Hey Antonio. Do you have a video about how to choose a proper inseam with respect to height and type of pant/Jean cuts? I'm short 5'8 and have bulky thighs. My go tos are levis 511 with a 30" inseam. But this look still bunches up at the heels of my shoes. I want that no break look. Should I shoot for 29" or keep drying them and hope that they shrink lengthwise? Thanks for helping.
Hey Antonio, big fan! I have a question for you. I am a big guy. Big as in big not tall, if you know what I mean. My wife is graduating college this may and want to wear a sports coat. Is a sports coat flattering for an over weight guy and where would I start looking for one? Thanks for all of your advice.
I agree that undershirts are not a 'stand alone' garment, but that is a flimsy argument. Neither are boxers or briefs. Team undershirt all the way. Unless you are a savage, and 2018 is your first year for wearing clothes. And thanks for the link and coupon code
savage??? seriously? depends on a climate and the way you sweat, for me in summer (30*C++) with undershirt I sweat, and stay wet... without - dry, so team NO :-P
It's unfathomable why you can't just strongly recommend it, by citing good personal experience perhaps. Instead, you turned absolute Nazi. Truly barbaric, undershirt or not.
I'm definitely team undershirt! I used to wear the athletic shirt, but then the sweat stains happen. I used to wear the v-neck, but you see that when wearing a shirt and tie...not a good look. Keep the videos coming.
Yes, wear them. I see way too many employees sweat through and or have the hair coming out. With white shirts I believe it is a must for most men. It makes white shirts whiter and hides all of the stuff no one wants to see. Just an opinion of mine but have seen and heard feedback from coworkers and clients pull me aside and bring it up as a point of hygiene.
There's also the matter of appearance. If you sweat through your dresses, even if you don't show the slighest BO, you still look sleazy, like you're dressing above your capabilities. This can tank your image, especially if you work with sales.
It is super hot here, up in Northern California; I was really wanting to wear something nicer than dark t...but still stay cool. Was thinking a button-up with no t might just do the trick. Look better, but, stay cool too.
I'm a European who travels a bit, and usually team undershirt is usually an American gentleman. I'm team no undershirt. My way of getting away with no sweat is using aluminiumclorid twice a week. It gives of a little sting, but leaves me with a cleaner look. IMO. Also, wool is ALLOT better at keeping dry, as it breaths allot better, and to a certain degree help keeps keep b.o away.
An undershirt changes the way your shirt drapes for the worst, this was not mentioned in the video and it's the main reason I don't like them. A distinction should be made in wearing them for work attire, where sweat stains are an issue, and wearing them to go out when you're trying to look your best and not with a lumpy draped shirt.
I'm team tank top undershirt. Why? For whatever reason, my pits don't sweat much even in the summer But I am a hot-natured person and my chest and back sweat quite a bit. I also understand that no one wants to see man nipples especially as we grow older. So I need an undershirt but I want the least amount of extra fabric that will do the job I need it to do. I've seen some stylist complain about being able to see the tank top undershirt...well, what would you rather look at?
Tank top is fine. It's not possible to have every man wear deep v-neck invisible beige undershirt like many have been trying to foster. Personally, I'd love to see diversity of choices among wearers of undershirts.
I am team undershirt, bcause i live in tropical & humid country so i hav to wear undershirt to protect my shirt and my own body's "perfume" from spreading outside :D
Five sons and six grandsons, my daughters and I love folding our mens nice undershirts, and purchase quality undershirts. Undershirts and good boxers are a must for gentlemen at home...re very sexy will try the Thompson's tees
But here's an advantage behind wearing an undershirt during the warmer months if you get hot you just remove all that stuff they were wearing and just simply wear the undershirt like a t-shirt so yeah it's pretty versatile actually bye
The last reason immediately reminded me of Alpha M. haha I had always been wearing undershirts (I used to dress nice every day during high school) but the undershirt would always make me sweat way too much. Sure it helped protect the outer shirt from the sweat stains, but without an undershirt I didn't sweat as much to begin with. Once I discovered that not wearing an undershirt was even an option, I haven't worn one since. The only reason I'd wear an undershirt is for the sweat protection, and I have experimented with homemade remedies. Unlike most products you advertise, I'm likely to try the Thompson Tees.
What an honour, wow, for a long time I didn't really have access to branded ones but last year on alpha m. channel there was promo code for ribbedtee (something like buy 2 get one or something like that) and I kinda stuck with them. They are affordable yet suit my needs perfectly.I might get my hands on thompsontee now tough!
I nearly always wear an undershirt because sweating just doesn't look cool unless of course you're out there mowing the lawn lol. Overall you pretty much nailed all the reasons pro and con, but I think once people start wearing one they won't go back to dressing without an undershirt.
