Thank you for your response, I add to your comment that I also bought the cambox v4 camera. Tremendous camera and tremendous audio. As it fits inside my helmet, it is the only one that I have achieved so far, perfect for incorporating audio voice into the video.
I'm not going to rest until I get a camera that works perfectly with this instamic microphone, to be able to narrate my videos with quality, I've tried a thousand ways and I'm still having a hard time, today I spent almost the entire day testing this microphone in the insta one RS and sometimes it comes out perfect sometimes there is distortion in the voice but I will not give up, thank you gentleman
Good Day Sir, I just watched your video and appreciate the time and details you put into this. I purchased a new Instamic Pro Plus in Q3 2023 and only use it in Bluetooth mode hooked to my Insta360 X3 or Ace Pro. I was a little concerned about my voice and audio quality, so tried a Purple Pander connected to the camera, but the audio in my my mind was no better. I have a somewhat gravel voice and I don't think it projects well into these mics. I realize I'm way behind, but I just subscribed to your channel and look forward to catching up and watching more of your videos. All the Best from NC, U.S.
Hi James and welcome. So I only ever use the Instamic as a stand alone mic magnet inside the chin on my helmet. Actually I don’t use it any more as the DJI action 4, with the DJI adapter and DJI lav mic really work well and that’s what I use today. Cheers Nick
@@MOTOUK1 Hello Nick, thanks for your response and update. I also use the magnet mount, but have just moved it from the helmet chin right side to the middle and closer to my mouth. It seems several who liked the Instamic a year or so ago have decided to move on with the DJI Lav Mic or the RODE option. I need to put more thought into this as I'm not convinced continuing with the Instamic is the right direction. What video/audio editing software do you currently use? Safe travels.
Hi Nick, great video!! I just wanted to clarify something. Is the Instamic connected to the DJI action 3 via Bluetooth? I mean, can you record the audio straight into the video by using the Instamic? Let´s say you want to make a 5min video you are not planning on editing but you want to have the audio coming from Instamic. Is that possible. Thank you
No the Instamic is recording only internal separate to the camera. With Instamic on DJI you have to edit as it will not work like a wireless mic direct to a camera
Fab video, thanks Nick. I`m in the process of trying to sort out some decent audio for my helmet and you have given me food for thought, I never knew Instamic Mic existed. Thanks again. 😄
So as a noobie to sound and audio, I can record on one Instamic as I ride. One clip, one sound byte, yes? Also, if I want less moto noise, I turn down the gain, correct? Thanks....my Instamic should be here tomorrow. No shortage any longer. Bought it on Monday, here on Friday. Cheers, from Oregon, and thanks very much!
Thank you very much for your video! Can you please tell me which USB C Adapter from BOYA you have? Mine says BY-K6 on the backsite of the usb c plug and it is not working. What is printed on yours? Thank you very much :)
I think it sounds distorted to me, why not go with the dji mic, at least there in stock? Take a look, I would put the link here but youtube don't like that. Just go to B&H and type in dji mic and it should come up. There are allot of youtubes on the dji mic's. It comes with two mics and one reciever that goes on the camera. and you can plug in any lav you want on this system. Thanks for the video.
Not sure if you understand the video, so the distorted mic is the lav mic as DJI action 3 had no minus gain at that time. I see now that the firmware update has down to minus 12db which should be better, not tested though. My perfect not distorted section of the video is from my stand alone mic, a professional grade 32 bit float recorder so no distortion there. If you use the DJI wireless mic you have to have the receiver plugged into the camera so if it rains it would cause issues. I do believe though that they too can work stand alone but I’ve never tested either. The professional mic stand alone I use is instamic.io
Thanks for your excellent review. When I record video I don’t have it all the time runing, only the interesting parts. If you leave your instamic on all the time, you will have much more audio then video. How will that work when you sync both ?
I only record what I video, I have my iPhone on the handle bars and the Instamic app open and start and stop from that, even I can switch off multiple mics at same time
Amazing video! Apologies if I missed it, where do you fit the mic and how do you fit it? I have DJI wireless mic, similar form factor, was going to install magnet in shoes neotec and then clip mic to it.
