Why are they blurring out the faces of the people breaking the law, while showing the faces of people who actually paid? Should be the other way around. The people who jump the gates like that at least deserve some humiliation, although they probably aren't the types that get embarassed easily.

Agreed. It seems as if many cities don't want to curb fare evasion. It cost the taxpayers a lot more $$ hiring transit police. They can't be everywhere!!

We have light rail here in our country and this was never a problem. This is the first time I heard such concept. The courage to defy law at its finest...very poor

There attempting a similar revamp in NYC as well to prevent fare invaders. There are many turnstiles that go from floor to ceiling, why not put them everywhere!? Or stop hiking the price.

Yep, or still jump over them. We have these in The Netherlands at the bigger stations and they just don't stop fare evaders. The smaller stations either don't have any gates at all, or have gates that are higher, but they still don't stop fare-evaders, they either crawl underneath them or climb over them. And fuck, 2,5 BILLION euro's was poured into this bottomless pit, the National Railways even lost sight of something like 1 billion of that money and could not explain where it went... current costs today are being kept a good secret out of reasons for 'competition', which is total bullshit.
I still wonder how many extra ticket check teams one could have hired and for how long if you had 'just' 2,5 BILLION to spend...
