Just got that today too but with upgraded wheels and in silver. Your mom still love it? I can’t wait take this car everywhere. I love it so much and is a HUGE upgrade from my 2016 Subaru Crosstrek.
@@ofcbob6391 For a vehicle like this the engine doesn't need to be very powerful because there is no actual link between the engine and the wheels, all the real work is being done by electric motors. The PHEV outlander was designed to operate first on its battery and then use the engine as a backup to charge it. That said, the engine does charge the battery and if you feel like you'll need a powerful engine to charge the battery without plugging in or you are in an area where there is a lot of distance between plug-ins and you want to use the vehicle for road trips that might be a concern, and it might be better to opt for a mild-hybrid instead of a plug-in. I can also speak as an owner of this vehicle who has taken it out on long trips and attest that the engine's low power output doesn't seem to be much of an issue due to the motors in the drivetrain.
Have a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL and they are excellent quality compared to competitors going back many years. I used to be a Subaru Forester fan and the Outlander change me over. I would only own an Outlander or Forester when compared to other vehicles in their class.
We just purchased 2024’ Outlander SE White Diamond color with black edition wheels. Paid $34.5 with dealer discounts. It is super nice. Mitsubishi makes all around nice looking cars.
For the price it is great I got one as a rental, I like I put 2800 miles round trip. Averaged 28 miles a gallon driving about 75 miles an hour. Was good comfortable and pretty well equipped. Plus the price is good. Did not have no issues. Most other Japanese suv are higher priced. Yes the draw back is like 1 dealer per city. Wichita kansas also only has one. The quality build was good too
I've heard the dealer complaint before. I live in a mid-to-large size metro, and we have 7 dealers, while VW only has 3 and Mazda only has 1. So it must be hit or miss depending on where you live.

I was was set on a Kia Sportage but after dealing with 5 dealers and their ridiculous scams (5k markups over MSRP!) I opted to take a look at the SEL Outlander. I am glad I did, it was far more luxurious and spacious.
My dealer (High Point Mitsubishi in NC) upgraded my warranty to 20 years and 200,000 miles no additional cost. They were awesome. Can’t wait to take this thing everywhere hehe❤
I'm really thinking of getting an SE (has all I need) but have two main concerns: Do you feel that the engine is OK for just all-around driving, enough power? And those 20 inch wheels with little rubber between the rim and the road bumps, is the ride not that good?

Great job Mitsubishi, and it would be exciting to see what other new models they would roll out. I think the RVR will get a all new model. Super stoked! And great video, guys!
That 3rd is not usable. My wife and I tried to justify it but it's a waste of space and weight. They need to remove it or extend the length of the Outlander to make it work. Kia Sorento would be a much better-psuedo 3 row vehicle
I'd say the biggest strike against Mitsubishi is their minimal dealer support network. There are 4 Toyota dealerships and 4 Honda dealerships in the city I live in (OKC), and only 1 MItsubishi dealership which is one of the most crooked in the state.

I did a couple thousand miles across the US in a rental one, and thought it was really great. I'm not an SUV guy at all so I don't have much to compare it to, but we loved the interior and the ride.
I bought one for my wife a few weeks ago, the power of the engine and the performance of the CVT box leaves a lot to be desired, although for the city and long trips it is perfect, otherwise I can only say that it is perfect
I'm looking at these Outlanders also. The horsepower was one of my concerns but I don't need a rocket ship either. I've heard ya its not snapping your neck back but its not that horrible too. For what you get I think I would be alright with the lower hp. It's nice and great warranty.
Some misunderstanding here; there is no CVT box, in fact one of the nice things about the Outlander PHEV is that it has no gearbox at all. When driving mainly on petrol, at most speeds the transmission of the engine to the front wheels is through a fixed ratio; otherwise the engine drives an alternator which charges the battery and powers the electric motors.
Whoops: I thought this review was mainly about the PHEV version. So, if you're not happy with the CVT or the acceleration, suggest you consider the Outlander PHEV, which is better on both.

