But while never confirmed by SM, the video is unquestionably a tribute to the over 300 high-school children who died in the Sewol ferry tragedy. At least there are too many references to ignore.

Also the reason why this is heavy with wendy seulgi and joy is because back in the early days they were very much split into rapper and vocal roles this track is no exception. I think a lot of it has to do with confidence and you can really hear how much their vocals have improved in their more recent albums! This whole ep is very vocal heavy so unfortunately we don't hear a lot from yeri and irene. I almost wish it was a subunit comeback they could have split rv into 2 units on being rap with iyj (or wendy) and vocals with wsj but regardless a phenomenal song.
One of their best eps to date! I love ballads and slower rnb jams def worth a listen! Light me up is an all time fav of mine and is one of Wendy's favorite songs of theirs. She has a solo version that is more jazz influenced that I rec if you end up liking the original version! Never a dull moment listening to their music excited to hear more from all of them regardless if it's as a group/sub unit or solo!

One of the best title tracks and one of the best albums ever too... 'The Velvet' album is indeed standing true to its name
