We're at the introduction of the 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4x4 Sport pickup truck.
AJ's in the TRAIL TECH shop putting the finishing touches on our 2016 Polaris General 1000 customization build.
Then in TEST RIDE, Luke gets some seat time and air time behind the wheel of Can-Am's revolutionary Maverick X3 X DS on our home turf.

I really need to know how accessable the CVT belt is on the new can am. one major flaw to the previous versions was how inaccessible it was to change a belt in the field.
Could you guys PLEASE do some Suzuki testing and reviews, more specifically the king quad 750, from specs it's a competitor in the 500-750 market. I'm considering buying one and I'd really like to see one of your detailed testing videos next season on some!
What will happen if you put tracks on this Polaris General? Will it be unstable for driving in the corners with higher speed?
Is there any camber adjustment on that kit? The front is out of camber.

Hey Dirt Trax, can you cover Dakar 2017 event and UTV that won? I'm surprised to find there is nothing about those pony rigs anywhere(technical stuff). The guy that came 54th last year won this year's UTV category. I can go cover 2018 if not.....

LOL... If you add up all the addons that they have added to the General... It cost more than the machine was to buy. That is why they don't show the price.
They also don't actually BUY any of the shit they use either, so its not like they even know the prices..
I like the build but the only thing I would recomend is that you always want a wider rear tire in the back for stability. It makes a huge difference in grip and cornering flatter and not rolling over. I have been on both many times and it is very apparant. The manufacturers know this and that is why they always put wide tires in the back whether it be a atv or sideXside.
ill buy one whenever the tacoma go to rear disc brakes. what are they waiting for?
Why not get a raptor instead? Toyota may not change the rear brakes this tacoma generation.
8 months ago I decided I was going to get a sxs I couldn't decide between the general and commander 1k so close on paper so I went to dealership that sold both. I was very serprised what the difference was in person the fit and finish was far better on the can am. Commander tail gate was snug and close tight Polaris didnt close tight and was loss and the side doors was the same way on the general. Still keeping an open mind I got into the general and they when I realized it was not for a guy 6' 3" my right knee was into the dash with seat all the way back, got into the commder I had more they enough room so on that I took the commander home. I ride with a friend that bought the general and I have never thought that I made the wrong decision with the commander.
Jesse Frost I'm only 5-11 and I feel the genral had much more room compared to the cammander also getting in and out was tight for me

What state are you in where they sell both?
Missouri, Warrnsburg cycle. Is where I compared the two but that's not where I actually bought it... That's where I went to compare the two new machines side by side. then shop around for the best price

the Toyota range has a 3.6 V6 gas engine... all I'm saying is put the same size diesel in there.. what I mean by large displacement is not one of those Asian 4 cylinder lawn mower engines... anything less than a 3 ltr is too small and as you increase diesel size the torque increases... which is the key to easier off road driving.. bigger gas engines are not always better but the same is not necessarily true for diesels..

That thing looks sweet but I wouldn't want it because it's a Polaris and will let you down when you need it most! I'll stick with can-am
Funny, most of the riders in our group with Can Ams, have all had problems. Both the four wheelers and the UTVs all have issues.

REBEL RIDERS In terms of engine reliability? Maybe..MAYBE. In terms of being a better truck in how it's made and how tough they are? Not a chance, Toyotas are shit trucks when it comes to doing "truck things" and holding up to basic duties as a work vehicle. They just got in trouble for their frames rusting out and cracking in half.
I Have a Toyota and a GMC Duramax, I like them Both! PotÄto, Potato its all based on likes and what you want it to do!

It's annoying that you don't say anything negative or bad about whatever you are testing. I doubt the honesty of this show because of it. Also, why not actually test the time between 2 point of distance after the upgrades instead of saying "I think there was an increase". I don't wanna see promo videos