You don't know anything kid. Mitsubishi is an amazing brand wihr amazing cars and tech. You'd have to get the maxed out spec Toyota to even have the base or medium level trim outlander even then the rav4 has no features.
Well Mitsi is popular in Asia & Oceania with wide variety of models in every segment available even have a pick-up (see Triton) that honda and subaru doesn't! It is only in N. America they have small foot print.
Mitsubishi is a huge corporation, their American auto market operations is just a small part of what they do so they have a very large corporate backing with very deep pockets. They’re going nowhere.
@rhoelg It’s very popular in the Caribbean too. They sell a wide range of car in the Caribbean too. The pick'up they sell in the Caribbean is the L-200. My favorite car is the Pajero.
My 2012 RVR (outlander in Canada) is rusting from the inside out. It lives in a garage, no salt on roads, very low mileage. They kept pushing off the repair until they could say it's no longer under warranty. They had a recall to spray the undercarriage for rush protection but say it's unrelated to the paint issue (!!??).
You bros are awesome, why I didn't find you guys earlier! Awesome review, nice details that customers are interested about and great choice of words, makes it enjoyable to keep watching the full length of the video. 👍😇
Honestly, I'll get a KIA Sportage 2024 over this any day. Looks better, superior technology and way more reliability. Both need a turbo charged engine tho...
Your video is quite convincing, just bought a touring sel a month ago.quite impressive interior.its too early to break the bottle yet.2 things i really hate .its shocking they didn't put the remote start on key fob n no wireless android auto.thats a big minus. there r some other things which are ignorable like the third row.the center console,no spare wheel.ventilated seats. In new york if they wanna hang around with big boys they gotta keep those things in mind.remote start n wireless connection is very common these days.
I really am interested in this vehicle, however, the lack of ventilated seats is a dealbreaker. It's weird that this vehicle goes as far as having massaging seats but not ventilation. As a person who runs hot and that my 2011 Optima has ventilated seats that I use nearly daily, the fact that this car doesn't have it (in the highest trim), blows my mind.
I have a Subaru with ventilated seats and maybe its just the perforations or the leather in my car, but I rarely use the ventilation and I live in Florida. As long as the real leather breathes well I'm fine. Now if it were vinyl seats (leatherette) it would have to have ventilation imo.
If a good vehicle has a big problem with the CVT transmission, maintenance is very difficult. And the price of a new one is around $8,000. Be careful with the warranty.
I like this new design but the third row needs to be larger or they need to just scrap it altogether. Not a great competitor with that tight space they days.
It's an emergency 3rd row, it's a 5+2, the Tiguan is also available with the same 3rd row concept, the CR-V and the X-Trail (Rogue in the U.S) is also available with the same 3rd row and all of them are smaller than the Outlander, if Mitsubishi made the Outlander bigger then it wouldn't compete with the RAV4, CR-V, Rogue, Tiguan, Sportage and Tuscon.
It's not a 3rd row design like a Tahoe. You're not putting anything over 4' back there for long. Our Acadia's 3rd row of seats has been folded down since we got it 3 years ago. It's storage space that can occasionally hold a couple more little kids as you squeeze your children and their friends into the car to go get ice cream.
Could have been a great contender. Headlights are just way too much for the front end, plus that useless third row where most car makers sacrifice a spare tire for.
You can actually fit a space saver spare wheel on this new Outlander, in Australia, they come with a space saver spare, IDK why the U.S doesn't but the AU version comes with it and with a 3rd row too and also it's a 5+2 not a full 7 seater, it's what you call an emergency use 3rd row, the Tiguan, CR-V and the X-Trail (Rogue in the U.S) also comes with the same concept 3rd row and all of those are even smaller than the Outlander.
I love just about everything about these vehicles. The only thing keeping me from buying one is the stupid CVT. I'd also rather not have the third row seating, but that's minor. The CVT is a deal breaker though
Really good choice especially since the Mitsubishi dealers aren't marking up the MSRP. Pretty much what you build on the website is what you can expect to pay when you actually buy it.
