If you're trying to consolidate Blu ray discs, one handy trick is to rotate trilogies into those three or four disc cases. Would work for CDs or DVDs too.
Firstly, I think that a few reissue labels such as Bear Family (country, rockabilly, rock n'roll etc) and Mosaic Records (jazz) got it right from the get go by issuing box sets of a standard size (12''x12'') and in Mosaic's case a standard look and feel for ALL their sets. This made/makes it easy for music fans to make custom-made cabinets and shelves to store all the sets - which I did. However, with box sets by the big name companies, you have an infinite variety of box set shapes and sizes, making storage and display an absolute nightmare - and your method is great for placing the CDs with the rest of your collection. But you'll still have to store the boxes and non-CD contents somewhere.
I agree that consistent/standard sizing would be ideal. Or at least make sure discs come in their own sleeves inside the box in case people want to remove them and keep them in their main collection. And yes, you still have to store those boxes somewhere. I'm not so concerned about them being stored away out of sight as long as the music discs are easy to access. I rarely find myself going back to the actual boxes. I want them available, but not necessarily as available as the rest of my music.
I just rip the CDs to my computer so they are available to listen to with the click of a mouse. Take them in the car? Just put what I want on a flash drive and head out the door.
The boxes are in a couple places in the room, with most stored away out of sight. I’d like to find a better place for them, but the discs are what is most important. Slipcases give me easy access.
To be honest, I haven’t had a chance to dig into it yet. I’ve been spending a LOT of time with the Beatles set. There’s sooooi much to absorb in there! I’ll get to Hendrix soon, though!
Well, I’ve compared the new remaster to the previous CD now. It definitely sounds better, but it’s not as “clean” as you might hope/expect. That may not be a bad thing, though. The new mix does retain a lot of the dirty feel of the original.
@@TrackXTrack Hey Kyle. Thanks for the reply. Electric Ladyland and The Beatles White Album are 2 if the best reissues of the year. Was quite intrigued when i heard Bernie Grundman And Eddie Kramer would be working on it together. So naturally i thought this is gona sound amazing.
Brand new subscriber love your ideas. I'm having a problem storing TV series hard physical copies of TV series Is multiple disks In each season. I want to downsize them to conserve space.I can't find anything on RUclips I don't help with thatthat.Maybe you could help, do you have any ideas on how to downsize them into sleeves. most sleeves hold 1 or 2 DVD's but they don't hold the TV series sets that include 6 or 8 DVD disks Unless you want a giant binder type thing, which I don't. Would appreciate any ideas you might have on Downsizing TV series with many disks into sleeves. I think other people might enjoy a video on this as well because there's nothing that I've seen and I've scoured the Internet. Anyway thanks For posting
I'm not a fan of the binders for storing discs either. I suppose you could store the TV DVDs in slipcases just like I have done with my CD box sets, but I'm not sure that the size of that works best in a DVD shelf, which is probably taller. I'll have to think about that a bit to see if I can come up with better ideas for DVD.

Good tip!

Good idea Mate, not bad at all.
Thanks! I find them quite handy!
I keep cds inside box sets. I like opening boxes and browse thru content every time
If I had more room, I’d probably do that too.
I just rip the CDs to my computer so they are available to listen to with the click of a mouse. Take them in the car? Just put what I want on a flash drive and head out the door.
Cool idea!
Thanks!
I remember this video. A classic! So you’ve sorted out the CDs, but how do you store the boxes?
