  • One of the iconic ski tours off of British Columbia’s Roger’s Pass is Seven Steps to Paradise. Nothing technical, just good views and cold Canadian powder. This is a moderate tour that takes you up the Illecillewaet Glacier at a gradual gradient to then contouring around on the Youngs Ridge. Then from roughly 9,250’ you get to ski rolling terrain down to 4,500’. Get it in cold Canada conditions and it’s primo.
I personally found this tour to be paradise because you have the opportunity to gawk at all the extensive peaks that surround you for the entirety of it. One of which is Mount Dawson’s Comstock Couloir which is in great view from the top of Youngs. This was the day prior to my skiing the Comstock Couloir and I hope you can see why I thought the snow could be nice a bit further out there.
Have you personally skied this iconic tour off of Roger’s?
The Seven Steps to Paradise is the third episode of The Classic Flow. A multi-part series that will dive intimately into the journey of Michael Wirth climbing and skiing 31 of the Fifty Classic Ski Descents of North America in just a single season. I hope you subscribe to stay tuned into the many more to come.
