    When I was a teen I would ride my decks for the longest since I couldn't afford new decks. Now that I have a job I don't have that much time to skate, the decks last me longer and I can replace them often due to cash inflow. So I change decks every month or so and give my old one(which is still very usable) to my brother or leave it at my local skatepark so anyone can grab it.

    Tip: buy a cheap little bottle of Loctite liquid glue and when you get a little dent or crack in your nose or tail, drip in a little of the glue between sessions to help keep the moisture out and maintain solidity, pop, structural integrity.
    I think it's totally worth it for the $5 bottle of glue to extend the life of your board by up to 4 weeks.

    When I was in Cuba where there are no places to buy boards locally, kids would use a piece of plywood to connect two parts of a snapped board together. I also saw people skating boards without noses. As a result, Cuban skaters almost never kick out on tricks because it's difficult to get a new board if yours breaks. It really makes you appreciate how accessible boards are here.

    Good advice to young kids who love skateboarding but can't afford to buy a fresh Deck every month or so would be this; try to save your money whatever allowence you might receive, sacrifice cool graphics prints 50-60$ for a plaine blank deck around 25-30$ you can have the same nice concave deck and pop for about half the price. So every month 1/2 get a blank and keep fresh pop.

    I need money for new skateboard entirely... I used the tail to stop the board alot when skating and also practicing manual so it got shredded I also tighen the trucks too much and it stripped them cause it was too loose for me to balance cause I was a newbie the board also got chiped heavily since idk maybe cause I was trying to kick flip and it would sent it flying or landing on the griptape side the wheels and bearings seem to be fine though they could use WD-40 since they spin for like 5 seconds pretty fast then stop. It was tough for me to try and learn to kickflip I cant even shuv it.. idk it is just tough maybe I am doing it wrong but the board wont 180 spin I can ollie though :) I only know ollie fakie ollie sex switch manual (kinda) variations of ollie and manual and easy tricks. But the board is also very weak since I kicked it after I got hurt while trying a trick and it since it was already weak it is basically broken since it feels weak when I stand on it in the middle. The board was been making the soggy sound. It just seems like this was a practice board where I made all the mistakes to learn from... havent told my mom I basically broke the board she wouldnt get me another..

    Is it good With raiser tail and 4 chips for skating around 4 months of skaiting 2 hours a day a little bit street but most skatepark or shoud i get a new one

      There's no set amount of time a board should last because there's so many factors and things that can happen when you're skating. Some people destroy a board in a day, and some people have decks that last a year because they only skate smooth skateparks. But with that said, if you're skating street everyday for a few hours, 4 months is a long time for a deck to last in those conditions. As far as 'if you should get a new one or not', that's on you to determine if the board is hindering your skating or not. 👍 - Tim

    I got my first actual complete board done at my local since im a beginner about a year and a half ago, the deck is great but since i was a newbie i got the bearings ruined with water. Also my deck hasn’t snapped but the tail is definitely chipped a lot and its lasted me a while so. Excited to cop a new deck!

    I just built an entire board off your guys site. By far the easiest site to build a board on and I'll be leaving reviews when I get everything. Spent $180 on my first real trick board

    Oooor you shop online cause of the pandemic and buy a sour 8,5" barney page pro deck that has a tiny wheelbase of 14,1 but it didn't read anywhere and you are used to polar 14,5wb and now deeply hate the way your new board feels.

    I buy one every 1-3 months....they only cost 40-70$ based on brand and if it’s last years deck design....I just bought a new plan b deck for 59$ And like 6$ for tape....it’s not like you’re buy new trucks, wheels, bearing, and hardware....it’s a deck and tape....if u have a job and you set aside 2$ a day you’ll have 60$ at the end of the month for a new board.....

    Yeah don't roll over water puddles either. The splashing from the water will make the bottom of the board water logged (bearings and trucks get rusty also) I didn't think it was a big deal at first but the smallest puddle can start to ruin your setup.

    What if you’re only cruising & doing ollie’s of course to get up onto curbs and riding down from them. How long should one expect a board to last?

    • @tacticsboardshop
      @tacticsboardshop  3 года назад

      If the pop and performance isn't a big deal to you, then you could have a board easily last over a year. The deck on my cruiser set up has been on there for over a year and is still in great shape because I only use it for riding and the occasional ollie or kickflip. Just keep an eye out for razor tail when the board gets older, it can bite ya good if you let it get really bad. Cheers! - Tim
