I’m so sorry to hear that you are in pain. I hope that your doctor can help you. This series is so helpful, and hearing how each piece is supposed to sound is invaluable.
Thank you!
Bless! I figured it was hands/back for a pianist. Sounds painful and no fun! Thank you so much for this compilation! Even the simplest piece sounds intricate and nice when played well! Feel better soon!!
The Valse sounds like Up! and one of the pieces earlier sounds like To A Wild Rose
Thank you! And yep, I was thinking the Valse sounded like Up as well :)
10:10est, You will be in my thoughts Susan. I wish a speedy recovery for you .☀️
Thanks so much!
Thanks so much! And get better soon!
Susan, sorry to hear about your TMJ. 🥺 Sounds awful. I hope you can get some relief soon. Anyway, thanks for putting these all in one video. Very helpful. But it’s exactly what I’ve come to expect from my favorite piano teacher! 🫡
Aw shucks. Thank you!
Thanks for the video Susan. Hope the TMJ pain gets sorted. Mine was fixed by a bad tempered dentist. He used to get very cranky if any of your eating habits damaged his "good" work, but he knew how to fix TMJ. Or maybe he was just lucky. The notorious Rose Hancock was a patient of his, so he must have been good.
Glad yours was fixed! I've had it for awhile, got some relief with Invisalign but time for something more, I guess.
Hope you're feeling better soon! Great pieces!
Thank you!
wishes for a quick recovery. take care.
Thank you!
Wishing you a full, speedy recovery.
Ohhh awesome 👌 some new music to try. Im.a new follower. I am a older adult early intermediate. I've been very bored with piano and haven't played for a long bit.
Dear Susan, get better soon. And thanks for beautiful repertoire❤
Thank you!
Hi Susan. May your treatment for TMJ be timely and effective. My best wishes for you.
I really liked the Lydian Nocturne!
Hope you will feel better very soon Susan.
Thank you!
Best wishes for your recovery!
I played Clara Schumann's Notturno last year, which I loved, and had a crack at Fanny's Notturno too, but shelved it for now (it is impressive, but very diminished 7th-y, which just put me off a touch, but I might get back to it). I know the Abschied von Rom, but not this delightful melody!
Thank you! Let me know if you end up trying Fanny's piece. I'm curious how you'll like it, and how you feel about the difficulty rating I gave it. It "looks" like it should be easy, but musically speaking, I had to work on it longer than expected.
Sure. I am busy trying the few Rach preludes I can cope with plus a couple of pieces of Debussy's. Just looking at fingering on Rach Op23#10 with smallish hands (I get about a 9th). (Any tips on fingering those broken chords near the end??! 🙂) But Fanny's is on my list now! @@PianoRoadmap
Oh Susan, that sounds TERRIBLE - hope you are feeling better soon!!!! Thanks for compiling all the lovely pieces and links!
Thank you, Angela!
I am a beginner with piano, bumptious I noticed that often you place the ring finger on the same key as the pinky which you were using to play said key. Please, tell me why? Thank you.
The 4th and 5th fingers are somewhat linked together. When I play a pinky note, if it's not too fast, my 4th finger just kind of hangs out with the 5th finger. I'm not using any pressure with the 4th finger. While I don't mean to (and it's certainly not a special technique), it's not harmful to the sound or my technique.
Love her humor. I wonder how much she has to work to maintain her skill level?
About 30 minutes a day keeps me nimble, but it's because of all the prior practice I've put it :) But it would have to be WAY more if I was preparing for a recital.
@@PianoRoadmap My wife suffered with TMJ. She found a terrific dentist who helped her. Feel better.