@@thomasperez8978 Depends where you live. They recently experienced a Canada wide MSRP increase of around $500 dollars. So after the discount you're probably paying the same thing as before. Still good value for the money though. Just decline their tactics to make you purchase warranty lol.
Do your Outlanders come with Matrix LED high beam headlights in Canada and the US? We get them standard in mid and top end Outlanders in Australia. They are amazing at night and it's a real pity if you guys miss out!!
I had a 2017. Great SUV. I wish this new model did not have those lights on the side of the grill. I am not sure if they are the head lighta or fog lights.
inside vehicle designs these days are pretty cool, and useful but what I don't get is why they never seem to integrate the infotainment screen into the dashboard. I mean it looks like a sore thumb sticking out. Blended and flow _ that what designers need to keep in mind. not jutting out like it was a las minute add-on. just saying
Love the design and interior and tech. But a Nissan CVT??? What a joke! And why a 3 cyk turbo engine in such a large SUV? I looked foward to se the tests of this good looking SUV, and the power train is a huge disapointment. Nissan have shit power train, and low quallity CVT, and engine(Renault) Why not go all the way and use Japanese quallity engines and go for a Aisin automatic gearbox?
My 2018 Outlander has been the best vehicle I’ve ever owned. Routine maintenance, and go. Going on six years of ownership with no issues whatsoever. Been considering a 2024, this video review has me ready for a test drive I think.
One of you stated that it's a Nissan Transmission, but I think Mitsubishi no longer sources their CVTs from Nissan. I think they now make their own. A point to be made about fuel economy is that (at least in my opinion) to get better fuel economy accommodations need to be made that impact longevity and reliability. I'd rather pay more for gas and avoid the repair shop even if it's under warranty.
How and why would the remote start be only good for 2 years?? That should come standard on the app, really squeezing the money from customes aren't we.

The fact Mitsubishi is still around is incredible.😅
It is, for sure! Even I as a Mitsubishi fan still wonder what their strategy is. But that Outlander they made sure was a home run.
It looks alright, I don’t like the CVT 😂
Everything is fine and dandy, but the LCD display should be an integral part of the dashboard and not glued on .
I have a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander SEL Touring. The car is great except it is hard to find aftermarket parts.
very funny start ! Enjoyed from Oslo, Norway
No ventilated seats kill it for me, I have them and I cant imagine going back especially with driving around with leather seats in the summer.
Mitsubishi lacks a high demand in the U.S. auto market. I haven't even seen a Mitsubishi dealership where I live.
Hi, greetings from BRAZIL. Very nice your video introducing MT Outlander. We expect to have this car here on 2024.
Thanks for watching!
You bros are awesome, why I didn't find you guys earlier!
Awesome review, nice details that customers are interested about and great choice of words, makes it enjoyable to keep watching the full length of the video. 👍😇
Thanks so much!
We can trust Japanese automobiles with closing eyes coz it's reliable
If you ignore the 3rd row this would be great for a family of 4
Honestly, I'll get a KIA Sportage 2024 over this any day. Looks better, superior technology and way more reliability. Both need a turbo charged engine tho...
The Toyota Highlander and Nissan Rogue had a baby, the Outlander is the result.
Love my Outlander 2024
What do you mean be careful, explain
Amazing review. Thank you so much…. Now I need start saving up to buy one. I love the car
Thank you! 😁
@@rapide12345up here in Canada, none of those models have a third row installed for emergencies.
If you need a third row SUV, stop fooling yourself and buy a mini van.
Actually I wish my 2024 didn’t come with the 3rd row. It used to be an option and without it you had a nice storage space.
@@rapide12345 Alternatively if you can find a Nissan Murano at a wreckers, you can get the full size spare there and that'll fit too!
I love just about everything about these vehicles. The only thing keeping me from buying one is the stupid CVT. I'd also rather not have the third row seating, but that's minor. The CVT is a deal breaker though
Definitely breaking Rav 4 Market !!
Three cylinders, four cylinders-it doesn't matter. It's still a toy, a delicate city car. A proper car starts with a V6.
