Regarding the pay for your managerial responsibility, the money is rarely worth the additional responsibility but I find advocating and generally "being there" for people to be its own reward. Very happy to hear your job wasn't terminated as a result of your injury.

You have this RUclips thing figured out. Outstanding video work. You also have this bubbly champagne can't-sit-still personality that translates well on screen. You know what really makes your videos work in my book? You have a sense of storytelling - the mix of editing, pacing, differentiated segments, scenic shots interspersed with analytics, flashbacks, etc. In other words, whatever planning goes into the execution is paying off and allowing your distinctive voice to come through. Sure, you're charming, candid (even about taboo subjects others would shy away from like money), and your diction is refreshingly crisp, but loveliness alone would only get you so far. I think that what's really helping you grow and will drive you to greater heights is the craft behind what you're presenting: structure, scenery, in-depth analysis that never becomes tedious, judicious editing that is neither too languorous or ADHD frantic, and, again, that sense of storytelling. Some folks may believe they're returning because you're cute and sparkly but that's a dime a dozen; in a deeper sense it'll be because of your attention to detail in planning and executing makes your narratives compelling. Anyway, congrats! About a year ago, I idly clicked on a "I work on a cruise ship" short because I couldn't sleep and can't believe I'm still here.

That's a good salary for what you're doing on YT and social media as a whole. And you deserve it. You're editing skills alone are freakin amazing. I feel like you could just do a straight up travel vlog on YT (the Japan trip content was great}, that would take the cruise ship part out of it and you'd still be really successful. Well going on a ship aaand working on a ship two very different things. But a few short years ago Jason was a dancer on NCL talking to his laptop in a tiny cabin in the bowels of the ship. Now Jason is better known as.J. The Nomad host of The Ship Life and takes about 20 cruises a year as a guest and gets invites to media events on brand new ships.and is licensed as a travel agent with a sponsor. Which is to say with a lot of luck, being in the right place at the right time, with tons and tons of effort and practice you too may find yourself in an amazing place you might have hardly dreamed possible doing things you could only have dreamt of doing a few short years earlier. You just never know. Two things I would advise, that which comes suddenly into your life can leave the same way. So never take it for granted that this is permanent. In that vain be smart with your money and you can start a nest egg to last a lifetime. 3rd is never forget to enjoy every moment and remember to disconnect every so often to savour the memories for yourself, then back to chasing the next opportunity and next adventure. Gaining new skills and new experiences will always be to your benefit. Lastly there is nothing wrong in deciding in the future to walk away from this and say start a family while you are young. Too many people try to tell others how you have to live. I just hope whatever path you choose sees you happy, healthy, and loving life. Peace out. ❤😊

I think you made the MOST if it and combined it with YT . I’d suggest doing your Group Travel Tours, maxing out your YT engagement is your best route . Can you estimate how many hours a week you've been working? Between being a dancer, the company manager, miscellaneous crew duties, and all your social media work, I can imagine you've been working 80+ hours per week for a long time. So yes you've been making a lot of money, but you've also been putting in the work! And I think some people might not be fully appreciating that.
Oh goodness, I never wasn’t working 😂 I started around 8 or 9 most days, and finished around 1ish! If I wasn’t doing ship work, I was doing something for my social media so that would put me at roughly 90-100 hours per week
That’s what upsets me a lot, so many people say “get a real job” and they are so ignorant to what it takes to create content! Ugh. Being a content creator IS WORK!!!

Love your videos. I got the chance to work harvest several years ago and it was great to connect with my roots (both grandpas were farmers but I grew up in town). Our setup was old school 1980s Gleaners. Like you said, one of the coolest jobs. I still miss it.
Did 2 contracts as a bar tender on a very well known cruise line with big ears during a University gap year 20 years ago. My basic salary was $25 per week, I worked 10-12 hours 7 days a week. My service charge/tip amounts varied between $3000/$4000 per week--this was in the era where there were no drinks packages--every single drink I made I took home 15% of the price of the drink plus extra tips that guests would leave. You work on a deck bar during the day then work in a lounge bar at night the money soon comes rolling in. You rotate bars every 2 weeks and the bars to avoid are the restaurant service bars or the crew bar--Zero tips!

your videos come together really well but I can't help but imagine how funny it must look that you're running around like crazy for at least a couple hours telling parts of a story in one place and then running to another place to tell another part of the story and then getting up and running to the next spot.