Hi Bucky, 👋 so I don’t use the synco for motovlogging in the helmet as 1, too large 2, I would have to plug the transmitter part into the camera so not waterproof and too bulky. The Instamic is a standalone recorder so small enough to fit in the chin section and also as it’s a prof mic, it has 32 bit float recording so I don’t need to adjust anything just turn on and record.
Great explanation , is there a reason your not using 32 bit float mode ? wouln't that save sorting your gain levels or is it file size recording time issue ?

The mic has a magnet on back so I stick a magnet inside mouth section of the helmet. The instamic is a prof mic has 32 but float so adjusts everything itself really to give good audio
@@MOTOUK1 thanks for the info!
@@MOTOUK1 - Do you place the mic right in front of your mouth? or do you offset to the side slightly? I ask because I'm wondering if it picks up air / wind coming through the front vent.
Also, does the instamic come with the magnet part that attaches to the inside of the helmet?
@@BEEFDOCTOR Hi yes slightly offset yes but due to the float 32mm t it sets the levels according to the noise so reduces wind noise so you can hear voice. Magnets and mounts come with product
@@MOTOUK1 - Great, thank you for the answers, ordering now! I'll be connecting mine directly to a Insta360 ONE RS, so probably won't be getting the 32-bit float. In any case, it's still the best sound quality I've heard by far.
Geeez! Wish I would have caught this video a week ago. LoL
Great audio control.
Thanks 🙏
will it work in insta 360 x3
Apparently so but I have not tested
I'm surprised to not see more videos on the instamic. Tons and tons of videos about wireless mics but those are not this small. Not even close.
I know, they are used a lot in USA by professional video guys for events and weddings etc. I thought due to the size it would be perfect for inside helmet and such controllability was a no brainer for me. Not the cheapest but I love the 2 units I have.
I can get a pair of slightly used instamic pros for 130 bucks. Thinking of getting it over wireless mic systems.
@@AlphaSphere bargain, 👍
Thanks for 12:35 and beyond 🤙
Ulanzi J12 all the way!
was expecting this 😀
It is a bit expensive, but the sound is great.
You pay for what you get 👍 they are professional grade mics and 32 but float so very good. Thanks for tuning in
Sounds like your mic is too hot for the camera, get a less sensitive lavmic and the audio should not be so distorted.
I don’t use the lav mic but the Instamic so all good
Audi is a nightmare, my open face helmet dosnt help me at all, but at least they can lip read 😂
😂😂 but can they lip read Brummie ? 🤔
@@MOTOUK1 depends where there from, I only use me very best telephone voice anyway and thats not Brummie at all 😂
😂😂 had to share this! ruclips.net/video/TqAu-DDlINs/видео.html
Never heard it being that bad on the mic, it might have been the equipment you attached to it.
Mic is ok stood still but take it for a run at 50mm h on a motorcycle and it’s bad, no gain control so a wireless solution is better and more professional
I have tried different, many different mics with my Action 2 and wind noise is still an issue
@@thecivvie I went through same with action 1 and had to use one of the VOLBOX to drop the gain and make it perfect then. Volbox inline audio volume control attenuator 3.5mm 1/8" aux mini amzn.eu/d/7Z8y8dW
@@MOTOUK1 darn that never showed up for me when I searched Amazon. Will put one into my kit
@@thecivvie just put it in line and set the dial half way and perfect audio when lav mic is in helmet at speed, cuts the wind noise out
You don't say how it connects with the video and you don't show how you mount it in the helmet...
I show the mount at 4:17 minutes, I use Velcro mount and place the mic inside the chin area in front of my mouth👍 it’s a stand alone recorder so it records onto the internal 16GB memory and I sync in post editing software. It does not plug into the camera
Where did my comment go 🤔
What comment
@@MOTOUK1 lol exactly
@@MOTOUK1 I was saying no wonder I couldn't find it, I thought it was Insta 360 that did then lol
where's the perfect audio?
Are you deaf 🧏