Good review lads. I needed this one
Glad you enjoyed it
Wish that you didn't missed headlamp washer😢 its an ASMR for car guys😂
I average 29 mpg on our 23 Touring Model Outllander and same on Our 24 Outlander SEL Touring Model.
Really good choice especially since the Mitsubishi dealers aren't marking up the MSRP. Pretty much what you build on the website is what you can expect to pay when you actually buy it.
I see discounts on them now.
@@thomasperez8978 Depends where you live. They recently experienced a Canada wide MSRP increase of around $500 dollars. So after the discount you're probably paying the same thing as before. Still good value for the money though. Just decline their tactics to make you purchase warranty lol.
@@AndrewPersaud-h5w True. I live in the states and see at least $3500 discount for ICE and $5000 for PHEV.
Excellent review.
Would love to see these have an Evolution option. Like the lancer Evolution. Put tge 4g63 in it with a dual clutch auto 7 speed transmission
All the Mitsubishi models look good.
Best looking in the class
Looks like a small Explorer.
You guys are the coolest Scottish lads from the Black Smokey Mountains of Kentucky...
about keys, I have found that Mazda keys are made by mistubishi, and this keys look exactly like like mazda remote keys of 2016-> higher.
Thank you for sharing this video. 💚
Thanks for watching!
I like the color as well, which trim level is this?
inside vehicle designs these days are pretty cool, and useful but what I don't get is why they never seem to integrate the infotainment screen into the dashboard. I mean it looks like a sore thumb sticking out. Blended and flow _ that what designers need to keep in mind. not jutting out like it was a las minute add-on. just saying
Subscribing to remote start is a deal breaker. I'm not turning transportation into Netflix.
😂
Um... Having the second key fob underneath the FIRST key fob in your hand kind of really confused me! I want two Mitsubishi Outlanders, just like you!
Last version was terrible design, driver view was limit, interiors outdate. New version is ok, good price
good video , thanks
Glad you liked it!
Front end is BOLD DESIGN...1,200$ to replace a lightbulb
At highway speeds, the Hood oscillates up/down like its going to blow off.
It was fixed from 2023 and beyond.
So the heads up display is bigger then the infotainment screen big zonk for me
As an older driver, large diameter wheels with those small sidewall tires is a deal breaker for me. I just find them to be so ugly.
a good resting place in the back for passengers in a long drive :)
How is this considered compact? It's huge. It has 3 rows of seats.
Mitsushitty and Nissan are the same company. So it’s a Nissan cvt regardless
Why would you choose this over an Outback?
One is a soccer mom vehicle the other is for outdoor enthusiasts.
Is it as reliable as a Rav4, CX-50 or CRV? Kind of the most important question to answer
It’s made from Japan so yes? 🤣
How and why would the remote start be only good for 2 years?? That should come standard on the app, really squeezing the money from customes aren't we.
Or maybe an outlander truck version with the 4g63 engine and a 7 speed dual clutch
How about getting the Plug-in, getting more MPG
Renault savior of Nissan Mitsubishi
Very very very very very good looker mitsubishi car to see futuristic modern design with afvance technology
No localized remote start?.....after 2 years you have to pay?....😂
I have the 2022 Outlander. What did they update? Looks exactly the same as mine.
if it could tow min 3500lb i would get it because it has a good warranty but there is nothing i can do with 2000lb
Needs ALOT more power compared to what else is out there...
Yeah it’s slow
Rav 4 has 206 hp
Haven’t they solved the steering yet ?
The steering still looks unstable, like the models before!
Car looks nice, price is right, lotsa bang for the buck...... but it has a JATCO CVT transmission.
Yeap, JATCO suplies Subaru, Isuzu, Suzuki, BMW, Volkswagen, MG Rover Group and Land Rover, Hyundai Motor Company, Jaguar Cars, London Taxis International, Ford Europe, Renault Samsung Motors, Ford Lio Ho. Changan Ford, Chrysler Group U.S.A and Renault...
Correct, but I believe it's but to higher and different specs than b r hose in the Rouge.
I don’t see my home link in my display… I have the SEL tech package…