I wear undershirts almost everyday during the winter and sometimes fall. It keeps me slightly more insulated, it’s an easy way to layer, it makes me look slightly more buff, and yes it keeps my slightly large nipples from visually assaulting everyone through the thin shirts I usually wear
I wear them all year long and thought that was normal lol. Do people sleep shirtless too? You guys wake up and just throw a random hoodie over your skin?
Definitely Pro-Undershirt. I can understand not being used to it, but it was a mandatory uniform item for 20 years for me. It's just automatic. It's also very true about getting more use out of your shirts as well. It's a no brainier. In addition, the need for a quality shirt with moisture wicking is key.
I'm personally on Team Undershirt all day every day. I found them out by accident when I was in middle school, around 6th or 7th grade. We had strict uniform standards, such as a button shirt and slacks for regular study days and a tank top with shorts for PE class. And I sweat _a lot,_ always did, so I ended up with a MASSIVE sweat stain on my back and on the pits regardless of deodorant brand. Since we had PE always early on in the day but couldn't enter the place with the PE uniform, several of us wore the tank tops under the button shirts to enter the campus to make changing into the PE uniform faster. Just so happened that on a hot day I realised I wasn't staining my button shirt with the tank top under it. Real bingo moment. My mother mentioned that her father was a stylish man who worse undershirts when out of the bakery, so I always wore them as underwear ever since, even in the most casual days imaginable with sneakers and t-shirts. That said, I do not go for pure cotton ones, even if the fiber is thin and of good quality. My reason is, cotton doesn't promote evaporation, so when it gets drenched it stays drenched. I prefer a mixed mail of cotton and polyester, which in the right size is snug but comfortable and wicks away humidity really well. As for them showing under the shirt (like the stitching around the edges), that's why I don't wear shirts of thin mail. EDIT: I also don't wear undershirts standalone, much like I don't wear my boxers standalone. Underwear is UNDERwear for good reason.
Real Men Real Style Typically yeah, but growing up in north Texas, I found it easier to protect the duration and look of my nicer clothing when wearing a lighter layer underneath. Do I run the risk of cranking up the heat? Quite possibly. But when carefully played out right, in terms of the rest of my outfit, I find it to be practical when it comes to not having the risk of showing sweat marks in my nice clothing. IMO
I use undershirt all my life for reasons 1 to 4...and I laugh at those guys who don’t wear them (trying to be sexy) but they get those nasty sweat stains.
I have to, because of the dreaded sweaty armpit problem. This the only way I can enjoy wearing dress shirts, polos and such of certain colors. 2:03 I wish I didn't have this problem, but life is life, you deal with it and move on.
bought 7 of the thompson tee deep v's and wear them everyday. love how they dont show when the top buttons are unbuttoned on my dress shirts at work unlike regular v neck shirts. and finally no more sweat stains!! only wish is that the deep v neck came in slim fit instead of only the original fit. i would have liked them to fit a little tighter.
Team no undershirt, although I would call most of these things a singlet or a t shirt. I would wear a singlet if I were trying to keep warm. A singlet can't easily be seen. I think the visible shirt above the collar or through the shirt is a very bad look but it seems very popular in America!
I’ve always worn an undershirt underneath my dress shirt, but I think I’ll consider losing the undershirt and going bare like you from now on. During the summer, I was lining up and I could see the undershirt underneath the shirt of the man in front of me. This triggered me, and I thought it looked terrible.
I always plan on getting naked at some point and having an extra shirt looks bad. I also undo a top button and show my chest. I know it sounds corny, but izzz getz lizzzzaid.
I wear an undershirt all the time. Im a bigger guy 390lbs and found that an undershirt is a must. Being as big as I am when I lift my arms up the bottom of my stomach can show and I just feel its only right to have an undershirt to keep your skin from showing. An undershirt also helps keep your skin from getting irritated from your suspenders.
Oh, right, suspenders. I can see those causing chafing easily. Also, as a fellow fat guy, undershirts help a lot with hiding belly skin, whether from lifting the arms or from a suboptimal fit causing the mid-button sections to flare open when I'm sitting. That was very embarrassing in the school uniform - I felt like a slob.
I've always wondered this. You watch John Wick, or any other movie and guy are putting in very nice dress shirts with no undershirt ... it makes my brain short-circuit 🤣😂
I think it was to give a rougher impression. On the other hand, I saw bankers, lawyers, gov officials, other professionals, even those in sit-coms wearing undershirts all the time. Or perhaps you were watching British movies - they don't have culture of wearing undershirts.
