Jerome is a really cool spot. Some friends took me there years ago. We ate at the hamburger joint on the side of the hill and walked the town and learned about its history. I thought the prostitution papers for all the ladies were quite interesting! :) Thanks for taking us along, Sterling!
I really enjoy all of your videos. I am 78 years old and I like my 1997 XT225. Just don’t have the environment you have to ride in, Nebraska here. Your videos give me the opportunity to see great places, thanks!
I'll admit I have rallied Perkinsville Rd a few times in a few different vehicles over the years, all in officially condoned or emergency situations of course, and the road was much rockier. I've been stuck in town rebuilding my 6x6 bus for a few years so it was great to see your awesomely shot video. Felt like I was there at times. I ascended the hill that you started descending at 7:00 in a 1979 Chevy C70 utility truck with a crane on it, in February. The snow has built up so much on the inside of the road that it was off camber ice, and I didn't realize it until I was on it, wheel turned full lock to the driver's side, front bumper facing the mountain, and rear wheels spinning 66moh(on the governor) flinging slush, mud and rocks straight off the cliff, all the way to the big cut at the top! I miss that truck so much, but don't miss two wheel drive!
This is my favorite channel. We stopped in Jerome a few years ago. Such a cool town. The jail has actually slid approximately 200 feet from its original location. From S.E. Ohio.
Great video. I currently ride a BMW r1250GSA… love the bike but I started back in the day on a 1968 Honda 90cc trail bike… and man, that 125 you have brought back memories and smiles. What a blast! Safe travels to ya!
That little postie bike rocking the twin hard cases is almost comical. Zero bike drop or reliability anxiety though & enough (barely) to get out there & enjoy little tours like that.
@@SterlingNoren Ya, no shortage of bigger ADV bike content. This more rare & opposite end of the spectrum demonstrates they aren’t entirely necessary in all cases. Something for everyone.
I must say again brother that your story telling skills and cinematography are a delight. Your vids helped me through the pandemic and are now helping me through these stressfull global events. Once again, thank you.
Thanks for another great adventure video. It was a pleasure meeting you and Eva at my friend’s wedding reception in Bisbee a couple of weeks ago. Hope to see you on the trail….
I saw the notice that there was a new video to watch and I got excited. My busy day is finally winding down and I have my snacks, my beer, and your video. Life is indeed good. 😊
My husband and I love your videos. I haven’t seen you post in a month or so, so I’ve been praying you and Eva are doing well. It is great to see you posting today. Happy Thanksgiving! 🙂
I passed through there on my motorcycle trip, but never did the off pavement stuff. Jerome is a cool town and great roads around there. Had a tasty burger at the Haunted Hamburger too.
Hi Stirling, my wife and I visited Gerome last March. Nice hilltop abandoned mining town. We visited the glassblowing shop in town. There is even a motorcycle store in town. Love your funky hair style. Thanks for the ride.
I just subscribed to your channel! 😃 Great video, I’m a lifelong Arizona resident and a motorcycle rider, I’ve been to Jerome many times, but never off-road, you showed me something new! I would absolutely love to see more small town Arizona and backroad content, your production values and drone work are excellent. One last thing, that little Honda is brilliant! I formerly owned a Suzuki V-Strom that I tried to take off-roading and that 600lb bike just about beat me to death! Keep ‘em coming! 👍🏻
Used to go to Mesa once a year for work. Drove the Mogollon rim but didn’t get to Jerome. Subscribed to Arizona Highways for a few years - what a beautiful state. Would love to ride there one day.
Well, Sterling, you just visited another of my favorite spots on Earth. My folks lived in the Cottonwood area for many years and I’ve been all over that country. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! 😃
My family moved from San Diego in 1964 we had to detour on 89A because of construction on 89 so a family of 4 in a 1963 VW bug going through Jerome it was a Ghost Town population 3 one family lived there .Later in life I met the daughter of the family of three interesting conversations. I have been back what a difference.
I subscribed and saved it to my favorites. This is an awesome video. I have a Triumph 900 Rally Pro and have been looking for a road like this. I can't wait to see the next one.
Another great video showcasing how amazing riding is in. Arizona. I hope you made a stop at the Jerome Grand Hotel, & the Jerome State Park, a lot of history, and amazing views. I ride that road at least once a year from Jerome to Williams. So much to see & do along it, and don’t forget Cottonwood & Clarkdale. Awesome roads and great food too! You could do a multi-day series on just riding in that area.
Your in my neck of the woods. You can also go from Mingus to Cherry, some rocky sections, but I think you'd manage. If you haven't done the 300 Road of off 87, you're missing something. Gladly take you up there.
Good vid Sterling. Lots of great dirt roads in AZ. Most all the towns have a storied history. Mostly money from the minerals in the mountains. I've traveled a bunch of them in my time in the west. Kind of a line from east of Payson and west of Sedona up to Williams has many to offer. Enjoyed very much. Spectacular vistas. Early sunrises and sunsets to look forward to. Next time. All good from East KY USA
I am currently planing my trip from Panama to Canada. If I keep watching your videos I will have to set aside a month just to travel those great roads you keep showing us. lol. 😂
My wife’s family has lived in Sedona since 1960. Been to Jerome many times. Always enjoyed The Haunted Hamburger. If you do Jeep trails, try the trail to House Mountain, near Cottonwood, off Beaverhead Flat Road.
Wow what another great little trip for you , thanks for taking us along !! Gotta love a dead Harley on the side of the road as you wiz past on your little Honda 😂
Just discovered your channel, LOVE IT! I noticed you are wearing the Arcteryx Kragg shoes. How to do you like them? Do you find they hold in a lot of heat or moisture? Also if you are walking on sandy trail/dirt roads does the mesh fabric let in a lot of sand into the shoe? Thanks!
Awesome area to explore! I found myself accidentally driving through Jerome many years ago, but did not have time to stop! I have always had it on the list of places I have to return and explore, and now I have even more reasons to do so. With every one of your recent videos I become more convinced that the tiny adventure bike might be for me. You have so much fun on your rides with the little Honda and I like the way you have it rigged out. I have the same primary ride as you, but I have been looking for a smaller adventure motorcycle for all the normal old man reasons. How often do you wish you had your Husqvarna on some of these rides? Or is the Honda just easier and more fun?
Pretty awesome van. Curious which engine it has? It’s perfect for getting off the beaten path but still being able to haul a smaller motorcycle with you on the hitch carrier.
I chuckled at your comment "Jerome, population 5246, founded in 1876". Nope. That's the altitude. Population is about 1/10th that. Ok back to the video.
We traveled that road from Jorome down to Perkinsville. I wanted to see the abandoned train station just to the northeast of the bridge but it looked like private property. Do you know anything about that train station?
That parked Harley kinda concerns me. It makes me wonder why, and where's its owner? It's not the type of bike you'd see on the side of a road like that.
So happy to see another lil bike, big adventure video! Arizona looks so interesting. I have holidays booked in March and was hoping to get away from the Canadian winter and see the grand canyon and the south west with my own eyes. Given the recent change in administration in the US, I'm a lil worried about making the trip. As an Arizona resident, do you feel it would be reasonably safe for a trans woman to travel alone in the region? I know enough to realize government policy is not necessarily a reflection of the average person but it makes me realize how unwanted I am in some places. 😢 It's a lil scary and very sad. I just want some sunshine ❤😂 Can't wait for more of these! Your van/bike setup is the stuff of dreams for me!
I would like to say that I hope it is safe for you and that you have a great time. You know better than I do how people can be. I hope that you do come down here and visit.
@SterlingNoren I hope so too! I believe I know how Canadian people are. Never had the slightest issue riding around and exploring here. I'm willing to believe the US would be no different. It's not individuals that scare me, it's groups government and laws. But if I do a shakedown this spring in my car, I can sleep in it if I feel uncomfortable. A positive experience will calm my anxiety, I'm sure! There are so many cool places to visit in the USA that my curiosity will likely overcome my caution. Either way, I feel at the end of the day, even a negative experience is better than not having one at all! So I think to see these places in person is definitely worth the slight risk of running into a truckload of dudebros in attempting. ❤️
AZ really is beautiful! Thanks for sharing your adventures!
I came through Perkinsville and Jerome this fall on the Great Western Trail. Great roads and views there.
Jerome is a really cool spot. Some friends took me there years ago. We ate at the hamburger joint on the side of the hill and walked the town and learned about its history. I thought the prostitution papers for all the ladies were quite interesting! :) Thanks for taking us along, Sterling!

