Not true. Malaysia has the highest foreign direct investment and tourism arrivals today. The economy is also on the uptake now. Just because Malaysia's GDP is not as big as Indonesia or Thailand does not mean the country is on the decline. Its just that there is a larger 'consumer base' in these countries. Malaysia is still far richer than Indonesia and Thailand and only behind Singapore in terms of wealth. Brunei is only rich because of its royal family. The general man on the street is not rich. In Malaysia, at least 8 cities are richer than most countries in Southeast Asia.
Tell me any Prime Minister/President who have lesser family wealth after came into power. Even Lee Kuan Yew family become really wealthy after he and his son become the PM of Singapore, his another son become the CEO of national telecom, his daughter in law become the CEO of Singapore's sovereign wealth fund (Temasek) and other related family members.
