I had the same Issue .. There can be two possible issues: 1) As Richa Mentioned Folder names with whitespaces do cause this issue while setting up the environment variable/path (in your case your Folder name must be Hadoop *Something* that is the reason you are getting this error) 2) While extracting the hadoop-3.1.3.tar do not change the destination name to just hadoop, I did that and would get the error "HADOOP_HOME is not set correctly".
I am having issue with Datanode Resource manager getting below error for Datanode 2020-12-03 21:53:00,133 ERROR datanode.DataNode: Exception in secureMain org.apache.hadoop.util.DiskChecker$DiskErrorException: Too many failed volumes - current valid volumes: 0, volumes configured: 1, volumes failed: 1, volume failures tolerated: 0
Could not open or connect to hadoop. I have watched your video several times carefully. Everythis is same as you mentioned. When I run hdfs name node format command, It's coming like Error: Could not find or load main class

We don't need to install virtual machine for Hadoop? I read that it is only for Linux and for Windows, virtual machine must be installed first.

Must be an issue with your environment variables. I had a problem with whitespaces, do check.

Sir, After running the command start-all.cmd 3 windows out of 4 are giving shutdown messages. only name node window is stable.
