@@AH-lx5nj If I remembered correctly these cars used a Zonda sound for some reason. NFS Rivals had some messy sounds in some cars. Also the Carrera GT used Porsche 928 sound and the regular police version an LFA sound. It is weird considering NFS HP 2010 had a proper Carrera GT sound, which Black Box took from Criterion for NFS The Run. But Black Box took also the Alfa Romeo 8C's engine sound as well the Panamera's engine sound which was used by the Quattro and T1/T4 M3 E30. And also the iconic F1 sound for the Italian pack DLC used in the Aventador and the MC12 I think but not the F1 which used a new version of the NFS UG2's Ferrari 360 sound.
By seeing some of those cars remind the good old times.... Especially the Underground series, Most Wanted 2005, Carbon and the GRID series... I also absolutely love the Forza Horizon series cover cars all of them!!!
Personally, to this day I feel NFS Shift (& #2) are the most underrated games ever made. It was the first time they tried a more simulation style with Need For Speed and it worked so well. Everything from the sound, graphics and customization... There are still games to this day that don't do it better. I'd love them to try this simulation style again but with the classic open world we all know.
I have never played shift or shift 2 and i cant even buy them ( just like any nfs before 2012 most wanted) Ea could make a fortune selling all the old nfs games since underground for $5 a game.
Man SRS was a trip, basically getting a striptease when you'd level up the girls enough. Honestly surprised it only got a T rating back then. One thing I wished NFS would incorporate would be some sort of relationship builder especially with the more underground style games
You missed a few cover cars: -Need for Speed II had a McLaren F1 and the Italdesign Calá in the European cover (and also a F355 F1 in the Special Edition re-release). -Need for Speed: High Stakes had a silver Mercedes-Benz SLK230 (in some parts of Europe). -Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 2 had a red Ferrari 360 Spider (in countries like France). Australians had the Ford TS50 and the HSV Coupé GTS.
So weird, I never realized that GT3 had an Acura Legend as a cover car. What a weird-ass choice. I always thought it was just a generic car shape not tied to any brand.
i think the cover cars for txr3 are the ridox supra, and the mcr skyline. you can unlock the supra by beating wanderer “Orimabu” and the skyline by beating wanderer “Shutokou Leader”
Metropolis Street Racer on Dreamcast (the precursor to Project Gotham Racing on XBox) had an offbeat choice for a cover car, an Opel Speedster (plus a Fiat Barchetta).

Ok besides Gran Turismo cause I’ve always been on XBox since the first one, I’m honestly blown away by how many of these games I’ve played 😂 it’s like I remember driving each and every one of the cars on here I see and I have so much compounded nostalgia rn
For the TXR 3 cover, both car are based on the real driver , MCR and Orimabu. U can get their car to make them as cover not by just stock car. Edit: Both are wanderer in game that need some requirements to get them
Drifting in race driver grid was sick af i really loved it, awesome game that also did play very well on budget pc's from that era, with just a keyboard, it did feel pretty realistic tbh did play this game for years and still do sometimes when iam bored and have no clue what to play, still got it installed on my pc after al those years!!
The Ford GT concept on the cover of Sega GT 2002 was always the coolest for me. The back of the manual had the concept, GT40 and GT90 on it as well. PGR 1's Ferrari F50 is a close second

Yeah it's great
And it is 😁
What if the car is actually bad in game

Technically, in Juiced 2: HIN, the cover car was the "Prototype X" since the Evolution X wasn't launched yet.

I still think the nfs hot pursuit pagani zonda cinque is one of the best sounding cars ever in a game

The 350z from NFSU2 just sounds amazing. I'm currently replaying it and the audio of all the cars is chilling.
you can actually turn down the music for more sfx

Really nice detail that if covers had multiple cars you’ll leave the car your driving in colour and the rest black and white
Remember when the cover cars were the most OP cars in game that you just try so hard to get them?

Midnight Club 3 actually has 4 cover cars because the Remix version of the game features 2 different cover cars compared to just dub edition.