When you measure dry ingredients such as the oats you need to use a regular measuring cup. What you used was a glass measuring cup for liquids. Yes, there is a difference and when you are baking it makes a difference.

With all the passive income advertising I receive, sometimes it can be hard to lose sight of how much time and effort people put into their content and presence, especially if they do basically everything by themselves. To her boyfriend if she is your love of your life do not lose her. I did at her age and that was the biggest mistake in my life. I just had graduated college and my girlfriend wanted to get married but I was not ready. We were seeing each other for 4 years. Biggest mistake in my life.

I’ve been feeling so much more healthy since leaving the ship both physically and mentally ❤️🙏 the stress of being a manager was eating me up way more than I realized so I’m really thankful I’m not doing it anymore but it was a great experience ✨

Which is to say with a lot of luck, being in the right place at the right time, with tons and tons of effort and practice you too may find yourself in an amazing place you might have hardly dreamed possible doing things you could only have dreamt of doing a few short years earlier.
You just never know.
Two things I would advise, that which comes suddenly into your life can leave the same way. So never take it for granted that this is permanent.
In that vain be smart with your money and you can start a nest egg to last a lifetime.
3rd is never forget to enjoy every moment and remember to disconnect every so often to savour the memories for yourself, then back to chasing the next opportunity and next adventure. Gaining new skills and new experiences will always be to your benefit.
Lastly there is nothing wrong in deciding in the future to walk away from this and say start a family while you are young. Too many people try to tell others how you have to live.
I just hope whatever path you choose sees you happy, healthy, and loving life.

Ali it’s great you did this financial breakdown in a creative way - after 35 cruises in 8 years ,and having been “crew “ on a US Merchant Oil Tanker .its a LONLEY life , you work your ASS off. I think you made the MOST if it and combined it with YT . I’d suggest doing your Group Travel Tours, maxing out your YT engagement is your best route . Can you estimate how many hours a week you've been working? Between being a dancer, the company manager, miscellaneous crew duties, and all your social media work, I can imagine you've been working 80+ hours per week for a long time.
So yes you've been making a lot of money, but you've also been putting in the work! And I think some people might not be fully appreciating that.
Oh goodness, I never wasn’t working 😂 I started around 8 or 9 most days, and finished around 1ish! If I wasn’t doing ship work, I was doing something for my social media so that would put me at roughly 90-100 hours per week
That’s what upsets me a lot, so many people say “get a real job” and they are so ignorant to what it takes to create content! Ugh. Being a content creator IS WORK!!!

Love your videos. I got the chance to work harvest several years ago and it was great to connect with my roots (both grandpas were farmers but I grew up in town). Our setup was old school 1980s Gleaners. Like you said, one of the coolest jobs. I still miss it.
Did 2 contracts as a bar tender on a very well known cruise line with big ears during a University gap year 20 years ago. My basic salary was $25 per week, I worked 10-12 hours 7 days a week. My service charge/tip amounts varied between $3000/$4000 per week--this was in the era where there were no drinks packages--every single drink I made I took home 15% of the price of the drink plus extra tips that guests would leave. You work on a deck bar during the day then work in a lounge bar at night the money soon comes rolling in. You rotate bars every 2 weeks and the bars to avoid are the restaurant service bars or the crew bar--Zero tips!

When you measure dry ingredients such as the oats you need to use a regular measuring cup. What you used was a glass measuring cup for liquids. Yes, there is a difference and when you are baking it makes a difference.

With all the passive income advertising I receive, sometimes it can be hard to lose sight of how much time and effort people put into their content and presence, especially if they do basically everything by themselves.

To her boyfriend if she is your love of your life do not lose her. I did at her age and that was the biggest mistake in my life. I just had graduated college and my girlfriend wanted to get married but I was not ready. We were seeing each other for 4 years. Biggest mistake in my life.

I’ve been feeling so much more healthy since leaving the ship both physically and mentally ❤️🙏 the stress of being a manager was eating me up way more than I realized so I’m really thankful I’m not doing it anymore but it was a great experience ✨