I've used an undershirt for years. I love them. My motivation behind it is to protect my nice over shirt from sweat (and body oils, dander, funk, etc.)
Although I don't wear dress shirts as often as I used to, I've gotten in the habit of wearing undershirts that it still sticks with me to this day, even will t-shirts. Without it I feel weird and naked. I like that extra mild compression on my torso, it makes me more aware of the motion of my body. P.S. You said you were going to share your opinion only to say you're unbiased. I believe you're team no undershirt only because whenever you're wearing your shirts with your top two buttons undone you're never wearing an undershirt until this video.
I'm a undershirt guy, prevents the sweat from showing under my arms and back, i tend to sweat a lot in those areas. I would love to see a video explaining how to prevent sweat stains appearing on the side of the collar, they are a prick to wash off. Thanks for the great video!
Team undershirt, I tired going no undershirt but it chefs my nipples and neck lol. BTW, after a few hours collared dress shirts start to chef along the side of my neck and might cause a small red blemish after a long day. Any suggestions to resolve that cause I can't just cover it up with an undershirt?
I was never instructed on any type of way to dress or use of deodorant when I grew up so my first prefessional job at 18 years old where I worked both inside an office and out in the field with the Army Corps of Engineers I learned the hard way. After working hard outside one day my boss took me aside and told me I stunk and was offending the ladies of the office and I learned quick how to utilize an undershirt for sweat absorbtion and as a barrier to my outer uniform shirt. I was embarrassed to say the least and didnt even realize I smelled bad but that made me a believer in the under shirt. The materials that are available today Under Armour for one are much better but I still prefer a Cotton tee. The new fabrics are just too pricey for me. I just have to replace them more often as they get stained. Having spent the last 18 years in uniforms and suits for court I am never without my undershirt. Any one who has worn kevlar or had to sit on a witness stand in court knows the benefits of breathable layers under and outside the vest amd uniform.
No Deep V's on men. God no! That's just wrong. Great vid as usual though. I want to know how you said "keep your nipples from getting hard" with a straight face. I pee'd myself. Reminds me of the movie "King Pin" where Randy Quaid gets a cold beer.
Hi! This is a good video. I am wearing undershirts under my shirts. My very first reason is skin sensitivity (I have ASD and SPD). For all the other listed reasons, I found out later. Even if it is summer, very hot or dunno what, I wear undershirts...
What I wear: -15 to 1 celsius: T-Shirt, Shirt/Hoodie/Sweater/Tracksuit, Jacket, Underwear, Socks, Boots 1 to 15 celsius: T-Shirt/Shirt, Hoodie, Jacket, Pants, Underwear, Socks, Trainers 15 to 18 celsius: T-Shirt/Shirt/Hoodie (any of them with nothing under), Pants, Underwear, No Socks, Trainers 18+ celsius: Tank Top/T-Shirt/Shirt/Hoodie, Pants, *No Undies, No Socks*, Trainers Sometimes I even wear tracksuit jackets with nothing underneath and I can unzip it fully.
I have a Thompson Tee...thought it would be really nice...but when I received it it felt like there were maxi-pads in the pits. I figured I'd give it a try anyway, but between the maxi-pad armpits and the bamboo fiber construction, it really makes you overheat and sweat more than a regular undershirt made of polyester, lycra, modal, or a comparable fabric with no reinforcement in the pits. The bamboo is also a very friction-bearing fabric. Not a fan. However, I do hope to find an undershirt that meets my needs.
What a good video. But am I the only one who noticed he miscounted his reasons for skipping an undershirt? As he went 1, 2, 3, he went back to 2, then 3, 4, and 5. But other than that, good video, Antonio.
Undershirt! I got another pro! spray your cologne in the mornings, on the undershirt. As you perspire, and get hot, you work against nature and smell “good.” I once had an intern tell me, “You are the best smelling man I have ever smelled!” Maybe he was sucking up, but since his dad was my boss, I doubt it. I smelled good because my wife uses those Dryer Towels, fabric softener, and I applied a skin-scent cologne to my undershirt. While we are on the topic of subtle skin scent colognes, don’t underestimate them. Someone comes close to you, and whiffs, they are drawn in!!! Most expect bad breath or funk, and they get this inviting scent. Go get um!!!!
I like to just wear black t-shirts everyday for work, plus a jacket to go over. Is this okay? I just don't like regular button shirts as it makes me sweat more.

Team undershirt. By the way I love to use a compresion type undershirt as they fit pretty comfortable under any type of dress shirts even under a regular T-shirt. I do this because I'm a big chewbacca guy. So I try to always look clean and this is what has worked best for me. Kind Regards Antonio keep on the good work.
