Obviously....in the 70s-80s someone with a middle-class job could buy a house, car and support a family when they're in their 30s. This whole discussion should be framed like "how much people earn vs how much things cost" Most of the time, the so-called "job creators" end up charging more for whatever they're selling over decades. But they don't raise the wages of their workers to match that price increase. So it's back to the good old "how much the owners pocket" vs "how much the workers pocket"
Are you really not gonna do an episode about what is happening in Gaza right now? not important enough for you? or you only talk about them when you can justify their deaths but you can't now ?

Finally! Someone who doesn’t put all the world’s problems down to a culture war. It is indeed, all about money. This interview is a breath of fresh air.
I'm sorry, but it's not all about money. Easily disproven. Saying it's all about money, it's a way that people low in status and success comfort themselves by alleging both to themselves and to others that the system is rigged, that the women don't like them because they're poor, they don't look good because they're poor, they don't have friends because they're poor and they're miserable because they're poor. Because they're poor. These are stories that primarily male humans tell themselves to justify the reality around them, which is actually much more cruel and less subject to change. Bill Cosby and Harvey Weinstein both had status and money. What was it they had to do to have women sleep with them? It's not all about money. It's all about attractiveness and status.
Im digging Scott Galloway's talking points. Im a young male from Africa and what he's saying applies here. Our fathers and grand fathers are making dough, and they doing well off compared to us. When my mother was my age he already had two kids a home and a stable income that could support her kids and her own parents. And here i am now, with a college degree but working minimum wage, cant even afford a home or to take a bank loan to start a business coz i dont have the financial backing. And the so called entry level jobs are asking for 10 years experience. where am i supposed to get 10 years experince when i just graduated from college two years ago. I have business ideas but i cant get the money to start up that business without doing something illegal. The environment has changed drastically ans my mom is always telling me this.
Hearing Mr. Galloway speak about young people identifying their talents in highly paid, economically secure industries that match their lifestyle growing up (or for some, propel them to a more affluent class) is exactly what my father taught me when I was young. That’s how to raise young people who will be successful in life and contribute to society.
I believe there is no thing as toxic masculinity I believe in immature masculinity and mature masculinity all lot of people today don't know the difference.
I’m a fluid mechanics engineer studying for the mech. FE exam. I’m glad my parents recognized my talent and pushed me to pursue Stem. Thanks for being a voice of reason and soundness of thought and reality.
A couple points: 1. The "rise of women" is largely a Potemkin Village of unmanageable debt, and the whole thing is a facade. Having a "good" job and a stack of graduate degrees is worthless if you have $300k in student loans. Many women are seriously screwed and nobody cares. 2. If you produce more college graduates, you don't get more college-educated professionals; you get a completely vicious competition for scarce entry-level jobs. 3. Colleges don't teach real academic subjects any more. Worthless classes are better for retention. 4. The whole College-Career track worked so well for Boomers that they can't imagine a world where it doesn't. It's easier to scold young people than to help them. 5. Opportunities for social interactions have declined precipitously since 2020.
It is a contradiction. He tells everyone to go into trades and then sites not going to university as a marker for a bad life. I've never considered the fact that it's going to be the women who get screwed by debt.
@@passyourielts Women hold the most debt & they largely spend based on emotion so many are out here alone & unable to fix it all on their own. The dating market is full of desperate women that want you to pay all their bills & help them get out of debt more than anything else.
We’ve sent more and more people to college for the past 60 years by lowering standards. Unless it’s higher ed for a VERY specific vocational skill set, you’re just giving degrees to people who wouldn’t have graduated 1950s high school.

Scott is right. Piers is not listening. My dad in 1950 was 20. He was newly married and a tile setter. He took a lot of jobs, hired 2 more guys and they did well, hired more people, etc. within 10 years had 30 crews, a good construction company, was able to pay them well and provide health insurance, pension and had an Uber successful business for 54 years. He had a high school education. The trades are a good way to make a wonderful living. Rise of the middle class.
I’ve said it for decades, if everybody was a musician or artist who’s going to build the bridges or hospitals. You can take pride you’re doing a service or trade that gives back to your community. +60% of entrepreneurs fail. Can’t really pay your rent or mortgage during the winter or Christmas when there’s, slow months. Nothing wrong with working for a large company.
You are right; but I also hope that if those bridge and hospital builders dream or aspire to music or arts that they devote some of their free time to that passion and that the % of them who find unexpected success chasing that pipedream recognize how lucky and privileged they are and give back helping more achieve the same in the future.
@@lizardjoel yes but you’re still going on your emotions thinking you have to like your work. It’s called work for a reason. It’s giving back to your community and building a future society for your children. Our grandparents didn’t go on their feelings or emotions. They did what had to be done. People, confuse hobbies and work as the same thing. Sure do your hobby and if you can turn that into a career good for you, the 1%.. but you still have a duty to give back to your community. You can be looked at as contributing or being selfish.
I agree with you that there are things that just need to be done and we, as society need to do them. I think the trouble is that so many people feel that they are actually doing completely pointless jobs that are in fact NOT giving back to the society. Let's take financial services for example, a huge part of UK's employment. Most of these jobs are fairly well paid but are they really needed by society? There are plenty other office jobs that you end up doing literally just for the money, ultimately with little or no sense of being useful. There are also many jobs that are needed but just so hugely underpaid that you really struggle every day with little hope for better tomorrow. And I think that the key difference between our parents and us now is that they literally built better tomorrow not only for themselves, but also a better society for their children. That is really something we lack these days. What's the goal of working 9-5 and "giving back to the society" when you know you will never even be able to afford your own place to live or start a family?
@@franekspeak953 well you have a choice, you could work a pointless office job for pennies or you could get a real job, architect, engineer, accountant, or trades and tech, which pays a lot also. just depends what type of brain you’re born with.