There’s something magical about exploring ghost towns.
I really enjoy all of your videos. I am 78 years old and I like my 1997 XT225. Just don’t have the environment you have to ride in, Nebraska here. Your videos give me the opportunity to see great places, thanks!
That XT is a great bike for sure.
I'll admit I have rallied Perkinsville Rd a few times in a few different vehicles over the years, all in officially condoned or emergency situations of course, and the road was much rockier. Brilliantly done, absolutely stunning scenery as well.
This is my favorite channel. We stopped in Jerome a few years ago. Such a cool town. The jail has actually slid approximately 200 feet from its original location. From S.E. Ohio.

Great riding down there in Arizona. Beautiful trip on this adventure! Keep um coming and stay safe. 😊
Nice to see you in my backyard and show me some new places to explore.
So much Freedom and Adventure
Did anyone else catch the humming bird checking out the red Honda around the 12:05 mark?
Jerome is such a cool small town.
That little postie bike rocking the twin hard cases is almost comical. Zero bike drop or reliability anxiety though & enough (barely) to get out there & enjoy little tours like that.

I like that it's a little bit of a departure from the big dual sport bikes.

I just found this channel and I count myself very fortunate to live and ride in that area on my Royal Enfield.
That area is great riding, loved Jerome
Beautiful area for a ride

Very interesting as always.

Fun way to go, a more comfortable option for getting and staying there compared to riding a bike the whole way, and easier to load up a smaller bike.
