Just got the game and I’m using the long sword. Base game I can’t do r2+x sheath counter? Or am I missing something? It’s not showing up as a move in training.
Prioritize Getting To RED! I'd argue to NOT use the "Special" move (R2+Triangle) until you've gotten to RED. There's a lot of damage that you get once you get to RED, so, again, I will say to Prioritize getting to RED. Once you're there, learn the loops of the weapon to stay in RED and profit from all the damage:) Definitely learn the counters as well and the Fade Slash (Triangle+Circle), as well as the Foresight Slash (R2+Circle), will be your best friend:) As will the Iceborne moves for the Longsword as well. And eventually you'll forget that you have a dodge button XD
what are the buttons to do the cool special jump attack right after the charge forward move ? i've been playing with my friend who plays the axe that changes into a sword and always blame him for sending me airborne but i think i did it without knowing once or twice
No. The foresight slash is a shortcut to the roundslash. It's always the roundslash that lvls up the bar. If you pull off the foresight slash but you miss the roundslash, the bar doesn't lvl up
i paues the game for bout 2 years utterly forgot about the r2 + O - no wonder i had easier fights in memory .... countering and filling up gauge is the actuall way to paly the ls - then again im also moreo n duals and charge blade in the last couple of weeks and only switch ls if i really need to finish the quest ( now with the memories back i am very much sure to play it only if i really dont have time)
I feel it I just came back from a 2 year break to prep for wilds and yeah I forgot all about the counter I couldn't remember the buttons and been looking at videos to remember the combo lists 🤣🤣🤣

Only Iceborne DLC has access to the sheath counter

I’m actually switching what weapons I main and I’m having trouble reaching the red gauge in the midst of combat.

If you have energy in the gauge and you timed the foresight slash correctly, then you can do the spirit roundslash

For Xbox Controller, press RT + A.
Can only be done if you have the Iceborne DLC and after a majority of attacks.
I hate creators who only speak on console controls. This game was literally built for PC