Which is, similar to artist or musicians. The same way you’re a hypocrite because you’re in the entertainment industry. So if everybody was in the entertainment industry, who is going to build the hospitals and bridges. Your job doesn’t contribute to society at all. The world can survive without you. Good for you. Just know where you stand in the big picture
True story: we were on vacation at Pensacola Beach last year and ran into a kid, honestly a kid, who was doing landscaping in Tennessee. He was telling me how he was supporting about 40 clients and mentioned something about certifications and such. I asked him if what he was doing was legal, then he told me he was driving a truck. He was 14 years old. Crazy skinny kid with a mullet, there with his parents on vacation. I told him more power to you. You know a millionaire's coming when you see one.
If your fathers a multi-millionaire you can afford to pursue your dream. If you come from a normal working family, you are better doing what this bloke says. Like Arnie says "Be useful". A plumber or a carpenter is much more useful to society, and can take care of his family better, than an out of work musician or actor.
Finally, someone who understands the real challenges faced by young people today. I recognize that my generation often glorifies victimhood, minorities, and mental health issues. However, for the silent majority who lead normal lives, it's truly depressing. No matter how much effort we put into work, studying, staying updated, and being passionate, it never feels rewarded. It's like a never-ending chase for something that should be accessible to everyone: a house and a family. To give you an example, my husband and I are both 30 years old and hold Director positions. Without naming names, my husband has worked with some of the biggest companies in the world. We live in Italy, where the cost of living is relatively low, but taxes are staggering. Despite receiving a UK/US salary, which puts us in the top 1% for our age group, we still struggle to afford a house without taking out a bank loan. It's increasingly worrying that we could end up in significant debt, paying almost double the house's value no matter how much we earn. And I'm not just complaining for myself. Most of my friends have various degrees in useful specializations and still get hired as juniors, struggling to afford rent. It's scary.
Which means u have to comprise economically which brings u right back to square 1: Working ur way up and still not being able to comfortably afford what u want.
I really enjoy listening to Scott and have done so on dozens of video presentations. He admits his greatest tool is his gift of gab. Scott's issue is that he has begun to realize the harm ultra-liberal policies and the infiltration of liberal demands within social and mainstream media have caused American and Western society. Piers completely threw him off guard with a question he had not had a chance to think about and, therefore, come up with a fancy slogan or preprogrammed message. He asked him who is the most impressive person or person who should be president and his first answer was Madeline Albright who is the exact opposite of the young leader in politics he had spent the video talking about.....then he realized the absurdity of his own answer and reflexed to a bunch of left wing lunatics such as Gavin Newsom who has ruined California or Amy Klocouchar who has ruined Minnesota. His worst statement was saying "I am bit worried about business leaders who think they can all of a sudden cosplay politician". America needs business people in government who understand what it is like to form and grown a business and NOT more life long liberal politicians like Joe Biden and the people he mentioned. Let me be clear = It can be a center of the political road or even a slightly left-leaning business leader, but it should be business leaders in Congress and the presidency and not a bunch of lifelong political people. At the end of the day, Scott Galloway is just an ultra-left-leaning person who is wrong about government policy but who is only now beginning to realize the issues lunatic left policies have done to ruin today's American boys and kids and is trying to not face those facts and instead spin the latest mind games on how some new liberal policies and new left-leaning leaders will fix what they have broken over the last 30 plus years.
If I'm understanding you, we are in general agreement here. It reflects on a profound problem within the Democratic Party which Jordan Peterson time and again has asked ( according to him, mingling with upwards of 30-40 Democratic Congresspersons ): "When does the Left go too far?" He said he has never gotten a clear answer. Which is astounding and ridiculous. He adds that the Right call out their extremists and/or condemn and distance themselves from them. The Left does not. IMO, when the Left worships Inclusion ( except the more moderate or any traditional conservative view, of course ) and shushes negative judgment of extremism, then it's a potent and disastrous mix. Some lifelong Liberals such as Bill Maher have been calling out the lunacy, but he seems to be in a stark minority.

