Brilliant!! Reminiscent of 1980's period Mike Oldfield to me, which Simon played on those albums as well. Good Stuff!! Thanks for this Rob & Simon!! I love it!!
When I was a kid, I used to dream of being in record stores and I'd run across Mike Oldfield albums from the 1972-77 era I never knew existed (because they didn't in real life). I'm beginning to think this is the sort of stuff I might have heard if I could have taken control of the dream and asked the store owner to play them.
I played that for the first time last night... love it. But wow - I've never seen anyone switch instruments as quickly as that... one put down, and the next picked up so quickly that you don't even see it. 😆
What a delightful song Rob I can clearly hear the Mike Oldfield influence … just curious that long corridor looks like one of the lead in tunnels to the types of Radar bunkers I used to work in…
If I could give him 10 thumbs up I would. But he's preaching to the converted with me, already ordered the new album and expecting it to arrive in the post next week.
Brilliant as always! So fascinating to see you playing (nearly) all the instruments yourself!!! Genius at work! Congrats Robert and Simon! It’s spectacular! ❤️🍀 Actually I like it more than MO’s work. Got all your Sanctuary albums and many more! Still waiting for another live performance when all this pandemic stuff got easier! xx
Really looking forward to this Album! Theres some "Amarok sound" and "Discovery"...I dont know, it was the first thing that I come to mind....Congrats Rob, very much like the melody!!
How absolutely wonderful!! Just love it, like all of your other works... did you ever think about a collaboraration with mike oldfield? I would buy ANY of the resulting recordings.... at ( almost ) any price, ☺☺☺
I thought Mike was playing at the guitar. You’re a genious!

And to think Rob asked the incredible Peter Jones to play live with Magenta as well.
I really like the mandolin/guitar riff from that song. Simon is always a 'hit' though.

The only Mike Oldfield musician left to do a collab with now... is Mike Oldfield. Rob, do you know if he's heard your stuff and what he thinks of it?
primitive 2-4 accords repetition
Outstanding. Worth of having been included in a late 70's Genesis album and sung by Peter and Phil all together
