DJ, what are those ears originally for? I have a 4L80E from a 2002 Silverado. I need to trim the ears for my headers too. There are threaded holes in the ears, not sure what they're for. I didn't pull the trans from the donor truck, I bought it as a pullout, so I haven't seen whatever was bolted to those ears. Thanks for the video

The dust shield cover bolts to it with those holes. It is a half crescent shaped metal cover that most guys toss out when working on converter or pulling transmission. The ears get cut to better fit headers and to be able to pull transmission with most headers and exhaust still attached to motor.