Scott Galloway is talking about structural economic issue, but Piers Morgan constantly deflect to the "culture of the times". This is the classic conservative move; "where are the black fathers?", "young people are entitled", "masculinity is under assault". Reduce everything to an issue of individual moral failings, or a cultural degradation. It is red herring to prevent any talk of corrective action, i.e. the implementation of public policy to address the inequities in society.
...ah yes, "public policy" is the non-conservative go-to. There are 200,000 regulations weighing down any manufacturing facility in the U.S. to even compete...which they can't. Watch out for these "policy people" who make their own societies weaker, poorer and disadvantaged by criminals, while touting their "virtue-signalling" moral crusades.

Israeli PR shot itself in the foot in my opinion by insisting 'most Palestinians support Hamas.' Don't interrupt your opponent when they're making a mistake. - If the pro-Palestine/anti-Israel say most hate Hamas, then Israel won't murder civilians since the civilians are allies of Israel.
I love that Piers brought up “virtue signaling”, because that’s so true and I was just thinking the same thing… Where people will attach themselves to whatever thing is going on and protest or show pride or whatever it is, and many times, they don’t even know what’s going on… My dad used to say that it drove him crazy, when in the 60s and 70s, people would “jump on the bandwagon” to whatever the latest cool thing was going on around them. He’s from Oakland, California and all around him, were people that wanted to be hippies, because that was the coolest thing then and they were just “fake activists” and didn’t really know what was going on and they weren’t educating themselves.
I agree that talent and mastery trumps passion, but creates more than passion, it sparks growth and self worth. I agree with Piers about entitlement. I think both don't understand the underlying problem - which is fake money. The biggest difference between then and now is unlimited creation of debt and the entire structure built around it to protect it. The media, paid politicians, lobby groups, etc, etc. Vested interest maintains it's power via diversion and division. Black against white, feminism, woke, pop stars, constant babble and focus on everything superficial ... leaving vested interest away from the spotllight.

Loved this interview. So calm, no shouting, but still exploring complex issues where the interviewer amd interviewees may not agree on everything.

A couple points:

Which is, similar to artist or musicians. The same way you’re a hypocrite because you’re in the entertainment industry. Piers has done his homework and not afraid of challenging the guests. Scott is no joke, insightful with a sixth perspective, great duo and interview.
Something does not fit when he said he like Gavin Newson. He lost me there and probably a few more people.

Where was your outrage on October 7th? If none, then you're just as guilty for not caring about civilians.
Just as guilty? Lmao 🤣
If your fathers a multi-millionaire you can afford to pursue your dream. If you come from a normal working family, you are better doing what this bloke says. Like Arnie says "Be useful". A plumber or a carpenter is much more useful to society, and can take care of his family better, than an out of work musician or actor.
Nah
It's scary.
He wants more government money for useless $80,000 universities and students taking their useless degrees.

Excellent comment.

People need to listen to this Professor... HE should be a leader in the US or United Nations !!!!
Galloway is a male bashing feminist
Not good.
Thank you Scott for the awareness on this. Thank you Piers for having this important conversation.
Piers is ignoring Gaza since he knows very well that he can’t defend Israel anymore.
Zionists are fooled by Hamas propaganda! Quote 1- Gazan 🇵🇸 to IDF 🇮🇱: 'We must take down the heads of Hamas. Don't leave this place! People are stupid and do not understand anything. What are we to do with all of this? This is all because of Sinwar and Haniyeh. Haniyeh eats at restaurants in Turkey. And Sinwar eats hidden underground. They eat meat while we eat bullets.' - Source : kfsPPvA8nLE
Quote 2- "HAMAS is killing my people. (...) Most Gazans are against Hamas."-Jordanian -Palestinian Mudar Zahran. - Source : O7Go9af9koY
Why don't we just show this to every university? Gazans don't want ceasefire!
Israeli PR shot itself in the foot in my opinion by insisting 'most Palestinians support Hamas.'
Don't interrupt your opponent when they're making a mistake.
- If the pro-Palestine/anti-Israel say most hate Hamas, then Israel won't murder civilians since the civilians are allies of Israel.
This guy's message is oppisite of alot of people im not impressed with a few of young people where i live. I do love this person's message.
Screw passions be useful to the world.
I really loved this interview, I feel like we need more people like Scott Galloway right now. Thank you, I actually needed to hear this today!
What about Rafah?
Shut up
😂
AFRICA!!!, NORTH KOREA!!
AFRICA!!
Nobody cares
Wow… really enjoyed this conversation….. intelligible, articulate, respectful and backed with fact…. Love it when there’s fact to back a point of view
Agreed
Bombed tents, scorched bodies, behead babies
And all we hear is crickets
Where was your outrage on October 7th? If none, then you're just as guilty for not caring about civilians.
Wars against islamic extremists have collateral damage. Grow up
What an engaging and _enjoyable_ discussion this was.. thank you!
Interviews conducted in this manner by both parties.. is one of the 'abilities' that seems largely lost in the younger generations
The Internet/'social' media has a big part in that!
Piers talking about Stephen hawking “quote I like to wheel out” lol
omg!!
A clearly very clever gent. More people like him please.
