First: Great playing by Organist Scholl. It is wonderful that so many musicians still study and play these magnificent instruments. Second: Has this this orgel has been rebuilt since Herr Schnitger rebuilt it from Herr Wilde.? It bears the mark of a Schnitger. It appears that the church lacks a high nave (ceiling) and thus the sound seems more constrained. Third: I am not familiar with this composer, but his work deserves more attention. Bravo for Ms. Scholl. William Stead, organ enthusiast
No, it has never been changed profoundly since Schnitger's rebuild. At the last restoration by Ahrend in 1982, only 6 completely or partially disappeared stops had to be reconstructed. Trompet 8 HW and Regal 8 BW are still reed stops by Wilde!
The mics were placed in the normal 8m distance, the room is extremely dry, we have added no reverb, so what you hear is the real acoustic situation you can experience during a concert.
@@on9mmk Having studied the instrument myself for 11 years and having been a dedicated audiophile since 14 (I”m now 75) I can assure you there’s more going on here than the usual vandalism of RUclips compression.
Einfach klasse. Vielen herzlichen Dank.

A Calcant is credited --- this organ was never electrified.
We asked a calcant for the recording - but the organ is electrified. You can choose, if you run with motor or with calcant.
It may be a fabulous organ but placing the microphones so close to the instrument doesn’t help.

Its not the recording that sucks here, its youtube making shit out of this recording, as RUclips always does. Its called "compression".
