The life of the American author TC Boyle was plagued by addiction since his birth. His parents were alcoholics and over the years he got to know various types of addiction personally. Some of these almost destroyed him; one addiction, however, made him what he is today: a superstar of the literary world, a professor of literature at the University of Southern California and an enigmatic character even outside of the office where he writes his novels. The secret: TC Boyle is addicted to writing.

I have to laugh my ass off the way ignorant people throw around the term "punk" and attach to it any stupid thing they want. Being a heroin addict is NOT the definition of a punk rocker, even though some punk rockers were addicts. Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page were heroin addicts, so does that mean they were punk rockers? Lots of punk rockers are vegans, so does that mean all vegans are punk rockers? Wearing Chuck Taylor tennis shoes and a leather jacket like Joan Jett, Patti Smith or other poseurs does not make you punk. Jello Biafra, Conflict, DOA, Dropkick Murphys, Crass, Really Red, Minor Threat, The Gits, The Dicks, Fugazi, Swinging Utters, etc..... THAT IS PUNK! Whatever this guy may be.... he ain't got no punk cred!!!!!! Zero.