I wear undershirt but not as often as I used to because of how it used to fit and how I sweat and the deodorant I used to purchase. Now I changed my deodorant and I’m not so sweaty anymore but watching the video opened up my knowledge about getting the correct fit and style and color.
I live in the uk and it get really cold a lot of the time. So I always make sure I wear a T-shirt under my hoodie or jacket. It keeps me warm and is comfortable. Can’t see why not?
Of course if you have hyperhidrosis, you must wear an undershirt . Men its called function over fashion, but of course don't pick chipest one . And go to original and high quality one , just like that Thompson tee it's very comfortable and amazing product
In Australia we wear singlets although some do wear the under shirt or we call them T-shirts. However there are a few different singlets some have a thick shoulder strap and harder to find these days are the thin shoulder strap. But you are so correct unless your under garment fits properly you will spend your day/night fidgeting to distraction and feeling fat.
Undershirt all the way! It is simply more practical. Also I have habit of taking of a shirt at home and walk around in undershirt, get some water, wash hands, all the stuff before you change. If you don't wear undershirt, you should change, if you need to take off your shirt, otherwise you might traumatize people around you with all the heat your body radiates.
Guys I would wear an undershirt but the issue is I have really bad sweat in my neck. I wash my shirt every 2 days or so and the sweat in my neck leaves visible stains in my collar rim and in my cuffs. I get sweat in my armpits and back too but theres no stain, not even temporarily. Whereever the fabric is doubled it leaves a stain that Is quite hard to remove. (My shirts are 100% cotton.)
I never have a problem with sweat stains unless it's on a grey t-shirt. Although now I say that I've not had that problem for years but I always tell my mate who sweats profusely to wear them. So I'd say go for it BUT let's not fuck about. If you get a bird home and she sees that she's going to think you have a b.o problem or something. Like when birds wear them things that hold fat in, you just assume she must be fat just for wearing it.

Team undershirt - I'm used to it I feel naked without
I always rock an undershirt when I need to change.
Jp Jp - Great seeing you here again. What's your favorite brand?

Thank you, Antonio. I usually wear the cheap ones such as Hanes V-neck but they serve the purpose that I need.
"Be comfortable with being uncomfortable"
team undershirt
If socks are for my feet, then undershirts are for my body.
Wearing a V-neck when wearing a tie puts a little less fabric around your neck and makes it more comfortable.
Team undershirt for me! Protects your nice shirts from body oils and sweat. Helps keeps me warm. Looks decent than showing up chest hair.
Exact same with me. Can't go without them.
I wager Antonio wears his undershirts discreetly.

I played sports all the time and if I don’t have a under shirt it just feels weird.
I'd be shaned as hell if I was called aside for that. I'm very hygienic and downright paranoid about my own BO.
heres how to solve the deodorant problem, dont wear any, you will smell less without it
And stay away from synthetic fibers. Make sure there is absolutely no polyester, nylon or lycra in your dress shirt. Then this works!
No Deep V's on men. God no! That's just wrong. Great vid as usual though.
I want to know how you said "keep your nipples from getting hard" with a straight face. I pee'd myself. Reminds me of the movie "King Pin" where Randy Quaid gets a cold beer.
what kind of animal doesnt wear undershirts, great vid antonio!
Hi! This is a good video. I am wearing undershirts under my shirts. My very first reason is skin sensitivity (I have ASD and SPD). For all the other listed reasons, I found out later. Even if it is summer, very hot or dunno what, I wear undershirts...
“Are you Team undershirt, or team I’m going to destroy my dress shirt?”
“As you can see, I’m totally unbiased.”
Yeah, no. You are definitely biased.
What I wear:
-15 to 1 celsius: T-Shirt, Shirt/Hoodie/Sweater/Tracksuit, Jacket, Underwear, Socks, Boots
1 to 15 celsius: T-Shirt/Shirt, Hoodie, Jacket, Pants, Underwear, Socks, Trainers
15 to 18 celsius: T-Shirt/Shirt/Hoodie (any of them with nothing under), Pants, Underwear, No Socks, Trainers
18+ celsius: Tank Top/T-Shirt/Shirt/Hoodie, Pants, *No Undies, No Socks*, Trainers
Sometimes I even wear tracksuit jackets with nothing underneath and I can unzip it fully.
Undershirt. I'm French: hair and sweat, enough said.
As you perspire, and get hot, you work against nature and smell “good.”
I once had an intern tell me, “You are the best smelling man I have ever smelled!”
Maybe he was sucking up, but since his dad was my boss, I doubt it.
Now they sell undershirts similar to spandex even it comes with flat belly look. Less than $20 on Ama...blah blah.
Exactly. My undershirts all fit snugly and they make my outerwear fit so much better.
