filled with something all through your life. But this song - it returns you back. It makes that space that used to be empty, resonate within you, relive that moment, remember who you have been at that time. I had a girlfirend who also loved Mass Effect, but she died out of cancer not a while after. You remember all your thoughts and dreams, when you were that young. I guess this tracks is a definition of "time to grow up, no more fictional stories, face the life as it is." Maybe it's just me. But videogames, as the music such as this, is indeed art.
Just finished the trilogy once again with Legendary Edition and the ending still gave the feels T_T. I love this song and it's such a fantastic one to end it with.
Fucking loved the ending. Wasn't a happy ending but the whole universe went through a massive shift and broke a million-year cycle. All because of Shepard. I honestly think that only Dune (the books, not the movie) is the only other Sci-Fi that gets this fucking epic and emotional.
A lonely road, a single car lighting up the blacktop as it winds along the dark curves. It does not know the destination, only that it is alone. As the night passes, so do the thoughts of the driver. "Where am I headed? How did I come to be on this endless stretch? Is this what it is to be alone? I feel the car, I hear the hum of the engine, but it is too quiet. Solitude is not as I imagined." In the end, he submits. He cannot escape the endless road he is on. All he can do to stay sane is put the car to the utmost limits and race for the end of the road that he isn't even sure has an end. And so the car surges ahead, seemingly filled with a new energy, but the hopelessness of the driver begins to affect the scenery, and all seems to begin to fade. And it does. Into Black.
Mass Effect 3 and this song itself both really mean something to me. They connect to me on an emotional level. The ending of Mass Effect 3 in general, no matter what choice you made was really fantastic. As soon as I saw Shepard bleeding out and Hackett trying to find out what is wrong with the Crucible, to when Shepard makes the final decision; it made me think about Humanity, the miracle that is life, synthetic existence, and more. I'm not afraid to admit the beauty of it brought tears forth.
This is so amazing. Faunts has such a wonderful sound. Glad to know that they've returned for ME3, I was honestly disappointed that they weren't part of the ending credits for ME2.
It's weird. Even after all the shit hit the fan with the ending of ME3, I don't regret a moment I've played this series. And I kind of want to go back and do it again. This music makes me feel things I can't explain.
Same went for me as well. the world may hate how ME3 ended but at least there are people who respect good music and generally, an end to an amazing franchise
For anyone who has finished mass effect 3. If you didn't cry as hard as I did at the end, then replay this song over and over until you do. As soon as - that certain thing happened at the end - I burst out tears. Mass Effect had some good times - Saved the Council and the Ascension, Destroyed the Collector base and ----( Omit Spoiler )---- Incredible game. If there is one character that I fell in love with; Liara. Above all else. Really hope they release another alternate ending in the DLC.
This song is the good part of Mass Effect 3 Ending ! Can't wait anymore for another game of the series...I'll miss Shephard so much; No matter what scars you bear, no matter uniforms you wear, you can fight like a Krogan, you can run like a leopard but you'll never be better than commander Shepard! dun dun dun dundun dundun dun dun can't forget this another piece of art lol so funny
And Shepard Didn't Die! Not in my Game, She took a Breath at the end. I'm still waiting for one more story as Buzz Aldrin said to his grandkid at the end! Just One More!!!
This has a definite "John Carpenter," "Escape from New York" sort of vibe to it. Can absolutely see it being used in an 80s-era sci-fi movie. Great song!
The ending made me cry, it was an incredibly awesome and moving scene - Liara's face flashing before my eyes, joker saluting me and my mentor and friend anderson giving me a resounding nod... I cried. Especially when Liara's big beautiful eyes looked up at me as my body was burned away by the green laser. Then I realized that the ending actually had made a bunch of loopholes that really didn't make sense. So if you ask me, I will tell you that the ending made me cry - in a good way! But...
I really don't know why ppl hate the ending of Mass Effect3. I love every single piece of the game! And it's finally became a legend as the best sci-fi trilogy of all time. What else could we want? And great song BTW I really love the tunes Faunts use! Awesome!
I liked this song before it was in Mass Effect. And it was my favorite song before then as well. And I like it even more now that it has been in Mass Effect.
I'm coming ME 3 just working through ME 2 rn. Mass Effect Legendary Edition is simply the chef's kiss. A perfect way to get back into the franchise after a bit of a big hiccup.
This song will always provoke an uneasy and yet not entirely unpleasant feeling in me. And I'm sure it primarily has to do with how Mass Effect 3 ended. It wasn't a particularly good ending, but the journey to it was amazing. So on one hand I'm overjoyed at having gone through such an experience, and saddened by its end. Yet, at the same time, I'm still bitter in how it all ended at the final minute. Bittersweet, through and through.
i was here since ME1... liked it's credits' song n searched out about the band... Faunts... ME series started with one of their song, and ended same way... it was nice they put it in the credits, made me bring back memories from ME1... still hate the endings... but it was epic that this song was there...
not gonna spoil it, but i like how the song translates into "the evil deed" because the "indoctrination theory", a theory developed by fans to help others understand the ending, states that each ending is a renegade action forced on you that leaves us with only one way out: dlc to expand the ending.
Strange. this song is associated with such sadness in the ending. but listening to it without seeing the ending is strangely comforting. Kind of like the ME1 ending song (M1P2) or the ME2 suicide run music. Makes me think of all the crap i've been through to get here. Makes me kinda feel like life will go on, but in the meantime, the possibilities are endless, ya know?
And that is why It was so wonderful. unanswered questions and lies arouse the mind, spark equations and deductive reasoning, and lets people spend time on the game, without actually playing the game.
Not a moment of regret indeed. Despite the crappy endings of the third part, i would never want to miss out on the experience that was the Mass Effect trilogy.
apology accepted.....I was psyched to see them add another song to such a staller game.....even if the ending is rooted in controversy......I "accepted" the original endings but enjoyed the extended cut ones too.......
It's so frustrating that I worked so hard to bring peace (a chance for free-willed synthetics to live with organics) only to be slapped in the face to pick mediocre three endings. Everyone in the damn galaxy wanted the reapers dead, and yet I can't choose an ending where the reapers die and everyone else lives without any DNA intervention? I don't even care if my Shepard dies to get that option! (It would surprisingly fit the whole sacrifice thing too) Plus I was hoping for a badass boss fight. :(

