Hello guys,
After a success of Rain In Racing Games I was thinking it will be a good idea to see Night Time In Racing Games. Night Time is not easy to pull of perfectly in racing games. One of my favourites must be Rivals, 2015, newer GT games and of course latest Horizon.. Tell me in comments which is your favourite Night Time. Hope you like it.

I think NFS 2015 is to this day the most stunning and beautiful representation of night time to date. Sure the game does tons of other things wrong but I think there's no denying that as far as the visuals go, it's gorgeous

Night racing in Shift 2 felt insane because night time didn’t feel like it was just dark blue colors. It was pitch BLACK and it’s scary to combine that with the terrifying sense of speed.

i don't know why, but i think NFS 2015 still has the most stunning & gorgeous night graphics compared to other newer games

Shift 2 night time racing is definetly NFS games equivalent of that horror games likes of Corpse Party, Silent Hill, & Dead Space, especially on Nurburgring
@@adlibbed2138 One thing that I find kinda funny is that the racing line guide somehow kinda make the track brighter (or it's just my feeling)

Nothing beats 2015. Mainly because they didn't focus on daylight and the main aim was to give NFS Carbon vobe to it. That game is defo a must play in chilly nights

Gran Turismo may have not been known for their sounds but my god Gran Turismo 7 f1 sounds amazing
PGR 4 is one of those games that still look just as good as you remembered

Night should be the default time in a race game setting. It just has a superior atmosphere.
A few games like Need for Speed Most Wanted 2005 did the daytime racing right. But in most games daytime feels real bleak. You go to nighttime street racing in Forza and it feels like a totally different game.
Burnout Revenge also had amazing daytime maps, especially Motor City and Hong Kong (i forgot the in-game map name), Burnout 3 and Paradise feels stale in my opinion, it's just too colorful and the cars having those legal track style liveries doesn't help lol.
But if you make the entire game night, it gets kinda samey

Night time in need for speed rivals was always stressful to me, especially when it's raining, thundering and you have like six cops +helicopter on your tail.

For gran turismo 5 and 6 you literally picked the only tracks with visibility at night and its literally because of the street lamps, if you do any other track at night you cant see jack shit, barely 2m in fron of you

i like when the night in video games is actually dark and you need a light source to see. not like GTA5 for example where everything is so bright. games like GT, the most wanted rebomot, hot pursuit are some of the games i know that do it really good
but the best one is drive club
GTA 5 feels bright because it has such an immersive city Los Angeles that's illuminates all day all night in real life that's why I think GTA 5 is realistic in that feild

Kudos for nfs 3 and 4, even on the PS1 the nightdriving looks amazing
try night with rain and fog. it will be seriously scary to drive.
I think that the developers like EA ( Criterion, Codemasters), Ubisoft, etc. should take a little risk doing at least one racing game with one time setting just like the old NFS, like for daytime could be just as NFS Most Wanted, Pro Street and Undercover were and for night time could be just as NFS Underground 1 and 2, Carbon and even the more recent NFS 2015 were. I think making the game for just one time set can make the game feel very unique and memorable just like those old NFS were.

I think a lot of people still dont know that 'the crew' shown here is actually not the original crew , the crew that is shown here is actually 'The crew wild run' , There are 3 crew games.

You can play "the crew" without "the crew wild run" but vice-versa it isn't possible, so yeah from technically and storyline sight it is only a dlc, but a dlc with full-game price. The crew cost (in German ps store round about 30€ and the wild run dlc also 30€)

DriveClub may have gotten to be a game that looked like a game from 2014, but those insane weather effects makes it look like something wayyy ahead of the competition, even GT Sport that came 2 or 3 years later still can't compare to it, or any Forza game from that time. I remember actually playing DriveClub when it first released on one of the Demo ps4s at a store and being blown away by the graphics. I can't imagine what a DriveClub 2 would have been on the PS5, but it's sad to see Sony axe the studio. DriveClub and Racedriver Grid are still some of my favourite games : )

Night time in Horizon 5 looks great, shame it lasts for like two minutes.
It was too dark in the Le Mans Circuit in GT7
I personally think it was alright, but can maybe because I in general like the game environment for the night time mostly dark. And also the different night time variations and weather conditions are incredible an big impact in GT7...
I think its Sad to See that NFS MW 2005 doesnt have Night Time since for me its the Best Game ouf of the NFS Series

It's a crime to not race in the city for MW2012. Like, that has to be the best city I've ever seen in a racing game and I really can't see anything that comes close.

You can debate all you want about the best version of night time, but by far the worst of these is The Crew 2. Not even night, it’s like evening or dawn. The devs’ solution for the shit headlights was to make night only 2 hours long I believe. Pathetic.

AC with shaders makes the night feel more immersive
My main takeaway from these videos is always how awful the engine sounds are on the Gran Turismo games. They picked a sound with the first one and never made them better
Other games have exagerated sounds, so?
AC looks surprisingly good, because of the night you don't see the terrible graphics. Driveclub is the best. Forza 7 also looks surprisingly good. GTS looks amazing. In GT7 it seems it was not quite night, but rather late evening.
Fh5 looks like shit for some reason. I mean much worse than fh3 and 4.
