Just found the Tusca Hitchhiker on Facebook today. As a hotshot driver who had a trimmed down Full size memory foam mattress in my Ram Megacab, Im used to the road camping life. My truck has the Rambox bed, so no camper shells fit that setup. The solo at 48" wide is the perfect fit for my truck!
Thanks for watching! The truck bed version of the Tusca Outdoors HitchHiker shown in this video is not for sale. Additional testing is underway. Stay tuned!
Sense you have to order and wait for the tusca. It would be nice if they gave color options. You can get bed liners in red, blue, black, and many other colors. Would be a nice option for people that want to match their trucks
@@powerstrokemaintenance It won't let me post a link but if you do a little research you'll find that it is not allowed to be attached to the hitch. Same thing for a goose neck in the back of your truck.
I'm looking at getting a Sunjoy Icecove mini air conditioner. 2500 BTU's. Can run off 120 or the battery you can buy extra. With all the driving you do you could charge the battery in the cab. There are RUclips videos on it. There are a couple other mini AC's available but they're even pricier and this one seems better thought out.
I’m wanting to order one of these but I’m on the fence it being styrofoam, I’m sure the bed liner coating makes it stable but can’t get over the styrofoam. Any regrets since you got it and is it pretty solid and stable?
Very solid. I've had one in my truck for over 20k miles. Driven through woods and bounced it off lots of tree branches. Not a single scratch or crack. They also make repair kits for it if that helps!
I have the same WDH. I was wondering if you were going to measure the distances for the brackets. And you did! Bravo!! Could you put a fold up cot in the camper? Enjoyed this work trip with you.
Thanks Paul! Yes I always measure. And you I don’t think you could fit a cot in my version of the camper it might be too short. But the 7 foot camper you definitely could
Hey, I was wondering what setup you have? I have a 2019 F-250 Lariat with the decked drawer system. The bed is a 6 1/2 foot bed. Will the hitchhiker fit the bed?
What happens if someone closes your tailgate while you are sleeping? How do you get out of the camper? Do you have something that blocks the tailgate from closing?
I’m the guy that noticed you when you first got the Tusca. I’m excited to get the 7.5 hitchhiker once they get the truck mount to market. What drawer platform did you buy? I am a fabricator and was thinking about building my own platform myself. So how are you liking the Hitchhiker? I just talked to Josh last week.
Use code "PSM" (case sensitive) for $100 off your HitchHiker at tuscaoutdoors.com/products/the-hitchhiker-79-89-truck-camper
That hitchhiker is perfect for what you do.
Indeed it is. For a lot of others it wouldn’t work so well…but In this situation it’s great

That’s awesome to hear! I’m sure it would be a really comfortable setup
The only problem with that sleeper is you cant run an aux tank or pull 5th wheels so u limit what u can run
Yeah it won’t work for most people
Mount in on a gooseneck trailer over the neck.
@@SaltySeabee you dont pull a goose neck trailer in the rv business so that doesnt help
I enjoyed all parts of the video. It was interesting, thank you for sharing! I'm glad the sensor replacement worked!
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it
Tip-out windows in the Tusca would allow the windows to be open without letting any rain in. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for the comment!

Agreed. I've suggested it to them. That's a good idea
If you have any input on camper might be a good idea to make door a half door so no one could put your tail gate up keeping you from getting out
Noted, thanks! We discussed it and you can just lock the tailgate when its down. No way to latch it then
Would be great if it had a pass through front window
You can add that custom if you want it
I know everyone does it but your breakaway cable is not supposed to be connected to any part of your hitch.
Yeah it’s supposed to be attached to the hitch receiver like I did in the video

Interesting I’ll check it out!
Love the video. I thought you aren’t allowed to have anything above your bed sides?
Thank you! Only if you’re towing fifth wheel

How do you stand up inside if I am 6' 5"???
Bend over???

When you say you have a 6 1/2 bed do you mean 6 feet 9 inches? Theres a launch coming soon for a version that may fit
@@powerstrokemaintenance oh okay, thank you

Put the tailgate down. Latch it. Lock it.