Yeah I know, and to an extent I agree with you. I still feel that my actions made a difference, but that's just me, and although I am okay (to an extent) with the current state of Mass Effect, I still would've liked some more of those moments where everything comes together. and even after the Extended Cut, some more closure wouldn't hurt. The journey to this ending, though, is what I think I loved about this game the most. The music was amazing, too. especially in the first and third games.
Yesterday I completed Mass Effect 3...
I have no words... This game series will be forever in my heart
Welcome to the club!
I also completed about a year ago, or whenever legendary edition came out i played. Damn, just damn. Ive never wished to be able to re play a game for the first time ever until now.
It's been almost 6 years and it still hurts.
i feel ya. the sweet melancholic nostalgia
Yea, like a happy regretful feeling.
This song has such a heart ache to it...I can't explain it, but it has a pained atmosphere.
***** thank u yes that is the word

+Kaldwin i'll side with the melancholy feel, i picture someone thinking about what he lived and wondering how things could've been different
It has,indeed.Shepard died...a Trilogy,the best ever,just ended.
This Song fits perfectly.
Yeah uhm perhaps it's the shit end to an amazing trilogy
haha I heard this in a restaurant and I was like "Wait a minute....that sounds really familiar!"
If I heard this in a restaurant I'd be all like"well time to head home and play mass effect all over again".
Was it your favorite restaurant on the Citadel?
Hearing that in public must give some epic feelings
@@imix360 Yeah, I would be super hiped if I ever did
Fell of my chair when Jeunet used Leaving Earth in the TS Spivet movie
I get strange feelings when I listen to this. Strange thoughts too, like I might wander off into the mountains and not come back.
WTF, so true.
That actually describes this song so well. x')
Yeah, same kind of?
That´s how Mass Effect 3 ending felt as well.
If you find a sphere that glows a light green and hovers, whatever you do don’t touch it

I LOVED Mass Effect 1,2,3 and all the Endings. It is still one of the best series in gaming history!
Couldn't agree with you more.
It will always stay as my #1 Videogame Series of All Time
***** I also agree.
Mortal Kombat the best of the best
to me mass effect is just mass effect, I can't judge the games separately.
This song both helps me to relax and become uneasy at the same time
I felt pumped up and wanted to draw everything for me :-)
I felt ready to face anything, I could imagine this song playing as i prepare for my last stand
I chose synthesis so Joker could get laid with EDI.
I'm Commander Shepard and i'm the best wingman on the Citadel!
You just also got your best friends pelvis section crushed...

This song is like an ode to forgotten and gone friends
Вспоминаю как закончилось моё приключение в МЕ и я долго сидел перед монитором, слушая данный трек!
3:28 is just straight up chills going through my body, beautifully composed.
This is good but the ending of ME1 fading into M4 part 2 was the coolest outro ever. Maybe the outro of Tron Legacy with its kick ass soundtrack.
With Normandy departing in the background, unforgetable.
This music never fails to give me goosebumps.
With the synthesis ending, i wonder if Joker would need condoms or Avira
bruh

I always figured that this song was made by the music producers/artists that were part of the Mass Effect team. Amazing song.
M4 part 2 at the end of Mass Effect 1 told about a amazing epic story, which you had completed, but promised a more and best yet to come.

Yeah but hey, I for example wouldn't know them. Think about others too, would you? ;)
Björn Mätal You probably would. After all, they made Brilliant M4 Part 2 for the first Mass Effect game. That song is just amazing!
